Concerns About Upcoming Interior Unit Repairs for Water Intrusion

I have been living at this Greentree property in the Adams Point area of Oakland for over 18 years and was the manager at this location for 12 years until the property was sold to Veritas/Greentree. Maintenance issues for the apartments are usually taken care of in a timely manner --- however ---- property repairs (i.e. construction, etc.) leave MUCH to be desired. We recently had scaffolding put up for at least a month to repair the outside of the property for (non-major) leaks into certain windows. We were NOT told the completion of this project would take place INSIDE our units (with major disruptions) until approximately one week prior to the 11/17/2025 date. I live alone, am a senior citizen with two, young animals who I cannot relocate during this project plus --- I have an upcoming surgery. I will be unable to leave my unit during this inside project and have asked the PM if I can have this rescheduled for a later date, if at all. Thus far, I have not received any type of response. I'm very concerned.

This is a Corporation-Run Landlord -- Run!

This company is a landlord run by a speculating capitalist corporation whose bottom line is profit and tenants are only tools by which the corporation gains and benefits. Apparently, though it is the largest landlord in San Francisco, California, it is poorly managed financially and over-extended in debt such that this corporate landlord will cut back on repairs, cut back on its responsibilities to tenants, and keep communication with tenants to the merest minimum of efficiency such that emotional abuse of and contempt for tenants are not easily discernible from stupidity or incompetence..

If you follow the journalistic writings about this corporation either from the newspapers or online, you cannot miss the fact that this corporation has a horrible reputation as a greedy, self-serving landlord, and the property manager, the building manager and the maintenance department prove monthly that this reputation is well-deserved.

Ironically, GreenTree Property Management keeps asking tenants if they would recommend their "service" (meaning the lack of service and lack of maintenance) to their friends. Anyone who would recommend this landlord to a friend is really doing that friend a very bad turn.

Though all of its apartments are expensively priced at what the market can bear, the quality of management and care provided to each and every tenant is no different from a slumlord's treatment and at one point, even the Board of Supervisors had to get involved to stop tenants from getting ripped off by this corporation that was looking for illegal gains by pawning off its mortgage payments in one building onto the tenants as a rent increase.
