AVOID THIS STORE: ENTIRE FLOORING BATCH DEFECTIVE AND NO REFUND OR RESPONSIBILITY TAKEN!

AVOID THIS STORE – ENTIRE FLOORING BATCH DEFECTIVE AND NO REFUND OR RESPONSIBILITY TAKEN!

We bought a batch of laminate flooring from HGB Amsterdam and discovered that every single board was defective. The click edges were all damaged and the material could not be installed at all.

We reported the problem and brought the product back to the store, explaining the situation clearly. While we were there, we also checked the remaining flooring from the same batch that they were still selling, and it was in the same condition. This means the whole batch is faulty, and they are selling a product that is defective from the start.

They told us they would not give us our money back, and the only solution they offered was to put the defective flooring BACK ON SALE IN THE STORE, and ONLY IF SOMEONE ELSE BOUGHT IT, they would refund us.🤮

Proposing the resell a product they know is defective and unusable to another innocent customer, instead of taking responsibility, is completely unacceptable. Be aware that this could happen to you as well. I am not sure if the word “SCAM” can be used, but this experience certainly feels like one.

We asked for legal guidance: The situation is clearly a case of a non-conforming product. According to Dutch consumer and commercial law, we are entitled to a refund or proper replacement. They refused both, despite the fact that legally we are in the right.

After weeks of trying to resolve this politely and professionally, WE RECEIVED NO PROPER SOLUTION AND NO REFUND. This review reflects our experience so others are aware of how our case was handled. We lost around 1.400€ with this situation.
We recommend buying materials from other suppliers in the area. We have had no problems elsewhere, and the staff are respectful and resolve any issues promptly.
