This Stellar 7000 Profile Draining18cm Saucepan was a replacement for a Stellar non draining 18cm 7000 saucepan we have had for over 10 years. The draining saucepan is much easier to use and we are happy with the product so far.

Excellent pan. A little on the heavy side, but so are all quality pans, and it's the price you pay for good heat retention. I like the handle's all steel construction and narrow profile, which makes it easy to rotate in your hand when emptying. Plus, polished steel is so much easier to keep clean than plastic or wood, and won't age. Having said that, the handle is not going to win any 'good grips' award. I have found that when pouring anything more than one and a half litres of water, I tend to grip nearer the forked end of the handle, which is the only part that gets a little hot, but it's not a big issue. Being glass, the lid does get too hot to touch, and you will need a glove, but the lid's handle is rather small, which I find makes it a little difficult to grip with an oven glove. I like the fact that you can nudge the lid to one side to ensure that steam only vents from the pouring lip on the opposite side. Another very useful feature is the clear scale on the inside wall of the pan which I use all the time. It seems very accurate. All in all, I am very pleased with it.

Seems well made and a quality item and at very attractive price from Harts of Stur. It is perhaps a little heavier than I had expected when compared with other pans of similar size from M&S and Thomas which I currently use

Very good robust pan - ‘replacement’ for the original 20cm non stick version (which due to Stellar’s Chinese production limitations - its only available in a set now) Not non-stick but v good as a standard pan - with good pouring lid facility
