We came to independent Hays Travel agent Nichola-Lesley Hodgkins ‘Nicci’ last year wanting to book a very special holiday, our honeymoon. Flying just one day after our wedding in March, we knew we wanted sun but also understood we would be limited on destinations due to the time of year. We are also not the type of couple who just like to relax by the pool, so it was important for us to find somewhere with activities and things to do.

Nicci worked endlessly researching climates, honeymoon destinations and the best options for us. She sent over so many amazing suggestions and eventually helped us narrow it down to the beautiful Mauritius. Nicci’s many years of experience really showed here as she recommended the ‘Beachcomber resorts’ based on genuine guest feedback and experiences not just TripAdvisor reviews etc and wow she was absolutely right!

We stayed at Canonnier Beachcomber and although we went slightly over our original budget, we honestly wouldn’t change a thing. Nicci reassured us beforehand that for such a special holiday it would be worth it, and she couldn’t have been more correct. She went above and beyond to make our honeymoon perfect contacting the hotel before our arrival so we were welcomed with beautiful bed decorations and fizz. She also arranged day trips directly with Beachcomber from Canonnier to Paradis and Shandrani, which are included free as part of the Beachcomber resorts. On top of this, the hotel kindly gifted us a full-day boat trip to three islands as a honeymoon gift, which was absolutely amazing.

What sets Nicci apart from going into a standard travel agent store is the incredibly personalised service she provides. The communication, follow up, care and attention to detail made us feel so valued, special and safe throughout. With recent unrest and flight cancellations, Nicci made our safety and reassurance a priority. She printed all of our ATOL protection documents in a beautiful travel wallet, and because our all in one forms and check-ins were due on our wedding day, Nicci completed everything for us so we had absolutely no stress on the lead up to our wedding or on the day.
Because of Nicci, we were able to completely relax and simply enjoy the most special time of our lives. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Nicci, you made our honeymoon unforgettable ❤️
