Telephone staff could not have been more polite, helpful, informative and friendly.
Moving to HMCA has saved me more than 50% of the premium of my former health insurer and included cover for everything formerly covered by them.
All the paperwork was correct and sent promptly.
I'm a very impressed, satisfied customer.
I received a leaflet about HMCA but had no medical insurance .I considered another provider but after talking to both I went with HMCA as they answered all my questions .Then gave me a good price for cover .I have yet to use the cover but hopefully it will be as easy as setting up.
The person who dealt with me - Elaine - could not have been kinder nor more helpful. She made the experience pleasant, painless and enjoyable. I felt informed, assisted and cared for.
it cost me 12 x £173 fees and about £5000. to cover what they would not cover in my last year.
Unlike most if not all other companies they lump in day cases with investigations MRI (scans, X-rays) and consultants fees all for an allowance of £2750 up from £2500.
They also insisted in 2015 that i pay for a back op myself otherwise there would be an overcharge of £2000. I had to find £10000 myself and reclaim it.
They are now saying that they won't cover me for investigation into a different back problem that they for the most part didn't not cover me for. The treatment was for two day cases each costing circa £4000 for pain injections. `So a shortfall of £5500 i.e. £8000-£2500.In fact as I had to pay for more consultants fees, ££180 and for another MRI £480the shortfall was even more.
In the end i would get a price from all involved in my treatment and clear it with them. Every claim i made i was always expecting a problem and I ended up having to pay all the fees myself and reclaim it. You would expect to feel sense of safety as a result of paying for cover but i never did.
As a result of them not covering me for further investigation I was unable to pay for more scans and consultants fees.
They are not cheap and by going to another company I have saved myself £22 per month with no limits on anything like heart problems or cancer.
I suggest to anybody considering HMCA do some comparisons and please read the small print. Also on renewal check that they have not changed what you are covered for. They include a back problem as a chronic illness. i do have a chronic illness that it was agreed they would not cover. i expected that! Their definition of a back problem is casting a very wide net! it is worth using a comparison company it save you a lot of money and grief!

We had various written questions before signing on and all of these questions were quickly and clearly answered. The person we spoke to was polite and helpful.
Very helpfull and friendly staff. Always there to help. Very happy
Customer friendly organisation which offered us an improved medical care package at less cost.
Real people on the other end of the phone!
Changing from a previous well known Private Health Insurance company to HMCA was made very easy by the very friendly and professional staff at HMCA who attended from my initial query to a seamless change over - offering all the facilities plus more at a lower price!
The lady who assisted me Helen Turbitt guided through the signup process and was very knowledgable and helpful.
She advised me how to obtain the correct information from my previous insurer so that the transfer was uncomplicated.
The adviser was kind, considerate and made the options easy to understand.
How the plan works out if I unfortunately became ill remains to be seen.
Obviously the first point of contact could not be more helpful as HMCA are looking for new customers. However, my husband & I were changing from another Health provider due to very specific reasons of discontent. Whilst 'lip service' was paid to what I said, this did not manifest itself later with the joining details. So I had to telephone & go through things again, I was asked to write in with my specific requests (quite simply that either my husband or I could telephone and be assured of equal treatment). This was not forthcoming by BUPA, hence our moving. We are yet to be comfortable that this will actually happen as we have had no reason to contact HMCA. very disappointingly though, the Membership card, that came through after paying the subscription is addressed only to Mrs Bennion. We will wait to see but at the moment are very suspicious that for whatever reason, a joint membership option just does not appear to be available - WHY??

A prompt and polite phone response to my enquiry.
The following paperwork was also promptly received.
A pleasure to deal with.
Professional and helpful advice
Efficient and timely response to my queries
I transferred into HMCA from a company scheme and the policy provided excellent value that was significantly cheaper than starting a personal contract with my former company provider. HMCA also allowed for continuation of many features of my previous policy.
Painless transfer from BUPA. Quick process, professionally handled and calls returned promptly.
Very good response on phone. Friendly staff answered many questions. Now signed up.
