Picked up my new Evoque today

Picked up my new Evoque today, the service has been outstanding even with the current climate. Alex McCracken went above and beyond to make our purchase smooth and enjoyable! This is the 3rd car we have bought over the last two years and have dealt with Alex every time!, highly recommend this dealer for everyone to purchase their new car !!

Hatfields Land Rover Hull.

Hatfields have supplied my last 3 cars and have looked after them for servicing and support. They have always been friendly, helpful and have given excellent service. Martin Brown in particular and his team have always worked hard on my behalf and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Appalling

Unfortunately the Jaguar garage close to where I live closed and as a result I had to go to Hatfields in Shrewsbury. I booked my car in for its service on 10th July and it took until the 18th September before the service of the car was finally completed, all with the added bonus of having to pay £1700+ for the pleasure. I felt that I was treated with contempt throughout the whole process, it would appear that it is all about money with Hatfields since their move to this prestigious facility with profit first and customer service / satisfaction being way down the list. The list of concerns with the service and the car are so numerous It would take me the whole night to write this review. However, one highlight included Hatfields offering me a courtesy car which had not been cleaned or sanitised, and this is during a time in which coronavirus was very prevalent. Furthermore, due to the atrocious service received, I politely asked on many occasions for a Jaguar Director’s contact details, as I believed Jaguar needed to be made aware, three weeks on I still have not received any correspondence regarding this. It’s very unfortunate but I have been a JLR customer for 10 years, due to this treatment received I do not think I would ever buy a JLR branded vehicle again.

Discourteous Sales !

Telephoned and spoke to Martin Brown with a view to possibly exchanging my 8 series BMW on a RR Sport. Sent images, discussed initial budgets, PX price (apparently) close to what we needed and then absolutely nothing....nada....I mean are these actually salespeople ??? Even if deal couldn’t be done I’d expect a phone call or email out of simple courtesy. Their loss however, after discussing an alternative deal with a different dealership, a deal has been struck but px’ing my current 4x4 instead and keeping the BMW. Number of negative reviews says it all really....hopeless !

Terrible customer service…

Phoned on Saturday to view an advertised used car and was told someone would call back, after several calls to them Ash eventually called back on Sunday to make an appointment to view the car on Wednesday at 12pm.
After a 2hr drive to get to the garage Ash was on his day off and nobody was expecting me as the car had been sold!! Did nobody think to call me? I wasted 4 hrs of my day plus fuel and didn't even get a sincere apology, terrible service and totally unacceptable

Awful

Rang them for a spare key which they quoted me for. After 2 weeks and 250 phone calls that are unanswered as it just rings out, numerous emails sent which they reply to when they feel like it, I have decided to take my custom elsewhere. Very very poor customer service! Seeing as my car is due for a service aswell I will not be bothering to book it in with them!

Don't Buy A Car From Hatfields Shrewsbury

I thought that the change from Shukers to Hatfields in Shrewsbury was a good thing, but I'm afraid I was wrong - which is a shame, because I originally gave this dealership a 5 star Google review. Here's the reason for my change of heart.

We bought a new Evoque from Hatfields 2 years ago (so still under warranty) and it is now showing the well documented warning sign that so many Landrovers seem to suffer from, telling us that the 4 wheel drive system has failed. We immediately rang up Hatfields, who told us that the fastest service would be to call up 'Landrover Assist' (the assistance cover you are given for 3 years with all new Landrovers) so that's what we did. Landrover Assist informed us that they 'don't deal with that sort of fault' and that Hatfields shouldn't have told us to ring them in the first place. Great!

So we phoned Hatfields again who told us that 'from experience' they were pretty much certain that they know what the problem was - the car needs a new pump. I'm not surprised it's 'from experience', because if you Google it, this seems to be a common fault. It's obviously worrying to drive a car that is continually showing a warning triangle on its dash, but the problem is that Hatfields will only order a part once the car has gone through diagnostics in their workshop and the earliest time slot they have available is 9 days time. I was told that was with me getting priority, otherwise it would have been 14 days. Then the part has to be ordered and the car has to be taken back to the dealership again. Two trips and a 2 week wait to replace a cheap pump on a £40K car that is still in warranty.

The obvious question has to be - if these pumps fail so regularly, then why doesn't Hatfield's stock the replacement part? The answer from Hatfields Shrewsbury is that - 'Landrover won't allow us to stock parts'. Well that's really reassuring to know - a multimillion pound dealership can't stock a simple part that is known to fail, so it makes a customer who has bought 4 new cars from that dealership in the past wait 2 weeks and waste 2 days bringing the car to them, in order to sort out a well documented warranty issue. Really poor service. And they wonder why people buy BMWs.

Range Rover Evoque constant DPF issues

Had a nightmare with my Range Rover Evoque and DPF issues since I purchased the car in March this year.
Been back and to to Land Rover Hatfield’s Liverpool 5 times since July 2018.
Land Rover assist have been slow arranging courtesy cars for me each time.
There is an underlying fault on the vehicle with the DPF as it is regularly ‘almost Full’ or ‘full’. Most recently 2 weeks ago driving on the M6 with our 2 young children in the back, the red warning light appeared ( no prior amber warning) on the dash stating ‘DPF full and restricted performance’. In the outside lane of the motorway the car jolted from 70mph down to 40mph almost causing a serious car accident as the car behind us missed us by centimetres.
We had to drive the car across 3 lanes of the M6 at no more than 40mph in rush hour traffic to get to the hard shoulder and call Land Rover assist to have the car recovered.
Every time the car is in Land Rover Hatfield’s the DPF is just regenerated.
The AA technician even stated that the DPF needs replacing.
I have had other electrical problems with the car also and no one at Land Rover wants to be held accountable for it. Management advised my basically to extend my warranty come December when it expires but why should I when the problems are apparent now?!
It is covered by the warranty but I am totally disheartened with the whole experience and service.
This is a long story cut short as the whole experience with Land Rover has been terrible.
Land Rover assist advised that they also do not cover out of pocket expenses so all the leave from work, fuel expenses and phone call costs are not reimbursed at all. Absolutely shocking service for such a large company of so-called luxury vehicles.
I have raised a formal complaint and a case with the financial ombudsman as the car is not roadworthy and an absolute death trap. I do not trust the car to use it for a motorway journey with my children in it anymore.
I will never buy another Land Rover or recommend Land Rover vehicles to anyone.
Please be warned - do not purchase a Range Rover Evoque! They are nothing but trouble and expense!

Completely inefficient at simply …

Completely inefficient at simply providing a quote to buy a car! It's a little surprising that I have had to chase the sales team for a quote promised three days ago - only to find I was expected to replay all my information again to the Sales Manager as my details hadn't been captured. If this is a sign of the experience before the sale - I'd be very concerned about the after sales experience. I think going back to some basics might help tis organisation.

Not Good Enough

Our one year old Evoque recently suffered the 'emissions top up failure warning light syndrome' documented by other owners, meaning a trip back to the dealership to have the fluid that gets squirted into the particulate filter topped up - after only 12 months of moderate driving. It costs £30, which is annoying enough, bearing in mind how new the vehicle is and the fact that this is surely a design fault, but the main issue is the inconvenience of having to make a trip back to the garage on a busy working day. Anyway, it was done by Hatfields and we thought we'd heard the last of it, but a week or so later, a different warning light (orange engine icon) came on whilst we were driving, so we got on the phone to Hatfields again to find out what we should do. We were transferred through to the service dept, who informed us that the car should not be driven at all, because that warning light can come on for a variety of reasons and driving with some of those faults could cause 'irreversible engine damage'. We were told to phone the LandRover recovery service (which you get for free with a new LandRover) and they would be with us 'within an hour'. Yeah, right - we made the call at 9.30 am and they finally got to us at 2.15pm. The call out guy put the problem right in a few minutes, with a simple laptop software update, then told us that they can NEVER get to customers within an hour and that the orange engine icon warning like relates purely to emissions- related problems, so the car is totally OK to drive, in the short term, until it can be sorted by the garage. Nice one Hatfields - you gave me loads of misinformation and made me take more time off work, for no good reason at all!
