Not just fun, kind dog training, it’s a whole lot of knowledge that helps you to understand your dog and why they do what they do. I’ve followed Tom Mitchell for a few years and I love the ‘geeky’ lessons he is so passionate about.
I use the concepts not only for my own dog, but also for the dogs I walk for my clients, it helps me to build a lovely relationship with them super quick.
Beware, once you get into it you get totally hooked!

His approach has made it possible for me to generate great change for my highly reactive little canine love.

Help my dog is really an amazing place. I would recommend anyone who wants to delve a little deeper into why their dogs do certain things, this is the place for you. There is a multitude of information and teaching on the hub and Tom's weekly lives are not to be missed.

I have learned from Dr Tom for several years now and done group consults for my own dogs. He has a great ability to make science approachable and actionable. My dogs have benefited a lot from his methods. My dog reactive Doberman can now completely ignore the neighbors Chihuahua barking frantically at her in the back yard. My very high drive Belgian/Mallinois /Doberman cross is much calmer and easy to live with. We are now working on handling and vet visits and reactivity to small animals. Tom’s teachings are way ahead from other behavior and expert advice out there and it is all solidly evidence based and, most importantly, kind to the dog. I understand my dogs and why they do the things they do and feel empowered to advocate for them in any situation.

Tom Mitchell is an insightful, passionate dog behaviourist and vet with a huge amount of truly valuable experience. His has developed ground-breaking tools (fun games!) that are proven to change the behaviour of even the most difficult of ingrained dog behaviours.

He breaks problems down into simple steps with easy-to-implement and fun solutions. And his energy, passion and enthusiasm are infectious! He makes the whole experience fun and lifts us all up to believe in ourselves and our dogs. I’m constantly learning from his videos and watching him re-skill his own badly bitten and frightened dachshund is inspirational.

Barking, lunging, aggressive, reactive and scared dogs (and their owners) immediately learn games and strategies that will change the way their dog behaves. He explains exactly how to do things, why the strategy works and gives you a tonne of workable options.

A few key games and strategies have made a huge difference here - all using my dog’s food and some high value treats. It’s amazing!

I’ve made more progress in two months following Tom’s strategies on the helpmydog hub than I did in two years of reward-based training.

Two months ago I had to watch my dog eat a whole dead pigeon (he kept playing keep-away). I was frustrated and beaten.

Recently I called him when he had a bird wing in his mouth and he just dropped in and ran over. True story. I was gobsmacked! And hugely relieved.
