Horrible membership explaination (exploitative)
their membership does not state clealy enough that they will automatically charge you money, or how much they will charge.
They use their one time cheap book sign up to get people in and then hope they forget to cancel so they can automatically charge them, without them being warned next month and so on, so common but didnt expect it from them.
They know this is happening to people but did nothing to improve it from continuing, no warning, just a small sentence on sign up that they'll charge you some unknown amount every month. I dislike these types of companies and i recommend you to be careful and expect unethical small text

Hi Camilla.
The cheap book is a welcome book. As in welcome to the club. When we send the first book, we also send an e-mail telling how the membership works. As a member you don't have to buy any book, you just have to cancel it. If you forget to cancel, you are always welcome to send it back within to weeks.
I'm sorry to here, that it wasn't a good experience being a member here.

SNEAKY MARKETING - NO
Nice - got a book cheap for what - sneaky way to get not only ONE package, but a second package delivered to the door charging you 500DKK? Ridiculous - Nothing you can do unless you return it and pay 49,- for each package. MARKETING TACTICS AT ITS BEST.

I am are sorry to hear, that you feel that we are using sneaky marketing. That is not our intention at all.
When you ordered the first book for 49,00 kr. , you also signed up for a membership at Gyldendals Bogklub.
The conditions for the membership was stated clearly in the 'medlemsaftale' and in the e-mails that were sent to you right after you had ordered the first book.
In the same e-mails and on the webpage, we inform you that if the monthly book isn't cancelled in time, then we will send the book to you. If you wish to return the book, it will cost you 49,00 kr. That is also written clearly on the webpage and in the 'medlemsaftale'.

We didn't order anything and we should pay about 209 for the first one and 229 for the second
W t f should we pay for somthing we dont order
When we called customer service
They told us that there's someone has book something from the club in behalf of your account
When We ask her for the number of the person who call from . She refused it
And if we need to get out from this club that we will not sign up we should to pay about 400kr for something we didn't ask for it
The only thing that you will do it for my if you are honest that give me the number of person who has ask for this post
Or if you not give me the number I will describe your club like (((((Scam and fraud club)))))

Our phone seller spoke to Alaa and offered her a membership in the book club as well as a welcome package.
She has at all times been able refuse if she did not want it. But she accepted the terms and became a member.
After the conversation, the seller sends a confirmation-email with all the conditions and terms for the membership. She has three days to reply to the email and cancel the membership, in case she regrets.
Once the three days have elapsed, she will be created as a member. Here we've send a "welcome letter", where the conditions and terms also appear. It is further written that you have 14 days to regret.
We therefore consider that we have provided sufficient information about the membership conditions.
We are sorry, of course, if Alaa has not understood the membership agreement. But we don't hear from you untill 2 months after your enrollment in the book club.
In the meanwhile we have sent both welcome letter, emails and member magazines - so we don't understand why we hear from you this late!?

We can't sign up anyone without their permission.
If the package is adressed to your child, I imagine you've signed up on the website - here you've probably indicated the name.
would suggest you to contact customer service.
They can inform you about how you are enrolled in the book club and what you can do to cancel it.

Impossiblee to get out
I found it nearly impossible to get out of my membership. I ordered a product that apparently wasn't available, but they didn't tell me, so I had to call them and ask where it was. They answer e-mails after 3-4 weeks.
