Licence Number: NWL/HB50 with a 4 Star Animal Welfare Rating, which means we have met the Higher Standards Fully insured via Petplan Sanctuary - Policy Number IS50575701 Qualified Pet 1st Aider DBS Checked Day / Weekend / Week Long Boarding available Pictures of your dog can be sent via WhatsApp / Email throughout your dogs stay. While your dog is staying with us it will be part of our family and treated like one of our own dogs. This may mean that if we are off for a day out, then your dog will be joining us. As a family we all love dogs, and while your dog is staying with us it will receive the very best of care, attention and love that we can give it. We are NOT a big business like some of the other pet companies that you may see on the internet. A vast majority of the ones that appear on internet searches don't even show you the accommodation or tell you much about the person who will be looking after your dog, your pride and joy. The reason why we started this business, is that a few years ago we were in the same position as every loving pet owner, worried about where our dogs will be staying while we are on holiday. We looked at kennels and soon disregarded these as an option, as all the dogs we saw looked really sad and depressed just sitting in their beds. So we searched on the internet and came across home boarders. We went round a number of boarders within the local area and not one of them showed us where the dogs would be staying. Not one showed us a dog boarding licence (issued from the local authority which is a legal requirement), insurance, DBS check, Pet 1st Aider etc. All of which we do have and will show you upon your introduction session.

Very poor experience

We unfortunately had a rather unpleasant experience ahead of our dogs first weeks stay at Home Boarding For Small Breed Dogs. As requested by Sharon, we had made necessary arrangements to cage train our dog at night time in preparation for his stay. As explained to Sharon, our dog was not keen on the cage, and it was not his first choice of sleeping arrangements, but he accepted it. Sharon's messages from the outset were aggressive, messaging more than once "I do hope and pray he does not bark at night time". Sharon proceeded to say that if he did bark, she would have to call our emergency contact to collect him. We found this quite remarkable, as a dog that has not stayed away from home before, and would likely be nervous in unfamiliar surroundings, may bark because of this (as would be possible with most dogs). Sharon's messages made us very concerned for our dogs welfare, so with only a few days before we were due to go on holiday, we decided the only option would be to seek alternative arrangements for our dogs care, resulting in us cancelling the dog boarding with Sharon and Tim. We found a lovely dog boarder who bonded with our dog immediately following a 30 minutes meet and greet, resulting in a successful stay. Note, our dog had 3 full settling in days with Sharon ahead of his planned stay, incurring extra charges. Hindsight is wonderful, we should have followed our instincts, as something just didn't seem right with the set up, and our dog failing to be comfortable. In line with the aggressive messages prior to cancelling our dogs stay, we received a formal letter upon return from our holiday, demanding payment due to the late cancellation of our dogs stay, and threatening us with the small claims court if payment was not made. This confirmed our initial instincts, that we were right to cancel as our dogs welfare comes first.

Sharon and Tim, your response confirms EVERYTHING we have stated in our honest review. Well done 👏👏. Everybody, do you really want to deal with these people?!!

UPDATE TO YOUR 2ND REPLY: Sharon, I just want to remind you that we never said it was acceptable for our dog to bark at night, those are your words!! Jeffrey was cage trained (cage now for sale), but as you need to remember, he is a dog in an unfamiliar environment, and dogs do occasionally bark. An experienced dog boarder would be aware of this.

RE: Dog Stay

Wow! How unreasonible was this review, Rebecca and Steve, not annonymous, is that is not your name, we know who you are.

You left us a 1 star review after a couple of day stays when your dog, Jeffery really enjoyed himself, and you, and we have videos of him enjoying himself, so how dare you say you were concerned about his welfare! Would we have our own dogs, and fantastic 5 Star Reviews from other clients, and a 5 Star Rating from the council on our licence, if we didnt have the dogs welfare at the top of our priority. What a very hurtful thing to say!

You were informed on the phone by Sharron, and on the first visit by Tim on the 21st April, that Jeffery must be used to being in a crate and be fully crate trained.
Jeffery is a very nervous dog, and never in our whole lives have we come across a dog as nervous as this, and you know this, but did very little to get him used to us and our dogs! I thought you cared about his welfare!!!

Talking about the welfare of your dog, you did very little to ensure that Jeffery would have a comfortable stay, as if you did, you would have done everything possible to ensure he would be compfortable staying with us, but you didnt! You had over 2 months to bring him so he can get used to us and our dogs, but you didn’t bring him until approximately 2 weeks before your holiday, and yes this is at a charge. We are a business, not a charity and our prices are low as it is!
More importantly, you had over 2 months for Jeffery to be crate trained and it was evident from the day stays and from your conversations to Sharron that Jeffery was not trained in a crate.
All dogs, and our dogs MUST be fully crate trained to stay with us. You also thought that it was acceptable that if he barked or cried in the night that he would wake the whole house up. Our childrens bedrooms are above where the dogs sleep, so is this acceptable for them to be woken up? No dogs that stay with us bark in the night, and if they did, yes, the emergency number would be called so the dog could be collected. You then realised, that as you hadn't got him used to a crate, that he would bark and get us up.

To anybody reading this, would you like someone else's dog to wake you up at night? Tim has to get up at 04:30 for work on some weeks, and its acceptable for your dog to wake us up? I dont think so!

This was obviously not the case here and you cancelled the stay within 7 days of the start date.

As per the innvoice, which you were first given on the 28th April 2024, our cancellation policy is:

“If you cancel your booking within 7 days of the start date, then 50% of the total invoice is still payable”

We advised you of this and you ignored it. The date of Jefferys, stay and pick up went by and still no payment.

We are a business and we were owed the amount stated, and as you ignored this, off course we would have taken you to the small claims court, like any business that is owed money.

You paid anyway in the end, so you no longer have to worry about the small claims court, but your review is still unacceptable, when it is yoursleves who did not oblidge to stick to our terms and conditions, or care about the welfare of Jeffery and get him used to being with us, with other dogs, and with being crated!!

Wonderful dog sitter…

We have been using sharron for both day boarding and over night stays and couldn't be happier with the service she provides. My dog was only a pup when he first started and i was a little anxious about leaving him but Sharron put my mind at ease and he settled quickly. Hes now so excited to go he practically jumps out the car when we arrive. We get lots of photos and videos throughout the day and his tail is always wagging in every one! The setting is immaculate and Sharrons experience of handling dogs means the other dogs boarding are always friendly too.

As an owner of a small dog this is the best care my dog has ever received. Sharron is first class at looking after dogs. She has thought of everything from the initial visit, to the facilities provided even down to the drop off and collection. My dog spend five days and four nights with her and she settled in straight away. I would definitely recommend the professional services that Sharron provides. She kept me updated through out with updates and pictures so that we did not have to worry at all. I will definitely be using her services again in fact I have already booked up for our next holiday. Highly recommend Sharron and the great care she gave my dog as if it was her own. Thank you.

Sharon and her family absolutely love dogs and are wonderfully loving and caring to my two Cockapoos, Rolo and Casper, who really enjoy spending time with them, whenever we go away. Knowing how much Sharon and her family genuinely love and care for my dogs gives me great peace of mind. I go away having a break and a lovely holiday and Casper and Rolo are also having a break and a lovely holiday too!

Thank you Mandy,
Casper has always been our gentle giant to look after, and one of our favourites. Its always a pleasure to have him stay. Rolo has only been once, but he soon learnt where he should be and how we do things here at our home and was not a problem to look after at all. We wish all young dogs behave like Rolo. Looking forward to seeing them both in a few hours, and then again for their Christmas break.

My shihtzu spent 2 weeks here in august and I cant believe how lucky I was finding sharron to look after him while on holiday. We received photos and videos every day showing how much he was having a great holiday of his own with his doggy friends.
The home was immaculate and spacious enough for him to run around and play.
He was so happy there and came home in as good a health as I left him.
We now have another shihtzu and already they are booked in next year while we are away again.
I would highly recommend sharron and her family to anyone
The price is giving you great value for money as well.

Home from home care for your precious little ones.

Can't recommend Sharron and her lovely family highly enough, didn't think we'd be flying off on holiday ever again after having our precious little Toffee. Not only does Sharron treat Toffee as one of the family she also keeps us up to date with photos and videos, showing us how happy Toffee
is playing with all his new friends.
We will definitely be calling Sharron again for the safe and loving home from home service she gives.

We found Sharron by chance and are so lucky to have done so! We left our dog Teddy for 10 days with her and her family and couldn’t have felt more at ease from the second we met her. Everything was so professional and done to make us and our dog feel happy. We loved the regular updates of what he was up to- it was clear how much fun he was having there!
Teddy loved every minute of being there and I know will be so pleased to go back! I can’t imagine finding anyone else to look after my little dog with such love and care as Sharron did.
Thank you so much!

Your kind words are appreciated Amy.
Teddy is a little character and has a lovely personality. He soon settled in with our dogs and the other dogs that were boarding with him, and they all had a fantastic time, as the pictures and updates to you showed. Don't leave it too long for his next stay. See you and Teddy soon

I found sharon on the internet and decided to book my little yorkie In as the website and reviews were amazing. I was very nervous and worried about leaving my dog as I've never left her for long periods before. Sharon welcomed me and minnie into her home and took me through all of her paperwork, and showed me where everything goes and introduced me to the other doggies who would be staying with minnie. When on holiday I was over the moon to see so many pictures every day of my dog on her adventure with sharon and the family, which made me so happy and relaxed. On collecting minnie sharon had me check her over to make sure I was happy, which was very professional, sharon was so kind she even got my dog a blanket and a certificate of her stay. I will 100% bring minnie back to sharon and the family as she is so cared for and loved there.
Thanks guys for putting me at ease. Love lizzy and minnie x

Only a few days before I was due to go on my holiday my dog sitting arrangements changed and I was left with out a dog sitter I started to panic. I have only ever left one of my dogs go into kennels and I didn't have a very good experience but unless I wanted to lose our holiday I had no choice but to look for someone to have our dog. I went on dog kennels site and found Sharon and Tim on there I phoned Sharon and from that first phone call I already felt happier, Sharon suggested I took our dog around to see how he was and wow she made Toby my dog and myself so welcome she was a amazing lady. So on the day l went on holiday I just knew Toby was going to be well looked after and all the time whilst we were away Sharon kept us updated with videos and photos. Sharon and Tim runs a five star plus doggy hotel I no I won't be looking for anyone else to look after Toby again thank you so Sharon Tim and your family for having Toby xx

Just collected my dog Honey from Sharron and Tim. It was her first stay and I was a little worried about leaving her for 9-10 days while I went away on holiday. But, needless to say I shouldn’t have worried at all because they were absolutely amazing with her. She was so happy with their 3 Yorkshire Terriers, they all got on famously and had a terrific time.

I am so pleased that I found Sharron and Tim and the whole time I was away I got pictures and videos of Honey playing with the other dogs which made me be able to fully relax on holiday knowing that Honey was having a lovely holiday too.

I’ve already got her booked in for two more stays this year and I’m sure there will be loads more to follow.

So lucky I found you.

Thank you so much

A safe, happy and caring environment for dogs.

Wilson (our miniature Dachshund) loves staying with Sharon. She provides the very best care for Wilson and keeps in touch with us sharing Photos and messages. He always looks so happy on the photos.

Sharon has 3 Yorkshire Terriers (Harley, Candy and Ace) Wilson is so happy when he sees them, they have such fun together.

Wilson is our first family dog and we were cautious at first about using a boarder for overnight stays. We needn’t have worried, Sharon is Fab! She looks after Wilson like he’s her own.
Her home is a safe, happy and caring environment for dogs.

We can’t thank her enough and can recommend her to anyone looking for a home boarder for small breed dogs.

Thanks Sharon

You'd struggle to find better for your VIP

MY dog Charlie is the best dog ever, so only the best will do for him. I never leave him with anyone (not even my own family/friends) so when we decided that we might like to go away for Christmas(2018), the hunt began. We looked at a few dog kennels (NO WAY) and then looked into the idea of a Home Boarder. We looked at lots (& I mean lots) of Home Boarders but nothing seemed quite right….then we found Sharon. After visiting Sharon, we were so confident that we’d found the perfect place, we went off and booked our holiday the next day. Although HBFSBD is not close to our home, it was definitely worth the extra miles. The accommodation is immaculate, with huge “doggie safe” areas indoors & outdoors for dogs to run around. Sharon & her family are kind, friendly and flexible. Her 3 tiny Yorkies are friendly, sociable & well behaved (as are her children!)
Once we had left Charlie (really hard for me) Sharron kept in touch constantly with Whatsapp messages, photos & videos. We could see that Charlie was sooo happy and we quickly stopped worrying. Charlie was allowed up on the settee, and we got many pictures of him curled up & relaxed watching telly with the family as well as him out walking and playing. He was treated just as if he was one of their own (if not better!)
I am now planning my next holiday, knowing that Charlie will have the best care with Sharon.
Thanks Sharon, see you in May x
