This is a scam website run by a lunatic

This is a scam website. You buy one thing, they sell you something else. I tried to tell Jonathan, the owner, that I was dissatisfied and he started arguing with me, like it was over semantics on an Internet forum. Extremely unprofessional behaviour.

Edit: after I asked for a refund he stopped replying so I disputed the transaction and got a refund. He just now emailed me back and called me “f*** face” and told me to “f*** yourself”. This is not professional behaviour.

Good idea run by an angry teenager

I was genuinely impressed by the catalog and the concept of this website, but the customer service is, quite frankly, a joke.
After a 3-day delivery promise passed with zero communication, I sent a legitimate inquiry. The response I received was beyond unprofessional—it was hysterical. Instead of a simple status update, I was accused of 'harassment' for following up on a paid order and threatened with an IP block.
The management handles criticism like a defensive teenager throwing a tantrum rather than a legitimate business. If you value your money and expect to be treated with basic human decency, look elsewhere. Great products, but the people running the show are clearly not ready to operate in a professional environment.
Zero stars for attitude. Grow up.

They are actually really responsive and…

They are actually really responsive and helpful. Sometimes there are obscure scripts that they may not have (things from the 1940's) or like, an old episode of Airwolf or something. But other than that they're like, a gold mine for scripts. My scripts that I order I get via PDF and generally get them within a day or two. Not sure why there is the hate because the owner is super nice and trust me, they have a treasure trove of movie and television scripts that you can't find anywhere else. They've been my go-to since 2007. Highly recommend.

I've been buying from HSS for years…

I've been buying from HSS for years now. They do have a large amount of scripts that other people simply do not have. I know that they had a supplier back in Hollywood back in the day who passed away so for years they were able to get scripts that nobody else could get (the old, obscure rare ones).

All in all, they always seem to come through. If they don't have something they'll try to find it through their contacts in Hollywood, or they'll offer something else instead. I never ask for a refund but they offer in case something cannot be found again.

I would totally recommend them to anyone who is looking for real scripts. I would say though that if the script is an odd draft or something very obscure, to email them first to make sure they have it in stock just in case. Oh, and they also have new scripts that sometimes they don't put onto their website. So just ask I guess.

Don't Pay for What They Stole From Others Who Offer For Free as Educational Resources

They list scripts they don't actually have (e.g. Millennium, TV) and it takes weeks and multiple emails to find out they lied in their listings.

They also list scripts they stole from other sites to sell for a profit: those Supernatural scripts they have listed? They were bought at auctions by fans and shared in/with the usual sites as a free fandom/screenwriting educational resource. Thanks to shops like this one we had to add huge, ugly watermarks explicitly saying they are NEVER to be sold.

If you can't find what you are looking for, you'll have better luck posting a Script Request in r/screenwriting than emailing this shop about buying it.

*Date I attempted to buy Millennium scripts they have listed was late spring/early summer.

Wow!

I ordered a script on 8/13/21. I had not received a conformation until 8/26/21. Today I sent an email asking for an update or I would request a refund and I would write a review.

I checked my email and the script was delivered today. I sent an update to my response thanking them for the script and apologized for not checking my mailbox before I sent the email.

Here was the response I received;

Your item has been shipped. The tracking number is in your PayPal account. Thank you for the order and the threats. You'll be banned from ordering after this transaction. Not cool. ✌️

I want to thank Hollywood Scripts for directing me to anyone else but them to order scripts.

Buying movie scripts? Don't use Hollywood Script Shop!

I placed an order nearly a month ago to buy a movie script on this website. After I have gotten confirmation emails and the transaction statement on my PayPal, I waited about two weeks before emailing them. Radio silence until I emailed them a second time saying that I would need to dispute the fraudulent transaction if I don't recieve my order before I'm unable to request a refund.

From here, he says he doesn't have the script I requested, even though its listed on his website (and still is). He tries to sell me a different script entirely, and after asking for a refund and for him to remove the false information from his website, Jonathan Rodriguez was extremely rude in response, resorting to name calling and banning me from using his website. In the very least, amidst the rude remarks, he did refund the money.

I would include my email exchanges and screenshots of his website if I could. If you intend to use any site to buy movie scripts, do your best to actively avoid this website. Save yourself the time and money.
