Out of business?

Hispek has their telephone number on the website and when I call them it's not working. I wonder if they really are still in business?

One of the best Retailers

I have been buying from hispek for over 10 years , have recommended hundreds of people to go there. They are one of the few companies that they give competitive prices and excellent customer services when required. They have always punched well above their weight taking on the likes of Comet, Currys , John Lewis etc and have always in my experience come out on top. I recently visited the showroom , only to discover that it had closed down, what a great shame to see such a brilliant local retailer shut up shop , only for the bigger companies to take over !

BE WARNED - avoid this lot like the plague!

Worst customer experience EVER!

I purchased an LG TV from Hi Spek that arrived when expected, all good so far. I then opened the box to inspect the product and it looked in perfect condition from initial inspection, packaged it back up and booked for an electrician to install it.

Just over two weeks later the electrician put it on the wall and turned it on. To our surprise there was only half a picture and the rest of the screen looked broken. Hi Spek were made aware of the problem straight away and told us to deal with LG direct. LG requested that we sent in photos of the screen and on review (after a few phone calls) they suggested that we got back in touch with Hi Spek for a replacement as the screen looked like it had suffered from pressure damage and must have happened during transit.

Several conversations later Hi Spek told me that they were unwilling to replace or repair the TV as we were two days late in reporting the problem - apparently we only had 14 days following receipt to make them aware of any problems. I explained that I had inspected the TV when it arrived and it all looked fine as there was no damage to the packaging and the TV itself looked perfect from the outside. Hi Spek then asked me if I plugged it in and turned it on at that time - I did not, why would I it looked fine to me? I the asked them if they had opened and inspected the TV and tested it when they received it and they said that they didn't, so how can they confirm that it arrived to me that it was not damaged when they dispatched the TV.

Hi Spek are unwilling to be flexible or accept any responsibility for the damage to the TV or believe that it was not damaged at our end - they even blamed the installer who is a close friend and installs TVs of this type all of the time. We have been left with a 55” TV that is not fit for purpose.

It was also suggested by Hi Spek customer services that we contacted our household insurers to claim on our insurance!

It appears I am not the only consumer who has had a poor experience of Hi Spek, only wish I had read the reviews before hand. Next time I think I will make my purchases based upon reviews and maybe pay a little more, not just base my decision on price.

We are sorry you had reason to leave a negetive review.

You received the delivery of LG TV on the 29/04/2015 by 2 Man Delivery Service. We have Clear Proof of Delivery. There was no damage reported on Delivery.

17 Days later, On the 15/05/2015 You advised us that the TV was fitted by Third party Installer and you reported to us that his TV was faulty, No mention of Damage To TV was reported . You were advised to follow up with LG for technical setting and reset procedure which can be completed by calling LG technical support.

Your installer emailed LG on the 16/05/2015 with the image of the TV. Which was also emailed to us on 21/5/2015

Nearly a month after the delivery, TV was confirmed as being damaged.
Our terms and condition of delivery require damage to be reported within 48 Hours Of delivery.

On this occasion as the Item was damaged and was not reported in the required time scale we regretfully advised you that product would not be covered.

Awful just awful

I ordered a new Neff oven from this company on 17th Jenauary and the item was showing in stock. The following morning an email arrived saying it was on back order! Although living without a working oven I decided to wait until the date they had given as "in warehouse 28th January deliver to me 30th Januaru". No further comms from them so I rang them on 30th. They had to ring Neff and then told me no definite date available. At this point I cancelled the order and asked for a refund. Now 10 days later still waiting for money. All I get told is that it's on its way but no visa debit refund I have ever had has taken this long!

Highly recommend this company

Highly recommend this company, bought an LG TV (55LB730V). Excellent customer service and excellent product. Dealt with a guy called 'Gilbert', who was very helpful. Ordered the TV on Wednesday, was ordered on the Friday, even though it was under free delivery and on a seven day option. Communications were excellent, email confirmation delivery. Delivery was on time with a phone call to firm up the time on a two hour time slot. Product is amazing! 5 Year warranty was delivered less than a week after the TV. Very happy with the product, definitely recommend the company

So impressed!!

Wow! I could not be happier with the service I have received. I ordered the Bose soundlink 3 as a christmas gift on Saturday and it has arrived today - Tuesday. Given the lower prices for products I was expecting a much longer delivery. I called before ordering to make sure it would be delivered in time for christmas. The very helpful member of staff assured me it would and I was given delivery updates by text and email. Could not have asked for a better service! Will certainly be using Hi Spek again. Thank you Hi Spek!

Great Advice and shopping experiecne Well Done!

Was in the market for a new TV , the people at hispek offered really sound advise and a great price too. They gave me a free 5 year guarantee with the Sony 4K i bought and installed all the equipment at very reasonable cost . All round TV is great and will be back to buy a Bose lifestyle from them later this year . Highly recommended !

Great price, hassle free purchase

Made purchase with some misgivings due to other reviews. However product was delivered free within 2 working days, undamaged, not a re-packaged or reconditioned unit. Coupled with a price that was almost 10% below next lowest price I was a very satisfied customer.

Good next day delivery

Initially sceptical due to a couple of negative reviews but hey you can't please everyone and nobody is perfect. Also it's good that they respond to negative comments you see here which is commendable rather than ignoring them and shows they care.

Got my Bose speaker the very next day and in excellent condition. Very pleased with service.

Worst experience ever

I bought a SONY Bravia tv KDL55W807 for £1029 ,went all the way from Oxford to the store ,as it was a pick up only deal.Fast and easy transaction in store .
Got back home ,started unboxing and. That's where it started.
Power cable were unpacked ,hanging on the top of the tv ( where it should have been originally wrapped tight in a plastic bag attached at the back of the tv) ,the power plug that goes in the power socked were obviously used ,marks visible on it.
I phoned Hispek to tell them what I got ,they did get back to me as after doing some investigations ,saying that it is impossible and it never happened before .
I phoned SONY to find out how it comes in the package ,they said it's definitely not the way it should be and I need to find out with company why.
But all that Hispec offered me ,was to bring it back all the way down from Oxford again .
I am very disappointed as I paid for brand new Tv and got a possible customer return , ex display or else ,which of course according to Hispek wasn't .
After my last email to them which was a week ago , they never got back to me .
I would never buy from them again .
Also a WARNING for these that comes from far away for in store purchase, I would recomend to check the item while in store , so You won't end up like me .

Please accept our apologies you have had cause to post a poor review. Your comments were duly noted and responded to in our email to you dated 15 January 2014 as follows:
Your order ref: SO-641428, Sony KDL55W807

Ref your purchase of the above TV you called the store and to advise us that you felt the TV was not brand new because the cable was overhanging on the top.

At the time we confirmed with our warehouse that it was in fact a brand new set and it had not been used or re-boxed.

When you came in store you would have also noticed that we already have one of these sets on display so there is no reason for us to open another one.

At no time were we advised that there were finger marks on the television near the power socket.

You then advised us that you had spoken to Sony customer services and they had asked you to contact the retailer to instigate an enquiry with them.

We immediately emailed Sony UK the serial number etc for the TV you purchased. This was just so that we could confirm with them in case the set you purchased had been returned in their warehouse at any time. Like our system they can also trace the history of a particular product from the serial number itself.

There was a slight delay from Sony due to it being the weekend and they got back to us late on Monday afternoon, we have tried to call you since but got no reply.

This email is just to confirm our findings and to re-assure you that the TV you have purchased is a brand new set as supplied to us by Sony UK.

Excellent Service.

Impressed!!

Was slightly sceptical at first having read the reviews and also after a call to the shop itself which was less than helpful!! But I went ahead with the on-line order late on a Monday evening. All through Tuesday I received regular emails informing me of the status of my purchase and on Wednesday morning I received an email from the delivery company informing me of the time that my purchase would be delivered. And it did as specified!!!! Very impressed with the company and would use again.

Faultless Service - Highly recommended

Purchased new appliances for my kitchen recently from Hispek - received expert recommendations and advice before the purchase, was kept up to date with the progress of my order and and accepted delivery on the agreed date. PLUS the price was £££ cheaper compared to everyone else! Overall, an excellent experience! Would highly recommend them and will definitely use them again!!

Bought the BOSE OE2 headphones, as a gift for my son. Hi-Spek had the best price, and they arrived really quickly. My son is delighted with the quality, and listens to his classical music on his daily train commute. Wouldn't hesitate to use Hi-Spek again.

A*************** Great stuff! Highly Recommended

After spending numerous hours reviewing vacuum cleaners I decided on a Miele. Hispek was one of the best prices and free delivery too so I took the plunge. My order arrived very quickly and I was kept informed every step of the way - no waiting in all day. I received emails telling me exactly where my order was in the system and even one to say it would be delivered within the hour! Very impressed - that's how it should be - shopping at it's best. Oh yes, I am very pleased with my purchase too - what a sucker!!

Brilliant service at a great price.

I have used Hi-Spek twice now and their customer service is second to none. The first delivery to the Highlands of Scotland arrived within 48 hours and so tracked to a one hour delivery slot. The Second order to be delivered within London was tracked and arrived within18 hours of being ordered. I have not found the goods ordered cheaper anywhere and would thoughly recommend them.
