This was an amazing experience from start to finish. Caroline Moorey was extremely professional and went above and beyond the norm when helping to finalise arrangements. Her presence on the ride itself ensured that that everything ran as smoothly as possible. On arrival we 'hit the ground' running and were whisked off to our hotel and then off for a tuk-tuk ride to the starting point of a majestic boat ride and visit to the Princes Palace in Udaipur. As it was Divali, it was all the more special to eat in a rooftop restaurant, where we could enjoy the view of the City Palace and watch the celebrations commence for Divali across the shimmering waters.
The Marwari horses provided by Ajeet, were fantastic. Well cared for, fit and willing. The saddles could have been slightly more forgiving for my skinny little frame!! However, the comfy foam, saddle pads did the trick.
The riding was fun and exhilarating, interspersed with stops for lunch made for us by the travelling chefs. After a relaxing break we then continued in the afternoon and rode into our camp, often at dusk or on a couple of occasions in the darkness. The tents were spacious and commodious, having a bedroom and bathroom, complete with a plumbed-in toilet and washing facilities. Sometimes we had a short wait for the tent-wallers to finish, which was often made easier having liquid refreshment of chai, limbu panni, rum, whiskey and other soft drinks. Nibbles were soon followed by our evening meals prepared once again by the travelling chefs. Hot water was always on hand for a bucket shower and so to bed....lovely and comfortable. #sleep came easily.
The Leopard Trail didn't disappoint. After an evening of nothing, we returned early morning to be rewarded by the sightings of two beautiful Leopards who then gave an amazing display of 'fighting' for the best position on the rock! Unbelievable!
Pushkar Fair was an assault on the senses. I am still reliving moments that are 'held in the moment'.
All in all a wonderful, varied introduction to India and the Magical Marwari Horses.
A word of warning, you will need to be fit to enjoy what's on offer:-)
PS It does rain in November...agh!!. We got soaked in an unseasonal torrential downpour whilst on the Ropeway in Pushkar, but we were treated to an amazing tuk-tuk ride back to our hotel. Alton Towers has nothing on this!

All saddles should come with thick pad, as European and African riders seat not used to the military uncomfortable saddles!!
Just loved it all, Pushkar Fair, amazing and what a great job Caroline and Ajeet are doing converting thorn bits to gentler ones donated by everyone in the Marwari Horses. Thank you for a very special trip.

I have just returned from a two week riding safari with Horse India in Rajasthan. It was brilliant. Very well organised, nothing was too much trouble. The horses were in good condition and well looked after. The riding was lovely, the routes carefully planned from green farmland to monsoon filled rivers and desert. The camping was comfortable with en suite wash and loo tents and the food cooked at camp was deliiicious. I have no regrets!

Totally amazing and unforgettable experience, riding in rural Rajistan with Ajeet over our all too short 3 days. The marwari horses are beautiful and treated like the royalty they are. The team at the stables are brilliant, and the food cooked for us was simple but superb. Riding into the palace at Ghanerao was off the scale.

I am an old age pensioner and last year I went on my own for a holiday with Horse India. I started off staying at Ajeet Singh's farmand Marwari horse stud, in a beautiful flat above the stables. From the very first day I was given such a warm welcome. The food was wonderful and catered for my taste. (cant eat hot, spicy food). Ajeet and his lovely wife also his mother took me under their wing so at no time did I feel alone or unsafe. After 4 days of amazing rides, an unforgettable visit to a festival. The pomp and ceremony on a par with similar events worldwide. Then the horses were loaded up, another fascinating experience so different from our English methods. However the horses were relaxed and travelled happily all the way. We were following a lot of the way. Joined The Leopard Safari where we rode for a few hours in the morning enjoying the breath taking scenery, villages and huge watering troughs all along the way for any animal to drink from. When it got really hot we were treated to a delicious lunch under the trees on rugs and cushions so we could have a nap after lunch. What impressed me most however, was each horse was taken off, stripped, washed off, fed, watered and tethered in the shade where they could relax and rest before the afternoon ride. Lunch was about 4 hours. Heaven! Then off we would go to the next campsite. The tents were pure luxury, with comfy bed and are own bathroom!!! Scenery was out of this world as we camped beside beautiful lakes and waterways. Early morning and dusk we could go by jeep with a local Tracker to look for Leopards. I ended up seeing 8 leopards (I only went in the evenings as I like my bed in the morning!! The atmosphere in the camps was wonderful. The staff went out of their way to look after everyone, food was amazing and so healthy. Everyone was happy and relaxed while still being so efficient and skilful. The horses themselves were out of this world ( I have been riding all over the world since I was 2years) and I would take one on these Marwari horses home like a shot. Ajeet was a great host, leader, guide and of course an expert rider. I was in tears when it was time to go home. I could have stayed much longer and will be returning to this wonderful Horse India experience asap. Caroline Morey who lives in England organises everything for you over here and all one has to do is contact her, describe what you want to do and all your needs and as if by magic it is all arranged. I have travelled and had holidays (some riding some not) all over the world and I have to say this was the best one. If you go with family and some of you don't ride they can go by jeep and still experience the full joy of India.
I nearly forgot to mention. Horse India caters for every standard of horse riders. Believe me these horses are so kind and intelligent and will look after any rider however good or a novice. Go and enjoy Horse India.

For experienced riders, the most important will be the quality of the horses. And Ajeet’s horses are without contest the best I have ever ridden on this kind of tours - and I had been on about ten. Well trained, autonomous, sensible to the lightest demands of the rider’s legs & hands, tireless, gentle... and beautiful.
Former palaces changed as luxury hôtels are all amazing, specific, very confortable.
The ultimatum location with the tents by the lake gives access to an absolute beauty.
Last but not least, the man, Ajeet, is a great professionnal, a perfect gentleman and a captivating personnality.
And the land and the people are 10 times worth a visit !

My son and I were lucky enough to be able to stay at the Home Farm where we were treated as one of the family. We have so many wonderful memories - every day was an adventure for us. It was quite rural but we had lovely clear nights and there was always someone around if we needed anything at all. On this point, we would suggest that tea and coffee is provided in the rooms for convenience. Only down side was there was no hot water. I would recommend you see this India and enjoy the wonderful people and Marwari horses.

My partner & I had a private ride for 2.5 days and stayed in the most amazing places. It was a fantastic way to discover the countryside and villages of Rajasthan.
Caroline organised the trip for us from UK and Ajeet was our host. We had delicious picnic lunches in shady spots, set up by the grooms with rugs, cushions and with food prepared by Ajeet's mother.
Riding through Ghanerao village whilst they were preparing for Holi and entering the gates of the Palace was surreal and totally breathtaking.
