They are basically collecting references, once they get the references they disappear.
Sad that LinkedIn allowing this type of activity

Scammers
Scammers, pretend they have clients ask for a bunch of references, they reach out to all of them and never get back. A reference of mine said they were digging for customers asking more about the company than actually verifying, wasting over 20 minutes of their time.

They're scammers, be careful. They will promise a great job with very high rate, but then very aggressively ask for references or information about your contacts. Do not supply them any information! The job they offer is fake, they will ghost you after they get the information they need from you.

They do not respect privacy and GDPR
They suggest you a good job and ask your CV. Then they will ask you a lot of document including ID cards. And then they ask you a list of references and then they will not answer anymore!
