Google can't play as there services are terrible

Google play are rude, ignorant and take customers for granted.recently I purchased a top up card so I could participate in a limited time event in a game I play, after I bought the card and followed the instructions to the letter I found that the code was damaged (not printed properly) and I was unable to redeem it ,I tried to contact Google play customer services to discuss the issue I was having and get a swift resolution so I could take part in the event I'd bought it for,I couldn't get to speak to a human but had to endure an electronic process that involved various questions and sending photographic evidence of the damaged card after giving everything they asked for they asked for pictures of all 4 corners of the card which I sent immediately however they requested then again !! The messing about took 3 DAYS so I missed the event I was going to be part of .I received no apology or offer of compensation or goodwill gesture even though it was a fault with the card and nothing I had done .I have contacted them several times telling them this and expressing my disappointment and dissatisfaction and I have been completely ignored !! I assume its because they have a monopoly and know you have to top up through them!! I will think carefully before doing so again as they ruined my day by making it impossible to enjoy the event with my friends and I would urge caution before relying on them ir their lacklustre customer services ..!! A little update its now been approximately a week since complaining to Google play and I'm still been totally ignored !! What a lovely attitude to have to your customers when your product is faulty and causes so much trouble, surely at the very least an apology wouldn't have hurt them too much !!oh well tgat seems to be the normal these days unfortunately, companies care little and take no responsibility for anything even when they are 100% in the wrong and you have receipts and the faulty goods as proof

Erroneous payments from Google Play…

Erroneous payments from Google Play have been applied to my UK mobile account for some time now. After several weeks of communication still no confirmation of what the premiums relate to or what goods or services are being supplied. Poor service beyond belief.

No money back when their player is broken

I just rented a movie which was not able to be played (it has been working before). I did all they stated at their website to do for making their player work.

As I then wanted my money back, I found a way (via an internet search - not visible via their site) to make a complaint. Then I got an automated response back from a no-reply mail-address, saying ".. but we can't provide a refund for this purchase because it doesn't meet our policy."

When reading the policy, there is no reason why I couldn't get a refund - their refund policy for "Google Play Movies and Tv Refunds" as of 16. july 2021 says:

"If your video won't play properly, try these tips to fix playback issues. If you would still like a refund or you are requesting the refund for another reason, see the info below.

You have up to 7 days to return Google Play Movies & TV content, as long as you haven’t started watching it. If your movie or TV show is defective, unavailable, or doesn’t perform as stated, you can request a refund anytime..."

Yes - my problem is that I "started watching", i.e. "pressed play" - but the video didn't play. Are Googles customers so little worth in their grand scheme - that we deserve to be scammed?

If this is the game in the Google app…

If this is the game in the Google app store then I'm confused by most of these reviews they make absolutely no sense except for the first one who claimed they only got 1.90 expecting $20??? I doubt that I mean it takes a lot of play and a lot of gold coinage to make that in one day. Sorry buddy. I'm trying to fig out the value of the coins so I can set my own goal and stop playing.after making a few bucks honestly I'd be happy with $3-$5 a day but I think that's a lot of time which really doesn't make it worth it if you have a life. So for now my goal is $1 a day and I add to my Amazon gift card balance. But i think I each day the daily goal is higher making it harder to earn what yiu earned the day before??? I think? So afraid even more time consuming and making it even less worthy of my time. I play The Millionaire Trivia game bc I love trivia. So maybe there's other games that rack up more coinage faster if so and your reading this let me know. Lol

The apps just aren't very good

The apps on this Play store (which is basically all Android apps) aren't very good, especially compared to iPhones. Plenty of apps from major companies are incredibly subpar. Words With Friends crashes way more on Android than on iPhones. The New York Times Android app weirdly reloads while you're reading an article, forcing you to lose your place. The Delta Airlines app can't pull up your flights even though you're logged in, and you have to type in your flight confirmation number every time you want to check your flight's status. The McDonald's Android app can't seem to place orders half the time, instead showing a error message such as 'invalid store ID'. These issues would never happen on an iPhone.

On top of that, Google frequently deletes negative reviews to make their apps look better.

Very intrusive app.

Firstly, badly named! Play? Heavy on games, and many are promoted, but there's many serious apps that don't come under the description 'Play'.
Far worse, it's very intrusive.
Messages to phones go back before the Internet. They are directed to the phone number, no Internet involved. My messaging works perfectly.
BUT, Play services say there's an error every time a message arrives. There is no error! To rectify, Google Play instructs a user to allow access to 'location'.
NOT NECESSARY. Messages go to the phone number, wherever in the world the phone is located. At home or roaming, Location is not required.
Google want to track the users every move!

GooglePlay- Buyer Beware!

I’m really disappointed with the arrogant, uncaring attitude of the (possibly) autobits at googleplay. I subscribed to an app and cancelled it on the very same day when I realised it wasn’t what was “described on the tin” (Better Me). I’ll write a different review on that- as I obviously didn’t like it. I asked Better Me for a refund, but they sent me to GooglePlay. They said no, but I could ask BetterMe. Where’s the consumer protection? And the email from GooglePlay makes it clear that they don’t give a toss whether you like their policy of not, but once they have ur $20 they ain’t ever gonna return it. It’s not a lot of cash but multiplied by the users- well, that’s a lovely Ponzi scheme right there. So BEWARE - check whatever app it is in every way possible BEFORE signing up on GooglePlay- because you will kiss the money goodbye and have absolutely no recourse to get back your hard earned.

They should be ashamed

I bought a subscription app through Google play, I never received my subscription the developer of the app has no recollection of me being a customer.
Google won't refund me. This is what they said.
Google can no longer process the refund because it is already outside Google's Refund Policy, so basically there policy allows them to steal money from you.
So I am out of pocket £59.99.
This review is my warning to others thinking of using googleplay.

This Company Endorses Stealing from Outside Companies

After a year of my complaining about various companies on their platform robbing and stealing from me they refuse to do anything about it allowing these companies to continue to rob the american public from their hard working dollars so they can collect a fee and although they say they did a investigation they can NOT share their findings ! If you haven't noticed WE ARE NOT A COMMUNIST COUNTRY! All finding s must ne shared with the piblic or it leads to suspicion of collusion. WE DESERVE SO MUCH MORE. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN GOOGLE PLAY FOR TAKING THIS STANCE

Free App Con

Hi all app fans. Google play store offers Hundreds and Hundreds and Hundreds of free game downloads, and that's great, but here's the rub. It would seem, that regardless of how many ads you watch to receive free coins or credits or gold. The games will not allow you to progress unless; you make in app purchases. So let us consider My most recent experience. I was playing Golf Clash.I needed a golf fix because I have been unable to play Golf for a year. All this covid 19 lock down, so on and so forth. Any hoo I was playing Golf Clash and ended up taking seven shots of the tee that I did not release, the app did that for me. So good people all the down loaders of google play, please bare in mind that every time you watch an ad to gain free gold or credits or coins, google gets a financial kick back. Let us unite and demand fair game play. There are many people out there that cannot afford, in app purchases, they have mortgages to pay and families to feed, all they want is a little game time to take their mind off of things; just for a little while. We should all be able to progress through a game without in app purchase, instead of being beaten by a Bot. that has inferior equipment. Play the games and post reviews. Till the next time. TA TA

Googleplay customer service is bad

Googleplay customer service is bad. Im just irritated about the advice they gave me. You would think that a company that earns so much money would have competent people working for them. Cheapos. They can't select staff with wisdom!

2 factor on payments by default over all devices!

Update 2024: things can only get better!
And they did. Have 3 stars.

They are as bad as Amazon.
If you want us to store payment info with you then it should be protected!
And in this day and age that means 2 factor by default on all devices.
No per device opt in.
It should be all devices by default and then opt out per device!
Honestly though you were better than this Google.
Guess money over security?
