Holland pies have changed for the worse, just had a meat and potato and the pastry was terrible, it was almost burnt and very thick, I’ve never seen that in all the years, I’m done with them.

Meat pies, potato and meat pies, steak pies all from farm foods. I’m 68 years old and have eaten Holland’s for donkeys years. The pies are nothing like they used to be, no juice, weird pastry, fill... See more

I would like to warn anyone out there thinking of trying the mince and onion puddings , don't do it . Just tried for the first time and I can quite honestly say it was thee most fowl thing that I have ever tasted .
Terrible pies not like they used to be
👎
Without a doubt the most disgusting pie I have ever had the misfortune to purchase! Cooked to instructions, pastry was rock hard, after calling in the RAF, to bomb it open, I was playing hide and seek for any gravy, which turned out to be a pool of sludge akin to the contents of a used condom. Meanwhile the meat seek was even more difficult, just didn’t exist, if you were starving to death and had this as an alternative to death? RIP!
Didn’t realise Hollands made miniature pies !!
They are nowhere near as big as they used to be and not as tasty.
Very disappointed
Just had a Holland's steak & kidney pudding for tea tonight and found a 1/2" long piece of razor-sharp bone in it, I put what was left of it in the bin along with an unopened bag of 4 we still had in the freezer, I definitely won't be buying them again.
A photo of the piece of bone is shown in the profile picture above as there is no other way to add a photo to this revue.
Could anyone tell me what sort of meat is inside Holland’s steak pudding’s because I cant it’s horrible,to me it tastes like cardboard not a patch on what they used to be.
I have been eating Holland’s pies since I was a young girl. I am now nearly 70 and have a Holland’s pie every so often. However, I have just had a meat and potato pie and there wasn’t enough filling to cover the base. I don’t mind the ‘slushy’ content as described by other reviewers but I do expect the pie to have a filling! I will never buy a Holland’s pie again.
Holland’s meat pies . OMG. Gristle minced up meat, bits of bone, absolutely disgusting. Not fit for human consumption . What happened ???
Holland’s steak kidney puddings, different story. I love them and always have. They’d get 5 stars all day long . Nice chunks of steak and kidney and the pudding is very nice .
Meat pies on the other hand. Not again thanks !
The steak puddings that used to be good were terrible, what little bit of meat I could find was pure gristle, never again!
We have always bought Hollands Steak Kidney puddings, very tasty. Made a serious error of judgement and tried the Meat and Potato pie, absolute rubbish, pureed potato and a little mince, which should not be described as MEAT. All four in the bin, don't be tempted.
AP
Just done a bag of 4 meat pies and 4 cheese and onion pies not had them for ages OMG Meat pies smelled funny and tasted really peppery like an off ish taste cooked from frozen 3 mins in micro so they were binned the cheese and onion were not much better they got half eaten then binned disgusting what has hollands pies done I won't buy again I have been eating hollands for over 45 years really dissapointed
Holland pies do not taste the same something has changed I loved them for years now but I will not be buying any more
Absolute garbage pies wouldn't feed them to pigs why are these appalling supermarkets selling them wake up Tesco etc hollands won't be in business much longer worth 1 star you can tell they're not British owned anymore
The worst Meat Pie I have ever tried to eat. Used to be great 25 years ago. Filled with gristly disgusting meat fresh from the 'graveyard' how a company like this survives is quite beyond me. Slung mine into the bin which vomited it back up again.
Try a Greenhalghs and note the difference!
Having not eaten Hollands pies for a few years I and my wife and son were all disappointed to find that when we tucked into our Holland meat pies, there was literally a golf ball of mushy gristle filled 'meat'. Although the pastry was ok we are Not very happy and wont be buying hollands pies ever again. I remember hollands being very nice. I suppose it's like everything else these days, taken over by a board of shareholders who are hungry for money but want to make the product cheap for maximum profit and use a trusted name to con the public. I consider this to be fraud.
They don’t even deserve one star. Awful pastry that’s soggy on bottom but like a brick on the outside - fillings are dreadful with hardly any meat in them. Our club has swapped from pukka to these and are charging us more. Pile of excrement (wouldn’t let me use the word s-h-I-t). Won’t be buying anymore while they are the only option. Just close down already disgrace of a company.
Am nearly sixty.
Wher,s the meat gone.
Why does a meat pie taste peppery,Is it because the meat is off* Or is it that ;
They think all old people have no taste buds.
It's a bit like warbis bread?
You can't preserve old age,So stop making money out ove the meek.
Basically Stop Ripping Us Off.
I gave one of your meat pies to the dog he went outside and buried it.
I have just cooked and thrown away one of your 'best ever recipe' cheese and onion pies. The content is cheese flavoured slop. Truly disgusting!
The quality and content of the Holland's products have been systematically reduced over the past few years and now I believe that they have reached a point where they are probably the worst buy and lowest quality products in this market, Out of 3 puddings we found one piece of Kidney, the very small few bits of meat that were in them was gristly and chewy, they consisted of 80% gravy and the suet was thicker than ever.
The meat and potato pies have become pastry containing Slushy mashed potato with almost no meat evident. The Holland’s name in my opinion has been irrevocably tarnished by cost and quality reductions, the current owners of this company know what they have done and clearly don’t care what they have done to this fine old pie and pudding making institution.
