Very poor service and even worse 'bird feed'....(weed).

Ordered a few items including mealworm and seasonal bird seed. Received an email saying mealworm was delayed but nothing about my other items. 12 later still no mealworm. Sent email and then told mealworm was delayed until end of month. So further delay and 'no' communication. Then to add to the poor service the 'seed' is awful. The birds don't like it, it gets thrown everywhere and now I am spending my time weeding as this rubbish germinates. Never again will I use 'Un' Happy Beaks.

No grow seed grows well!

Like others, I wish I’d read the reviews before ordering. My order arrived in reasonable time but the bird seed is hopeless.
Marketed as No grow seed, it’s proved to be the very opposite. I have to spend so much time pulling up all the plants that are growing under the bird table. I’ve stopped using it and will offer it out on Freecycle.
I should have stuck with Ivel Valley who always provide quality seed and customer service.

VERY BAD Customer Service

I have used Happy Beaks twice first time was ok 12 months ago. So this time I ordered 5 items only 3 arrived, All in separate boxes by different couriers at different times !! . So I sent email and one missing item was sent which has now arrived the second missing item was NOT acknowledged so had to phone which has cost me £3.80 as they charge a premium rate to phone them!!
They say it is despatched but to date a week later still NOT arrived . I can see a formal complaint letter going in next . Obviously I will NEVER use them again.

Awful

Awful, waiting now for 3 months for a bird feeder. Didn't know you had to buy a year in advance. No communication. Go to your local shop, these obviously have too much money to care. Happy beaks! Crappy beaks more like.

Berry Suet Pellets

I recently purchased a 12kg bag of berry suet pellets from Happy Beaks. The process of ordering and the delivery were all satisfactory. The reason for the low score is quite simply that the birds aren't eating them. I was very conscious that the pellets seemed quite hard and dry. Unfortunately, I now have a huge bag of these pellets which I can't use.

I would advise anyone to read this…

I would advise anyone to read this email that I sent to Happy Beaks five days ago. Since then all I have received is an automated reply to say that they will be back in touch within 72 hours...

My wife placed this order on the 3rd February. There was no indication from the Happy Beaks website that there would be any undue delay.

On the 22nd February she received an email to say that there had been problems and that the revised despatch date was 25th March. She decided to wait until then.

On the 11th March she received a second email advising her that there had been a further delay and that the despatch date had again been put back to 12th April.

On the 24th March she found the item at a garden centre and decided to phone to cancel the order with yourselves. She was assured that this would take place.

Over a week later she had still not received the refund and she phoned again. This time she was assured that the order had been cancelled and that the refund should have been made by the Thursday of the following week. Although this seemed an extremely long time she was prepared to wait.

Two weeks on there has still been no refund.

We have subsequently read recent reviews on Trust Pilot and it is apparent that our experiences are similar to those of many others who have had the misfortune to deal with Happy Beaks. I am no longer prepared to be messed about by your company. You even provide an 0871 phone number for contacting you, which means that significant charges are incurred every phone call.

If by the end of today my wife has not received an apology and a guarantee that the money (£26.78) will be refunded at the earliest opportunity, and certainly before the end of this week, I shall not only be adding my own review but shall be contacting Master Card to provide them with a full account of what has taken place.

Excellent value for money, and (normally!) very good service

I’ve been ordering regularly over the past five/six months and have been very pleased with the quality of the different foods/other items ordered, and also with the speed of delivery. It would have been five stars had my last order not been delayed - perhaps due to Easter? It took 8 rather than the usual 2-3 days. I was surprised to read the recent, highly critical reviews and sincerely hope that my next order will be fulfilled as quickly as I have come to expect from Happy Beaks - my garden visitors certainly appreciate your products!

Update 6 May: my recent order (delivered as three separate packages) had one item missing despite it being listed on the despatch note enclosed. I e-mailed customer services who dealt speedily with the problem and I received the missing item a couple of days later. Five-star service and a very happy customer!

Eleven days is too long.

It took nine days from date of order to date of dispatch, and then another two days before delivery.
That’s ELEVEN DAYS to wait for the product.
Needless to say, the birds were VERY HUNGRY. Would not recommend.
Good points: well packaged and good quality product. I feel they must have an issue with the dispatch side of the business. Or some sort of communication problem between sales and warehouse. Or struggling to keep up with increased business. I don’t know.

Dreadful

Dreadful. I have twice ordered from these and have had to chase up. Allow you to buy when out of stock and dont email you to say you arent getting what you ordered. Promise refunds that dont happen and it's a premium rate number to call them. Full of excuses. Takes approx 3 weeks to get your money back. This time I've taken it to paypal dispute after another non refund as promised. Will never use again. AVOID

AVOID

AVOID. Terrible customer service. Do not ring the customer service as you will talked to as if you are a major inconvenience to their terrible service AND be charged a premium rate call for doing so. No dispatch emails till after the products actually arrive. Next day delivery actually means at least 5 working days with no updates and the expensive customer service line representative tells you the items are still being picked when they have actually been dispatched. All in all a experience worth avoiding.

Unhappy beaks

They say they dispatch same day if you order before 2pm. Called them 3 days later and they said they hadn’t even picked it! Was a birthday present and the guy on the phone didn’t seem to care that it hadn’t been picked. Also they charge you premium rate for speaking with their decidedly unhelpful and unhappy customer service! Avoid!

Wish I'd read the reviews on here first…

Wish I'd read the reviews on here before ordering...

Ordered a fairly large bundle of bird food (50kg) - half of it turned up ... other half, who knows where it is.

Emails not answered after three days, and no sign of the rest of the delivery.

edit: delivery has now turned up on the doorstep, rather randomly.

I've still heard nothing at all from happy beaks 'customer services' though to explain either the delivery delay, or even to reply to my three day old emails. Hope they're all ok...

Regardless, clearly they either have some serious customer service logistics issues, or they simply don't care enough to reply to emails - which is all frankly quite bizarre considering the relative professionalism of both the website and their discount / referral campaigns.

Non-existent support doesn't make for a good customer experience though, and I won't be using the company again.

Rude, unhelpful staff.

I ordered from them and they sent it by Yodel. I got an email saying that a parcel was delivered and handed to me - it wasn't. No indication from them what it was. I rang Happy Beaks to see if it definitely was the bird seed. The woman I spoke to was so unhelpful and slammed the phone down on me. I rang again and a man answered and was even ruder. I will never order from them again.

Happy with service

From my own experience, I’ve used Happy Beaks to buy my bird food in bulk three times now . Every order arrived complete and on time . No complaints thus far and would definitely use again.

Think these guys are dodgy...

Oh no... wish I’d read the reviews first. Only half my order arrived. They’ve ignored messages and emails.

Sadly I think I’ve been ripped off.

No order received, and no notification it wasn’t going to be.

Four weeks after ordering I had to contact Happy Beaks to query the whereabouts of my order.

Apparently, due to stock issues, the order was cancelled. No notification, no refund processed, nothing.

I wonder how long they would have sat on this, and my money, had I not chased it up.

Incidentally, still waiting for a refund. And still receiving marketing emails despite asking them to remove my details from the system.

Avoiding giving refund due

Unfortunately, I had to cancel an order I had placed with Happy Beaks but even after cancellation they still despatched it. They agreed that I should decline receipt from the couriers, which I did, and they would refund the full amount when it was received back in their Warehouse.
Over a month has gone by and, apparently, it has still not been received by them.
Really?
I had never dealt with this company before and I certainly will never do so again.
