4 star...should have been 5 !!

I had put in a 4 star review for HIFi racks after purchasing a rack from them. First class products and beautiful workmanship. I feel bad now that I docked them a star for having to pay customs/import duty when I was not supposed to.
Today Hifi racks refunded me the duty and I am just so pleased they did this, although it appears it was not sorted between them and DHL.
Excellent communication and customer service from HIFI racks and highly recomended

Truly Exceptional & Superb Customer Service

In 2016 I purchased a wall mounted solid oak Hi Fi shelf from Hi Fi Racks Ltd. It was a lovely item which fulfilled its purpose beautifully both functionally and aesthetically. A few weeks ago I noticed that a crack had appeared in a joint in the centre of the Isolation board. I contacted HFR to let them know what had happened and ask their views on what had happened. Without hesitation they offered to make me a new oak board free of charge. It arrived today arrived and is now installed in my audio system looking and sounding great. Thank you HFR. It is so nice (and so rare) to be able to commend a company for truly superb customer service. I also know that this is not an isolated incident. This company genuinely walks the talk as I have had similar service in the past. Well done and thank you to Bradley, Jade and the rest of the HFR team.

Hi Fi Cack

I bought one of these racks second hand, but it was well cared for, collected in person, and according to the seller not very old when sold on. Some 4 years later, well, it fell to bits. I'd bought different legs so I could fit an extra piece of equipment in, and was considering buying another shelf too, but before I could reconfigure it all my 2 year old son knocked into the rack one day and one of the shelves broke in two. We don't have to keep him away from any of the other seemingly sturdy furniture to avoid it collapsing in a heap of wood, and at £150 a shelf I think it's a bit shocking. I contacted HiFi Racks via Facebook who were publicly helpful, but when I contacted them privately no assistance was offered other than an offer for me to purchase a replacement shelf (in addition to the one I wanted to add, and the one that turns out to be severely warped).

So anyway, I've bought a replacement (non wooden) rack from elsewhere, and gone to put this one in the loft, I daren't sell it on in case it too collapses on some poor unsuspecting child, maybe I'll use it in the garage or something. On dismantling and closer inspection, one of the other shelves has warped so badly it can be seen with the naked eye, without the aid of a flat surface for comparison, so I'm thinking the 5-6 year old rack is now pretty much written off (two out of the four shelves remain serviceable, if indeed I can "trust" them). Thankfully the British made electronics it was supporting still work and sound great...

It would seem that the "finest quality solid hardwood" "hand made in Leicestershire" isn't all it cracked up to be - I have furniture I bought flat packed from Ikea for next to nothing that's lasted four times as long.

Great product, poor customer service.

If it were for the quality of the rack itself, then this would be a five-star review. But it's not, it's about the overall experience, and this company's communications are really poor. I was given a lead time of 4 to 5 weeks, but the rack took just over 9 weeks to arrive. More disappointing was their lack of proactive communication in letting me know that there was a delay and what was the reason for it. Brexit and Covid may have been contributory factors but, if so, tell your customers. All communications were instigated by me, and I got the distinct impression that they'd rather I hadn't. Replies were vague and non-committal. Despite what their web-site preaches, they need to reassess their concept of customer service.

Excellent product

Really pleased with my purchase. For a custom built hifi rack it is good value for money and of great quality. Customer service is good as well (a rarity in 2020!).
