Not conpetent
The Hertz Lot that I pick up my car at Medford - Mystic Avenue - gave me a car with 1/2 tank of gas. I paid for the fuel purchase option, but I expected a rental with a full tank not what I got. I had to fuel the rental halfway through the rental period and feel I am owed at least 1/2 tank of fuel when I returned it with 3/4 of a tank of gas!!!!!!!!

Overall experience was good. However, the gas tank was only filled halfway. I ended up paying more for the rental because I filled the tank and returned it filled. Hertz wouldn't credit because that's not in their policy, so that cost me quite a bit more.

Not a Five Star vehicle
I always thought of Hertz as a premium brand and had just been given Hertz Five Star status via my Amex Gold card. But the car I received was far from premium. Although paperwork indicated the 2023 Kia Forte had 13K miles on it, the actual odometer milage was 100K more than that—over one hundred thousand miles!
All carpets were theadbare, the “service overdue” light indicated that something should have been tended to 400 miles ago, and rheee was a menacing noise coming from deep within the engine that sounded as though a tightly wound spring was about to snap.
And there was an Uber sticker on the back window. Maybe that explains the unusually high mileage but not why this car is still in service.
