I had all of my insurance - house, auto and umbrella - with Citizens for many years. Unfortunately, in 2022 I filed 2 separate claims. One was under my comprehensive coverage and the other under collision. Both involved incidents in parking lots. The first was fairly expensive, about $4000. The second involved a scratch to the other person's car. The company paid about $1800. Despite the fact that I hadn't filed any claim for auto insurance coverage for decades (I'm in my 60's), the company decided in 2024 to cancel my auto insurance. I guess I should have paid for the repairs out of my pocket instead of going to the insurance company. But I thought that's what insurance was for. Lesson learned.

Had homeowners insurance claims twice in 50 year. The process was positive for 2 reasons:
1. Brian Vincent, the independent agent in Novi, MI who first recommend CITIZENS actively guided the whole process, inspectors, contractors choices, etc.
2. My interactions with CITIZENS people were very positive. We spoke openly about the situation and they made sure the coverage was completely fair.

We have had Citizens for years, insuring our home and auto. Great, flawless service and competitive pricing. Quick and efficient with auto damage claims. 5 - Star!

Great follow up by my Agent since the beginning of the incident until the claim was closed

As an ex-agent that has represented Citizens Insurance, I'm disappointed in my claims experience. Our claim has been dragging on for over a month, even though we have done everything as requested at all points in the process. Loss date was 2/15, we obtained an estimate from their shop on 2/19. We were just informed our vehicle is now a total loss - over a month after our initial estimate. It feels like this could have been handled more proactively by Citizens and their contracted body shop. Just very disappointing all around. Unfortunately, I will be shopping around at my next renewal.

Quick and convenient - friendly as well...

The adjustor made it very easy to get the glass replaced. The shop was great, and everything was deceived on time.

I had storm damage to two barns. I was grateful to be able to get them restored without difficulty.

Had to make a claim and it went so well and efficient I was surprised!

the broker for Citizens in Miami constantly harassed us for new roofs, inspections and trying to outsource the policy to his friends. The rate in a month was going up from $6500 to $9K!! I was able to get USAA to insure us for $3700. The stress and constant conflicts with Citizens thru this broker are now gone!
