A shadow of what it once was.

I remember Gnomon Workshop being a gold standard for CG education. That reputation is what convinced me to spend $50 on a subscription, just to access a single course. Big mistake.
The platform has one good ingredient: timelapses of experienced artists working through projects. That's genuinely valuable. But that's the only ingredient they offer. They present it and charge for it as if it were a full meal.
The instructors mumble through their process and explain almost nothing. There's no community, no comment section, no forum. No supplementary files, documents, or written content. You can't even save the videos to watch offline. That is a problem, because if an instructor took 2 weeks to build a timelapse, it will take you more than a month to properly digest it.
For the price they charge, you'd expect at least one of those things. You get none of them.
Gnomon may have been great 15 years ago. Whatever it was, it isn't that anymore. Save your money. Learn on youtube.
