Awful service. Wouldn't use them again if they were the last conveyancing company on earth. Probably moot now since Dudedil are showing them as 'In Liquidation'

Amazing!

I was worried when I saw the reviews for Griffiths Ings however my IFA recommended them so I trusted his judgement and I am SO glad I did. Geraldine was incredible! Her communication was second to none, she was always readily available via email or phone and she explained every step to us which was amazing as this was the purchase of our first house so we were new to everything.
She also chased the sellers for us when things were moving slowly and acted in our best interests from the beginning. They are also very affordable and fairly priced. Couldn't recommend them highly enough!!

Griffiths Ings - Barry Office - Abysmal Customer Service

If I could leave a minus star rating, I would! Avoid using this firm at all costs. I am a business owner myself and If I treated my clients / customers with the same utter incompetence that Griffith Ings have shown towards me, I simply wouldn't be in business for long. I'm now entering the fourth month following completion and they still refuse to return a £500 "retention fee" that they included in the fees deducted from me. Despite numerous phone calls and emails from me they still claim to be "chasing" it up and waiting for other people to confirm receipt of documents etc. This unacceptable customer service has forced me to contact the legal ombudsman to resolve.

DO NOT USE ThIS COMPANY EVER.

DO NOT USE ThIS COMPANY EVER.I wish I’d looked at this site prior to using this company. Staff are never available and they don’t return calls or emails. When carrying out my sale completion they held back monies (over ten months ago!) and I am still trying to get this money back. Now going to contact another solicitor and the regulatory body in order to get my own money. Totally wrong.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
Totally agree with all the reviews on here - they don’t return calls, emails and are very unprofessional bunch. Landed into troubles (taking a hit financially too) because they didn’t check all aspects of conveyancing before completion. Had to raise a complaint over two weeks ago and inspite of numerous calls and emails, I’m still waiting for an acknowledgement letter from their director.

Scam

I am in the process of taking advice to formally complain about this firm. The previous reviewer is right. All of the previous reviewers are. This firm profits on mass volume sales from new first time buyers on huge new developments. Those new buyers are forced to exchange contracts in 28 days, months before their property is built. Once exchanged you are ignored. Totally ignored and have to do your own conveyancing. They know you are screwed because you are tied into completion, so don't care and ignore basic questions about the property arrangements, like common land management arrangements. I suspect that they are actually representing the best interests of the developers. This company should be investigated.
I agree with the previous reviewer. If you see a toothless beggar then give them your money and ask them to do your conveyancing. Or just give it to them and expect nothing. This is Griffiths Ings.

if you come across a toothless beggar …

if you come across a toothless beggar sitting in a puddle of his own urine begging for change I recommend using this poor creature when buying a house instead of hiring this woefully inept firm of solicitors. wilfully disregarding the need of it's customers. shouldn't be allowed to practice. truly awful service.

Worst solicitors I have ever dealt …

Worst solicitors I have ever dealt with, just wish I had read the reviews before hiring, they did come recommended by the estate agent, Allen Harris but I have given them my feedback and hopefully they will no longer recommend, I did half the work for them and if it wasn't that we kept in contact with our buyers, we would not have known what was happening half of the time! Customer service is very poor. I did complain, but they just didn't want to know the most stressfull 13 weeks of my life!!

Absolutely awful solicitors

Absolutely awful solicitors! Would never recommend this solicitors, they keep you waiting for no reason and don't get anything done. They make a house sale unnecessarily stressful, when it should be an exciting thing to do. They make even the most simple things seem difficult. If you are in no rush whatsoever and don't mind waiting forever for your house sale or purchase and not really bothered about customer service then these are the right people for you.

The worst conveyancing firm I have ever …

The worst conveyancing firm I have ever used.

I was buying a property from a willing seller. We were both keen to proceed and despite no known reason for hold ups, it took about 5 months to go complete. This cost me thousands extra as the unnecessary delays caused meant we missed the stamp duty deadline of 1st April 2017 so stamp duty became payable on this transaction, it wouldn't have been, a day earlier.

We completed on 2nd of April which tells me, they that despite the process starting in Nov 2016, Griffiths Ings finally pulled their finger out late March in a lame attempt to complete before 1st April. Then found there was a rush on (due to Stamp Duty changes coming in) so the phone lines were engaged at the mortgage companies etc.

I was in frequent contact with the seller who kept telling me his solicitor couldn't believe how long Griffiths Ings were taking to respond and also why their enquires where coming in dribs and drabs over an extended period.

I wouldn't dream of using Griffths Ings if they were the last conveyancing firm on the planet.

Oh, just to add insult to injury, (not all) but one of their male employees was EXTREMELY rude to me on the phone, when I was being completely civil, expressing my disappointment with the service.
The only credit due is that Sally Griffiths was always civil to me.

Sean Browne.
