If I could I would give no damn stars…

If I could I would give no damn stars at all. I went to walmart to put money on a card went to try and activate it. It was not letting metheny recipe says its activated and has money. Went to the online sight still shows nothing. Finally talked to someone at green dot. They said I was compromised wtf!!! so I should be getting a refund soon

Wish I could give negative stars

Wish I could give negative stars. I bought the card a month ago and filled out the paperwork to get a personalized one. Its been a month. They sent the card but it never reached me. Now I cant use the card until the new one gets here in 7 to 10 business days, if it gets here. They tried to charge a fee to replace the card they lost. Nope. It was their fault not mine. Now I cant pay my two bills until the card gets here. You could not hear 3/4 of what the rep said between the phone cutting out and a heavy accent. I had to ask for somwone else because I just could not understand him. Their customer service is horrible.

Green Dot will not let you activate the card or talk to a real person

I bought a prepaid Green Dot card and put $25 on it and it will not let me activate the card and when I call customer service they will not let you talk to a real person it keeps telling me to register the card but when I do it will not let me activated so I would not recommend using Green Dot I'm now out of $25 that I cannot use all just because they will not let me activate it and will not let me talk to a real person so messed up.

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have an Amazon Flex Debit card which is under Green Dot.
I had $795 in fraudulent charges on my account and immediately disputed them. Got a new card.
I did get my money back, but now the account is negative because they are claiming nothing was fraudulent.
Well they can go get bent. And I’m done. My account can be in the negative and I will never do business with them.

Experienced obvious fraud

Experienced obvious fraud. Thoroughly reported it. Bank did nothing. They service Apple Cash and when I explained again what happened to Apple Customer Service they assumed there was some sort of mixup and trying again would make it right. Spent over an hour on the phone before rep hung up. Never chose to do business with this bank and obviously never would if given the choice. Nightmare.

Adeline was so sweet and beyond helpful!! Fast service

I have had my Greendot card for many years and use it on a regular basis. There was a scam transaction trying to push itself through and Greendot notified me immediately. I called and in a very short time and with ease, Adeline, who was so sweet and went above and beyond, is rushing me a new card. She helped me more than I can say. Thank you guys so much for all the years having me as a customer!!

Don’t ever spend one cent of your money…

Don’t ever spend one cent of your money for any service with this so called bank offers. All they are good for is taking your money and never giving even the simplest service in return. By far the biggest rip off bank ever formed. You may as well put your money in the store trash can. Don’t do it, don’t make the terrible mistake of Green Dot Bank.

Clear fraud on my son's apple cash…

Clear fraud on my son's apple cash account. Multiple successive payments to Tik Tok for Business were sent out of his apple cash account. He doesn't have a TikTok account and has never subscribed or made a payment to them. The transactions were in Euros, we live in the US. Clear fraud. Customer Service at Green Dot is unwilling to understand that this was fraud. Same exact thing is happening to many other people. Don't use Apple Cash, and if you do, keep a very small balance, otherwise, it may be stolen and you have no recourse. This bank will likely reject the claim. They are at a minimum, incompetent. They are a danger to your money, maybe Apple will wake up and move to a partner that isn't this horrible.

wow worst customer service

wow, I am not surprised that this company has a one star review on trust pilot. My account got locked for simply trying to add my kid to my Apple Pay and when I call, they have absolutely no idea why it’s locked and can give you no information other than them they have to escalate it and it’ll take over 48 hours. I asked for a supervisor to at least give me a reason why it was locked so I know what not to do next time and they cannot tell me. It blows my mind that in 2026. You cannot tell me a reason why something happened. What an absolute joke this company is. I actually asked them if this is a real company operating in America because I couldn’t believe how incompetent the people the answer the phone there are.

I call this the dirty green dot money vanishing act by green dot purchased a new sealed visa debt card…

I purchased a new sealed visa debt card that I needed to pay a few small bills with.... I went to CVS Gardena ca on Western ave . Purchased the card put 270.00 on the card went out to my car waited 15 min then checked my card ballance .. I called green dot and they made me the the suspect I told them how is that possible I have the recpt in hand and the card they to say on 1 call I shouldn't have used a third party app and hung up on me call number 2 was just as useless they said they can't help me the account had a zero balance the third call I went to fraud dept and when they asked about it I replayed it is green dot that committed fraud the girl giggled and said you file fraud against green dot I explained to the dumb ... Girl CVS took my money and put it on a card and my card and that know trans action had been made on that card they are in control of your money and the card but when money vanishes from your card they say we can't help me and they want me to put my direct deposit in green dot I THINK NOT I AM HERE TO TELL EVERY ONE THAT GREEN DOT CAN BE SUED GET YOU A ATTORNEY AND GO TO TOWN THE 270 THEY STOLED OR LET BE SOLD IS GOING TO COST THEM 5 TIMES THE AMOUNT THE SCREWED ME OUT OF I HAVE BEEN REAL Depressed NOT SLEEPING AT NITE GOOD AND STILL OWE THE PEOPLE I GOT THE CARD TO PAY I AM HOMLESS AND TRY READ HARD TO MAKE ENDS MEET SO THE ATTORNEY I GOT TOOK MY CASE HE SAID IF WE DONT WIN YOU DONT PAY IF WE win He SUES THEM FOR MORE TO COVER MY SUFFERING AND HRS I SPENT ON THE PHONE AND GOT NOTING DONE PEOPLE DONT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR it WONT STOP UNTIL I GET MINE

Stay away from them

Stay away from them. They charge you with a fee even if it is a gift card. And the account activation is terrible experience.I uploaded my documents so many times and it keeps on giving an error message. Then they force you to call them, when you call, they say the account is good.

Do not get this card

Do not get this card. I was gifted this card which the buyer and I thought was a gift card. There was a red flag when I had to give SS # etc to activate. I activated the card but never used it. Went to use the card and was declined. I checked the account online and have a negative balance because monthly fees were taken out for months and I had no idea. No refund or anything.

This is the worst company ever…

This is the worst company ive ever had to deal with. I signed up for the card, putomey on it, and now they will not let me have my money back. This is theft! Ducking worthless pieces of horse dung wont let me get my money back. The government should shutdown this bank for theft.

Crappy account protection and customer service

Today our account was hit with 21 transactions from the same place, we did not do any business with this place, don't know how they got the account number. This place. All where pending, called Green Dot, will issue a new card( big whoop) , will not put a stop on transactions,after they run through we can file a dispute. My wife has the alert activated, but did not receive any alerts. This is a crappy way of taking care of customers, evidently it's easy to hack them or they employ a bunch of crooks.

You don't deserve any stars in my book fraud alert and Green Dot took 175.00 for me

You don't deserve any stars in my book. I only placed one star because I had no choice. I purchased a Green Dot card at a 7-Eleven store because I needed to visit my very ill mother in Las Vegas I'm wanted to make sure I had the funds available. Several days later I went to activate the card and they told me that I could not activate the card because it was already registered to somebody else's name. I deposited $175 on this card. I complained and was told to send in a copy of my receipt. I did exactly as I asked. I was informed that I was not going to get my $135 back because of money Louis no longer available. This is fraud if I've ever seen it this is very bad business on their part now I'm out $175 cannot go see my very own mother. All because they don't know how to handle their business. Allowing people to fraudulently get a hold of the card numbers information before the card was even sold. You should be ashamed of yourself Green Dot . This is totally not fair why I am I the one that is out 135 because of green dots bad business practices

This company is a rip off

This company is a rip off. This makes twice Ive purchased card at store tried to activate it and keep getting technical issues message and then next thing I know I'm being sent ro fraud dept when after hours I finally get ahold of someone not a bot. Now because of the times I spent trying activate stupid card they say I can't get my 180.00 and 100.00 another time. I can't use it til they decide if I can . I have receipt sent it in to where supposed to and I can't pay electric bill now because of this place stealing my money . Still don't have my money after doing all I was told . I filed complaint at bbb and now I'm going to police dept to file theft on this company .
