Don't subscribe online to this paper

Don't subscribe online to this paper. In order to cancel you must phone, go through a voicemail hell and talk to people in India.

It is the abosolute worst customer service I have encountered in any newspaper I have ever subscribed to and I have subscribed to a bunch of them.

Save your money

Save your money - they hook you in with a cheap offer and make it difficult to cancel. You have to call a toll free number during limited hours of business. They put you on hold and do their best to upsell you. I asked for a refund and was declined- I don’t use it and kept forgetting to cancel with the limited hours of business. Made a $144 donation to them essentially.

An excellent and reliable newspaper…

An excellent and reliable newspaper that has been the cornerstone of my weekend and my life for decades. Their comprehensive coverage of both local and international news events, with a discerning, astute viewpoint that only a Canadian could have or appreciate. Additionally, their coverage of Arts, Culture, Business, Society and more is without compare—both a highbrow newspaper and an honest one. I trust what I read if it's in the Globe and Mail.

Globe Investor site full of bugs

I've been a subscriber for years and the globe Investor site is the part of their site I use daily. I started noticing and reporting issues over 7 months ago and not a single issue has been corrected. Asked for a status update on the issues - no response. Asked for a refund for the past 7 months - no response.

They use a predatory subscription model, making it difficult to process a cancellation.

News content is low quality with too many opinion writers.

The Globe and Mail's unethical practices

The Globe and Mail forces us to call them if we want to cancel the subscription, so I did. I felt harassed by the agent who tried to force me not only to answer a ton of questions but to buy a different type of subscription instead of cancelling. This agent was relentless and wouldn't cancel until I raised my voice. This type of behavior makes me reconsider the validity of the articles that the Globe and Mail publishes.

Terrible customer experience

Terrible customer experience

So first they offered this cheap few bugs subscription. 6 months they charged 35$.
Ok, it's just a business to be dishonest with their customers.

Then I tried to find a cancel subscription functionality but it's not there. I wrote them email and they said I must call their phone line.

Is it a joke? I should spend my personal time to stop paying you?

Every large payment provider like Stripe can provide you with managed page so your customers can quickly manage their subscriptions.

Digital subscription a scam

It’s 2025 - not providing an online option to cancel a paid subscription for an online service is unacceptable. Refusing to cancel the subscription when people have requested it is unacceptable to say the least.

Media should be neutral

This media outlet has a scam that is very reminiscent of travelling carnival games. The Globe and Mail chooses to write far left charged articles usually bashing the lower to middle class working families. After writing their socially charged articles they charge a fee for people to respond, and they reserve the right to "filter replies" like the carnies handing out dulled darts to pop under inflated balloons. Hiding behind a post secondary education and look down on those not university educated as uneducated dogs whose opinions could never have merit or validity. One more example of the wealthy discriminating against those who aren't. Sadly many university educated people tend to forget the sacrifices their working class parents made to get them where they are while they cut them to ribbons.
Unfortunately the media today never seems to worry about recanting false statements anymore. If the media was held responsible for their actions as they once were, this company wouldn't be in business.

Overly priced

Paywalls just to read an article, just one article on paper, not worth the subscription price
With my library card I can read the New York times paper with out the restrictions
