Grittleton House is a grand gothic…

Grittleton House is a grand gothic wedding and event venue set in secluded grounds near to London, Bath and Bristol. I am a wedding photographer who recently photographed a summer wedding there. The day ran like clockwork due in large part to well organised staff ( in particular Emma , the event organiser)and a really good network of quality suppliers, used to working together. It's a great venue if you are looking for a venue with room for lots of people (100-200 guests at ceremony and meal) and lots of great locations for photography from a swirling gothic staircase beneath beautiful blue and gold Rococo ceilings to a large, light and airy orangery that opens out onto a big garden with shade for photos in the sun -it has spaces that will really give your photos the wow factor! I also rated the food -I was lucky enough one be fed a three course meal the highlight of which was a r eally creamy Lemon Verbena Veg Risotto!

Lovely venue, accommodation staff and food

My husband and I attend our company’s Winter Ball and had a wonderful time with our colleagues .
The staff were lovely and attentive.
The house was lovely and we enjoyed staying overnight in The Firs.
The food was great for so many people
The grounds were stunning .
We wished we could have stayed longer .
I left some air buds in my room , and Vanessa personally posted them to me.
We definitely want to return .

I really wanted to write a good review…

I really wanted to write a good review for this place. It’s beautiful & charming. But unfortunately while we were staying at the stables, we realised how dangerous it is, An elderly family member tripped on the badly uneven ground and got injured quite badly. We had to call for an ambulance. She now had a swollen wrist, a broken hand, bruised body, two black eyes & a bruised & swollen nose. I’d suggest booking the main house until they sort out the paths around the stables. I have taken photos of the uneven ground. I hope this can be sorted out asap or at least blocked off to the public. Like I said, the main house & grounds are beautiful but not this part. I truly worry about future guests.

Grittleton House is an exceptional…

Grittleton House is an exceptional venue for anyone looking to host a special event. As a wedding photographer, I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding at this stunning location and was thoroughly impressed with its features and charm.

Upon arrival, the impressive tree-lined drive sets the tone for what's to come. The wow factor is certainly there as you approach the property. The interiors are breathtaking with its beautiful architecture, high decorative ceilings, working fireplaces and a sweeping staircase that takes your breath away. The secret doors and hidden passageways are a fun touch that adds to the unique character of the house.

The house was built for entertaining and it truly shines in this regard. With its large ballroom, cozy library, and elegant social spaces, there is ample room for guests to relax and enjoy the event. The orangery overlooking the Italian sunken gardens provides a breathtaking backdrop for any event. The recently refurbished state bedrooms are magnificent and offer a luxurious stay for the happy couple. For those looking for a more rustic experience, the old stable block offers a charming alternative.

Located close to Bath and Bristol, and with direct train links to London and beyond, Grittleton House is easily accessible for all guests. For those driving, it's just 5 minutes from the M4, with ample parking available.

In conclusion, Grittleton House is a magical and enchanting venue that will leave a lasting impression on all who attend. Its unique charm, impressive features, and elegant atmosphere make it a must-see for anyone looking to host an event. As a wedding photographer, I highly recommend Grittleton House as a venue for anyone looking for a special and memorable experience.

Kindest regards
The Kensington Photographer
