I really like this service. I appreciate the time the doctors take to answer questions and more. I used it tonight and many times in the past. Thank you, Healthtap!

Healthtap has been the greatest thing…

Healthtap has been the greatest thing for me in my life. It has helped me at 2am when im not feeling well, by having a virtual consult with top doctors. It has been there for me more than any doctor I have had before. The innovation and brilliance of this platform is by far the greatest thing i have experienced thus far on the internet. Great job HealthTap.

This site is a great way for people to…

Psychological Treatment Changes Needed

The program is great from the view of a medical patient. However, from the viewpoint of patients with psychological conditions, the program is lacking.

First, the rates for brief consultations may be adequate, but there is rarely such a thing as “brief” therapy in the way medical consultations occur. “Brief” in psychotherapy still requires a personal, family and medication history.

Secondly, one or two follow up sessions are often necessary. As follow-up sessions are determined, the 30-50 minute sessions are an additional fee that confuse many patients who barely comprehended the medical service they signed onto.

SOAP notes are convenient for medical cases, but psychological notes often entail two files. The separate file is for the purpose of noting a process that must build toward obtaining information patients conceal from doctors until a level of trust is established over several sessions. For example, if a patient complains about depression, the art of the therapist is to build toward revealing any hidden causes, such as abuse or substance dependence.

Finally, psychological records are generally only peer reviewed by other trained therapists. In addition, the separate case notes can not be subpoenaed. When a patient knows that any doctor can access their secrets, they are unlikely to be willing to reveal them.

To make this program viable for psychological treatment, these issues need to be addressed!

I love HealthTap!

I love HealthTap! I’ve used it many times and the doctors are always very helpful and professional. It also takes the worry out of walking into a doctors office and risking getting something worse than you already have.

Real free advice

Best platform I have seen for patients to get quick expert advice even if that advice is see a doctor in person. Great resource especially for people who don’t have regular access to a doctor or specialists!

Succinct

An excellent site. Allows patient to ask succinct health care question. Allows practitioners to then give them direction in obtaining health care.

The first time I used Health tap I was…

The first time I used Health tap I was pleased. I needed budesonide for my ulcerative colitis and and va did not have this.

Next I asked for Tamiflu to have on hand if my son came home with flu symptoms. The response was from a jack dumb physician who said it was not for prevention.
If one were to look up the use of Tamiflu, it states that is if for "prevention" for the common flu!

I will neve use healthtap again as it has juvenile ignorant as doctors on it.
