Professional service, but highly inaccurate valuation - Claim 5000260692
​I want to provide feedback regarding my recent vehicle inspection by Dave. Dave was a lovely person and very professional during the visit; I have no complaints about his conduct or his helpfulness in person.
​However, the final valuation provided for my 2021 Honda SH125i at £2,170 is fundamentally wrong. It is over £1,000 below the current retail market. I have clear evidence from Sutton Motorcycles showing an identical 2021 model retails for £3,199.
​As I use this bike to Study the Knowledge of London, I require a reliable replacement from a main dealer with a guarantee. I cannot accept a private sale valuation with no honesty or warranty. I hope Hoopers can review Dave’s professional report and correct this figure to reflect the true £3,100+ dealer market value.

I only have negative things to say

I only have negative things to say, and the man you sent just made up some stuff so as to charge me more, and refused to understand the circumstances and what had actually happened in favour of trying to save the insurance company some money, he was also being argumentive so I had to end the call with him.
Do not trust these scammer assessors.

Rear end collision

Very pleased so far .not sure whether my car will be repaired or not ,he was sure it would be repaired. My only concern is we live in a very rural area and he suggested that I take my car to a repairers of my choice .but my car is not drivable due to a rear broken light and a rear bumper that's flapping like a bird wing 🙃 see what transpires but so far a good service

Cowboys and scammers. NOT AT ALL "independent".

This company are just actors for the insurers, driving down the value of cars to ensure that scummy insurance companies always win and don't pay out their fair share. What's worse is that the "engineer" who came to check mine was so underhand and snide, pretending to be impartial and asking questions, thinly veiled attempts to undermine my (non-fault) claim after their clients lorry inexplicably smashed into my car for no reason. He also fed me a load of jargon rubbish trying to convince me that my car was worthless now and I'd have to accept £300. Lol. Absolutely disgraceful. Shame on you for being puppets for these big insurance firms. I'd hate to do your job - no morals or justice, just conning people for a big corporate. Well done!

Excellent Service & Professional Inspection

I had my vehicle inspected by Sidney H Hooper & Co after a rear-end incident, and I’m genuinely impressed with the service. The engineer who attended was very supportive, professional, and took the time to inspect the car thoroughly — even checking areas beyond the basic requirement.
The whole process felt smooth and well-handled, and the engineer’s polite behaviour and clear communication made a stressful situation much easier. I truly appreciate the effort and professionalism shown throughout.
Highly recommended — thank you for the great service!

2 month of stupidity

The specialist came twice to check my car. What he said was the car is fine and will be fully repaired and paid for. And they end up saying my car was written off after 2 and half month of back and forth. They are useless. And I never recommend them. The specialist took 2 weeks or more just to send the report to hooper. So disappointing!

Our role, however, is to provide objective, evidence-based engineering opinions based on the information available to us at the time of inspection, together with any supporting documentation and subsequent post inspection enquiries.

In this case, our conclusions were reached following a detailed assessment of the vehicle and a review of the relevant circumstances. As an independent engineering company, we are unable to influence claim decisions and must report our findings impartially, even where those findings may be unfavourable to a particular party.

We stand by the professionalism and integrity of our work and remain available to insurers and stakeholders should any further factual information come to light.

Very good assessment.

It only took one phone call to arrange an appointment for the independent assessor to attend and there was a wait of a week. I was given an afternoon slot between 12 and 4. I was sent confirmation of the appointment.
On the day, I hadn't heard anything and called to make sure they were coming. The assessor, Steve, called me half an hour before he arrived.
I have to say that he was very knowledgeable and efficient. He was able to reassure me that, although the car was uneconomical to repair, it wasn't a Cat S.
I would recommend Hoopers very highly.

I was going to give 4 stars

I was going to give 4 stars, as a time slot between 8am -4pm is pretty hard to work with when you are doing driving lessons.However after explaining my situation Nigel the engineerAssesor gave me an hours notice by phone and Turned up nice and early so i was able to still go about my work after that .He was very professional,polite ,informative and helpful.Hence the 5 stars!

Avoid these useless assessors

The assessor that came must have been blind or just plain stupid, is blind with not seeing the damage on my car, lots of damage and the assessor only seen a scuff on the bumper and the broken grill, I'm also not sure how they assessed my car without putting it on a lift,
They must be getting paid extra off esure to say theres no damage when there clearly is
