Home Inventories caused us immeasurable and long lasting stress
We rented our family home as a company let to Home Inventories for a few years. They were late paying rent on a significant number of occasions, registered their business to our home address against the terms of the lease, and smoked in the house. When we eventually terminated the lease agreement, they refused to move out and it cost us a lot of money, time and stress to get them evicted. They left owing us rent which we had to recover by escalating court judgements to the high court. I would not recommend anyone getting involved with this company or individual directors, particularly if you're considering renting a property to them. They are completely unprofessional and being in the industry, they know every loophole and trick to avoid vacating a property.
UPDATE: Further to Home Inventories response, they were late paying more often than not during the tenancy period, they threatened us with trespass if we tried to access our property after they refused to move out. We had actually sold our house and yet they still refused to move out causing untold amounts of stress to us. I still stand by my recommendation not to rent to this company or any of their staff and directors. I am happy to provide proof of the CCJs, court enforcement orders and e-mails from Home Inventories if any prospective landlords require it. I'm at a loss to understand how Home Inventories state this is my perspective when there are CCJs and court enforcement orders to support my review.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We regret the stress this situation caused for everyone involved, but we would like to clarify several points about what took place. Over a tenancy spanning more than six years, we did not owe any rent upon vacating the property, nor was any rent ever paid substantively late at any time. There was also no evidence of smoking recorded in the check-out report or raised during the deposit release process; this allegation surfaced many months after we left.
We did not refuse to vacate the property. Instead, three separate housing arrangements fell through at the last minute—primarily due to changes of mind by landlords and, in one instance, a refusal to provide a reference that had previously been given. These unexpected setbacks were beyond our control and caused significant stress to everyone, including ourselves. We have rented numerous other properties without any issues regarding our conduct as tenants. While we sincerely regret how these events delayed the eventual sale of the property, it was a mutually difficult situation. As a director of the business living there with a young family, we experienced considerable uncertainty and frustration as well. We wish you the very best going forward.
No understanding of wear & tear

A property lived in for 3 years and not redecorated by the landlord will have small scuff marks or scratches. Another pathetic company designed to scam honest renters out of their deposit for greedy landlords who do not pay to upkeep their property yet want tenants to pay for redecoration on checkout.
I will not use an estate agent who uses this company again.

As an independent inventory company, our role is to document a property’s condition as accurately as possible, not to make or enforce any financial decisions regarding deposits. We follow industry guidelines to distinguish between fair wear and tear and damage, but ultimately it is the landlord, tenant, and (if necessary) the relevant deposit protection scheme that decide how deductions are handled.
