Be warned-do not use this company.
I believe future customers who are looking to engage with this company should be made aware of exactly how poorly they are equipped and conduct and operate their business.
The list of issues with their plumbing and electrical workmanship was very extensive on our new build property. GFE were unable to fulfill pretty much all the work they carried out and what they did complete was either flawed, faulty, damaged, missed or incorrectly positioned.
The following is just some of the issues -
1. For 12 months their ‘renewable's expert’ (Rylan Sibley-who was also supposedly managing our project) was unable to connect my Photovoltaic panels to generate electricity and constantly blaming the issue on faulty panels. This was then rectified by an independent 3rd party within two hours of them attending. The independent 3rd party also pointed out the
2. inverter had been incorrectly installed to regulations.
The project manager mentioned above had numerous occasions where he was uncontactable for several weeks at a time, without putting arrangements in place to allow for this. That was incredibly frustrating having other trades waiting on instructions, and was also costly.
3. GFE had no understanding of how to install the ground source heat pump (GSHP) so that it would work correctly. GFE had messed up not only the circulation pumps but were also unable to get the heat pump to correspond with the thirteen hard wired thermostats around the building. So for three years with GFE not admitting their workmanship was faulty or incorrectly installed, we had to manually control the heating system ourselves. GFE could have used this as a learning experience, working on ways to install the equipment correctly, but they just wouldn’t acknowledge responsibility, instead constantly denying there was anything wrong with their installation.
4. The Under floor heating (UFH) design (which now cannot be changed) was such that all the rooms have been linked into the same circuit, this meant that the house was running at one temperature irrespective of all the individual room thermostats which had been hardwired into the house, that we could do nothing about.
5. GFE wired my external lighting circuit into the house downstairs lighting circuit, meaning if any of the outside lights tripped then the whole house would trip. This was done just so GFE could save money, time and materials, which had been paid for in full.
6. GFE missed numerous items off the schedule that I had supplied to them before the building work started, but GFE still managed to charge me in full for these missed items arguing and lying that they were not included.
7. Amongst many other items throughout the house, GFE damaged our lovely polished concrete floor (and again this can-not be rectified). GFE damaged nearly all the light fittings they installed, they were unable to install the LED strip lighting correctly, the first fix wiring meant that the switches, speakers and sockets were all positioned incorrectly which once you come to second fix little can be rectified and we as the customer should not have to check these details once an electrical diagram has been supplied. The list goes on. GFE were even unable to invoice properly, consistently overcharging.
8. They literally ruined everything they touched!
After THREE long years of trying to get GFE to sort out their mistakes, which they would never take ownership for and constantly denied and avoided taking responsibility, even though it was validated by qualified external independent companies coming in to look at GFE workmanship.
Basically GFE did everything they could to try not to address the issues which led us to eventually pursuing the legal route to get some kind of compensation.
Dealing with the GFE employees and management(Paul Robinson owner) was with out doubt the worst experience I have had with any company, they lied constantly, and I know from their employees that we were not the only ones that experienced these issues. To be honest I am not sure how this company gets away with it, they have absolutely no morals or integrity whatsoever….use them at your own peril!
