My driving instructor Maruf was fantastic, I would completely recommend him! He’s a super nice guy, very calm and caring, just what you’d want from a driving instructor. He’s great for a chat while you drive and super supportive. I’ve passed first try, and couldn’t be happier. He’s helped me be a tiger!

It was a very good experience with GDS. It was a very clear and easy instruction for people who are new to drive and I have passed my test within one month. So happy with everything. Really recommend to take lessons from GDS.

And its all thanks to Mr Sahak. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have passed with just 1 minor fault and I wouldn't have been stuck with a smile on my face all day.
I went from making like a gazillion faults to 1 minor. He made me truly understand the rules of the road and had was patient and calm when it came to teaching me. Even when I close to ripping off his steering wheel.
All jokes aside,
Mr Sahak is an incredible instructor, really taught me how to drive safetly and confidently. There is instructor out there like him.

I’m so happy to share that I passed my driving test today with just 3 minor faults — all thanks to Maruf bhai and Guidelines Driving School!

Learning with Maruf bhai was a completely different experience compared to other instructors I’ve tried. He was patient, observant, and really focused on helping me improve. Every small mistake I made, he noticed right away and explained how to fix it in a way that made sense. I never felt rushed or judged — just supported.

I took only 7 lessons, plus one on the test day, and still felt fully ready. He was always on time, flexible with scheduling, and really committed to helping me pass. When I struggled with roundabouts, he didn’t just tell me what to do — he demonstrated by driving himself, which helped a lot.

What really impressed me was his effort on test day — he arranged a car for me with just 10 hours’ notice, and made time for a last-minute practice session right before the exam, which gave me a lot of confidence.

I’m genuinely grateful for everything. Thank you so much to Guidelines Driving School, and a big thanks to Maruf bhai — I’d 100% recommend him to anyone who wants to learn the right way and pass with confidence.

I was looking for a driving school to help me with professional lessons in Coventry after having been taught all the basics by my partner. Wasn't happy with the first school I searched on Google as their feedback was not detailed and they weren't willing to come to CV4. I looked for a school with better reviews and found Guidelines Driving school with very high ratings. I had my first driving assessment with Maruf who is a gentleman and extremely professional. Be it the PDF version of the feedback for future reference and his knowledge and patience in explaining to a first time driver like me was simply the best. The best part is that the test routes looked so familiar on test day since every lesson covered parts of it. For me, navigation around roundabouts was a nightmare and I have to say, thanks to Maruf's instructions I aced it on test day. I cannot recommend Guidelines Driving School enough as all the classes were held at my convenience with pickup and drop offs at my choice of location. Glad to say I passed my test on my first attempt yesterday and it still feels surreal. I couldn't have done it without this amazing driving school under Maruf's tutelage. Thank you once again!

How very un professional Maruf had been giving my son lessons and then end of May advised he has an emergency and has to leave the country but I can see on the comments below he’s still in the country. My son has his test booked and Maruf has not been in contact. I know emergencies can happen but why would you not contact your student. Really really disappointed. He has found another instructor who is professional on time and does not make up so many excuses.

I had the pleasure of doing my lessons with Maruf. I started with zero experience and over the past 6 months Maruf has made me into such a confident excellent driver. His patience is amazing, he will always back you and make you feel like you are amazing. It's also been so lovely to have such a kind driving instructor you can talk to and have a laugh with! Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better driving instructor than Maruf. From the very first lesson, he made me feel comfortable behind the wheel, even though I was super nervous at first. One thing I really appreciated about him was how easy he made everything feel he has a great sense of humour, which made every lesson enjoyable and something I actually looked forward to. But at the same time, he always kept things focused and professional when it mattered.

One thing that really stuck with me was how much he believed in me. There were times I doubted myself or overthought things, but Maruf would just look at me and say, “Be a tiger!” That little phrase gave me the push I needed to stay focused and keep going. It helped me build confidence when I really needed it and it showed me that he genuinely wanted me to succeed.

His teaching style is also spot on. He doesn’t just tell you what to do he actually explains why things are done a certain way, which really helped me understand the logic behind everything. That made it easier for things to stick and helped me feel more in control, especially in trickier situations like roundabouts or parallel parking.

Thanks to Maruf’s support and guidance, I honestly don’t think I could’ve done it without his calm, detailed approach and the way he made every lesson feel like progress. If you’re looking for an instructor who’s patient, encouraging and genuinely committed to helping you succeed Maruf is the one.

My review is a little different to all the reviews left. I used GDS for my son who is 17 and the instructor gave up very quickly with him, however Mr Maruf contacted me swiftly and listened to all my concerns, he then even though he is very busy with learners, took on the responsibility of giving lessons to my son. He had his first lesson today and hasn’t stopped smiling, Maruf was nothing but patient with him and allowed him to use his two hours on the road driving, this had increased my sons confidence and he can’t wait for his next lesson. I hope this journey remains the same for him throughout and he enjoys his experience and passes when ready. Thank you Mr Maruf

Nothing but good things to say, I started off very nervous like most of us and tended to panic alot when confronted with new obstacles but Maruf was very patient with me. Even when I made the the same mistakes over and over again he kept supporting and pushing me especially as we approached the test date. Thx to him I was able to pass my driving test first try with only 4 minors. Overall I would definitely recommend Guidelines Driving School for all learners whether they are experienced or not. 👌

I got to know about Heshmat Taj (my driving instructor) from one of friends and learning to drive from him was such a pleasure. The way he explains concepts makes it easy to understand and the methods he employed to teach me helped me to pass my driving test in the first try. He has taught me how important it is to be patient and to follow the process even if it was frustrating but at the end it was worth it and made me a better driver. Grateful to be your student and Thank you for everything. I would Highly recommend any one to take a mock test with Heshmat and to trust him with his advice, if you want to get your licence in the first try.

Maruf is the best driving instructor any student could ask for!

Today I thankfully passed my driving test, and I can truly say that I couldn’t have done it without Maruf’s incredible support, patience, and kindness. My journey to this moment wasn’t easy. Having previously driven abroad on the right hand side, then spending years in the UK without driving, I developed new fears on the road and struggled with nerves. But from the very first lesson to the last, Maruf believed in me, even when I doubted myself.

What makes Maruf exceptional is the way he puts his heart into teaching. He is always willing to adapt, finding the best ways to help me learn from my mistakes. Whether it was recording videos on my phone so I could watch back and improve, carefully taking notes during numerous mock driving tests for me to review, drawing diagrams to break down tricky concepts, or giving me the space to understand and voice my mistakes, he showed unwavering professionalism, generosity, kindness, and patience. He would repeat a lesson as many times as needed, never losing faith in my ability. And he did it all with a great sense of humour like when he would jokingly say, “You need to be a tiger!” which always made me laugh.

His patience is endless, his encouragement is consistent, and his ability to turn fear into confidence is a true gift. Maruf genuinely cares, not just about helping his students pass their test, but about shaping them into safe, confident, and skilled drivers for life. And when I finally passed today, the joy he expressed was so heartfelt, it made the moment even more emotional and unforgettable!
