Unfortunately, our experience with Gr8 Fires was far less positive than many of the reviews we had read. We discovered their media wall kit on Instagram and felt it would be a perfect fit for our home. We placed our order on 20 November and were given a delivery date of 27 November, with the intention of assembling it before Christmas. My partner and I both took the day off work to receive the delivery; however, it never arrived.
We contacted both Gr8 Fires and DX, only to be told that the parcel could not be located. We were advised to wait while DX investigated, a process that took an entire week despite daily follow-ups and repeated promises of call-backs that never materialised. Eventually, we spoke to a member of staff named Hannah at Gr8 Fires, who was genuinely helpful and arranged a redelivery. Unfortunately, by this point the media wall kit was out of stock, so the components had to be sent separately as they became available.
The full kit did not arrive until 9 December—almost three weeks after the original order date. When it did arrive, the condition of the delivery was extremely poor. The boxes were heavily damaged, soaking wet, and covered in marks. Several media wall panels were dented, the electric fire’s frame was warped, and the electrical plug had snapped off.
Given the stress and difficulty we had already experienced just trying to receive the goods, we were strongly put off returning the items and instead had to repair them ourselves to make the product functional. Overall, we would not order from this company again. The delivery issues and associated stress far outweighed the convenience of a flat-pack media wall, and in hindsight we could have built one ourselves in the same timeframe.
