Totally Disappointed with the Service Provided
I am completely disappointed with the service I received from Grant Thornton as my tax adviser. After appointing them and paying thousands of pounds for the Phase 1 financial analysis, I expected a thorough breakdown of my situation. However, after three weeks, all I received was an email with a summary table and a suggestion to proceed to Phase 2, which would cost me another thousands of pounds.
Since I decided not to proceed with Phase 2, I requested the detailed analysis from Phase 1 so I could review it and make informed decisions on my next steps. Shockingly, they refused to provide the details, claiming it was just a draft and not a final report. They even mentioned I would need to pay extra for a final report. The frustrating part is, I don't need a polished report—just the detailed analysis that I paid for to understand my situation. This is completely unacceptable.
Additionally, when I questioned one of their conclusions regarding a tax item, they couldn’t confirm their findings and requested more information to clarify. However, they never asked for this information during Phase 1, when I was fully prepared to provide whatever was necessary. As professionals, their conclusions should have been solid, especially considering the high fees involved.
In summary, I feel like I paid a significant amount for a service that didn’t deliver what was promised. I expected a professional, comprehensive analysis, and unfortunately, that is not what I received.

I don't expect a response and judging by other reviews I'm not alone and I doubt the companies who do business with GT will take note either.
My father invested in a Lehman Bank fund abbreviated as NDF and when it collapsed he was out of pocket by 14k
Despite assurances in the press that there was a huge amount of assets in prime property in financial sectors of major international cities it became apparent that this would take several years to realise .
The situation was too much for my father who had been an active 80 year old he deteriated and passed away.
GT were the liquidators and I'm led to believe still are but I've heard nothing from them over the past 5 years despite numerous letters and emails to them .
The press and social media lead me to believe that substantial costs continue to be taken by GT but my father's estate has recieved nothing

Once again the arrogance of Brighthouse…
Once again the arrogance of Brighthouse and GT dealing with their administration never ceases to amaze me. Complaint upheld in that that they haven’t updated my credit file for four months, so is now incorrect but apparently an apology is ok for this , I’m not entitled to any compensation and I can’t appeal it to any one.
It was the same arrogance I encountered from them with an affordability complaint.

Have you heard of parasites predators that's what springs to mind with this very shady company back then in year 2008 trustees office in edinburgh what a falce cover they are mass profit making they help sell your house take thousands for themselves and send u a cheque for whats left but they made sure in my case that i received the cheque on a sat morning so that i had w/k end to sweat on it the trustee was called John Montague a licenced theif who cost me 110k and my house basically ruined my life ..trust me they are corrupt accountants and if anyone happens to be made bankrupt believe me you r in trouble .seek immediate help from the court's

A greedy, vile company who take millions for themselves whilst doing a terrible job at performing administration for closed companies and then say there isnt enough money to pay the creditors more than 14p per £1. Those who work for them should be equally ashamed.

My ex-husband and I had a joint IVA with them in 2011, which failed (that's another story).
They put pressure on us to provide documentation pre-IVA.
They told us that we would not be able to pay in anything less than £300.00 per month into the IVA with them or any other IVA company as it would be pointless in taking out an IVA. I learnt that this was not true through various sources including a friend who was able to pay in £150.00 per month into hers with another company.
I was also told that we could not shop around for another IVA company in the two week cooling-off period post signing the IVA Agreement with GT. Another lie.
We were told that once the expenses had been paid for the Nominator and the Case Holder, that all monies would then be paid into the IVA itself - funny how the creditors received nothing after the first £3,800 was paid (for the expenses!) This means that approximately £2,200.00 was not shared amongst the creditors. GT said this was due to other factors having to be addressed first such as paying for Admin Fees and other rubbish.
I have tried to file the complaint with the IS, but they are clearly biased against customers with complaints.

How Grant Thornton has handled this whole wonga fiasco is absolutely disgusting people owed thousands but are getting LESS than hundreds AND having to wait 2 months past the deadline... yet when wonga wanted money customers were harassed SHAME ON YOU

Wish I could give these jokers no stars. Very poor customer service. Still waiting for my wonga refund like so many others. Lost faith in the system,cos nobody is interested in us. I truly hope they all get sacked. .... But then again each one will walk away with a massive pay off. More than likely with our supposed refunds.
