This is my first blender so I have nothing to compare it with. However it is more substantial than expected and for my use it is more than sufficient. If I had to make one alteration to the design then it would be the lid's locking mechanism which is flimsy and unnecessary as the lid has a tight fit. Should this locking mechanism break then it will render the whole machine useless since it will not operate without it.
