BOUCHER LINCOLN AND MOLD..
BOUCHER LINCOLN AND MOLD... For your health and safety, and that of your family, please read this review!
My name is Dr. Richard Salm. I am a dentist in Brookfield, WI and own the dental practice "Smiles For Miles Family Dentistry". As a business owner, I do not take lightly the fact that I am leaving a negative review about another local business. However, for the past three months, Lincoln Boucher has put the health of my family at significant risk. At this point, it is confirmed that I have been sold a vehicle with mold in the ventilation system, but as of the time of this review, they refuse to address this problem in a the serious manner that is a necessary with mold. As my family, including my small children, have been unnecessarily exposed to mold for months, I feel an obligation to share my experience and warn others. I hope that you are able to protect your children better than I have been able to protect mine.
In June 2024, I purchased a lightly used certified pre-owned Lincoln Navigator. The following day, I noticed a strong smell of VINEGAR emitting through the air vents. I immediately informed Boucher Lincoln and continued to inform them of this daily problem over the following three months. Meanwhile, I was consistently informed by them that they were unable to reproduce the odor. Regardless, the description of the odor is so highly suggestive of mold that this should have immediately been addressed in a serious manner. Instead, Boucher Lincoln tried to resolve the odor, unsuccessfully, three times! I have recently been advised my multiple car mechanics that if there is mold in the air box, the only way to resolve the issue is to take everything apart to completely remove it... A process that takes approximately 20 hours! I imagine that Boucher Lincoln thinks that telling me that they cannot reproduce the odor justifies the fact that they have not already undertaken this more costly repair. They continually made me feel like I was the problem and gave the information I provided little merit.
Very recently, I researched how to test for mold. The testing resulted in two thriving mold cultures, photos of which I promptly shared with Boucher Lincoln. At this point, I would have thought that the source of the odor could no longer be debated and Boucher Lincoln would jump into action to protect my family's health. Unfortunately, this has not been the case. The source of the odor is still contested and resolution delayed. Currently, I am being told that I need to wait for the to work through whatever steps the company has in place before providing me potential options for resolution. The funny thing is, after over three months of mold exposure and three failed attempts on their end to fix it, you would think that I would have already satisfied any potential requirements!
During the last couple of conversations with Boucher Lincoln, I have heard some very concerning statements. First, a regional manager attempted to devalue the mold cultures as he suggested they were a result of mold spores in the air, not the vehicle. How this could be suggested, when you have a positive sample growing a culture of mold, along with a long-standing vinegar-like odor reported by the owner, is beyond me! In another conversation, this time with the location manager, I was told that that they have done nothing wrong and according to Wisconsin Law, they have no obligation to do anything. I am not an attorney, so I do not know if this is true. I do know, though, that Boucher Lincoln sold me a vehicle that has been exposing my family to mold for months. I also know that they were made aware, within the first week of the purchase and many times over the following three months, that this vehicle's ventilation system continued to emit a vinegar-like odor daily, even after their failed intervention. Now, I have a mold culture growing that undeniably proves what I knew all along, but still no admittance of the source of the problem or resolution. FOR THE HEALTH OF YOUR FAMILY, BUYERS BE AWARE.
