Hospedia are oxygen thieves

Hospedia are like Dick Turpin in that they should wear a mask.

My elderly mum has been a patient in Chesterfield Hospital with Covid 19 and bedridden as a result (she's a stroke victim with half paralysis).

We have paid Hospedia over £75 for access to the TV system and this had not worked for more than half her stay. On her being transferred to another hospital less than half way through a 30 day package they would only refund £10 even though they could not offer a service.

Magically they knew everything about the billing and don't tell you how they give refunds but as soon as you tell them there is a fault on the system they do not have any records of contact. Amazing in this age of smart phones that an old Android phone has records of us calling them to report a fault that they say they know nothing about.

You try and escalate to a manager and you'll be left on hold until you disconnect.

Hospedia were in the news for not wanting to give the NHS a discount of any kind during the Covid pandemic and are ripping end users off as quickly as they can for what should be basic services for ill patients who are bed ridden.

If you have to go into hospital take a phone or iPad and use that instead.

People who run services like Hospedia should not be able to sleep at night as they're profiteering off ill people and providing no backup on their services whatsoever.

You should be able to give a zero-star…

You should be able to give a zero-star rating for companies like this. My mother of 84 was admitted to hospital for the first time in her life, to undergo major surgery. For the first time in my life my mum was scared vulnerable and worst of all at this time all alone.
Mum lives to watch the soaps daily and truly enjoys them, one of her very few pleasures in the last 12 months. Unfortunately, the TV didn’t work, and 10 days after being reported still doesn’t. These companies have a licence to print money taking advantage of innocent people at possibly their most vulnerable moments. It’s an absolute disgrace that was allowed to happen and by the reviews “which I wish I had read first” is continues to be allowed. They are more than willing to take payment and to laugh and joke with you on the phone, but once you’re on the hook you’re done.
However, the worst part is that I told mum, I would sort her a package so she could watch the TV, and then have to explain that you’ve tried everything to get it working, but to avail.
Considering the exorbitant prices, they charge for a little bit of home comfort while in hospital, it’s a disgrace that it continues to be a problem for what seems over 2 years now.
if anyone that works for Hospidia actually looks at the reviews perhaps do the right thing and bring to the attention of the senior management team just how poor your service is and how it effect vulnerable people at their time of need.
If you work for the NHS and are in any part if the decision-making team for the bedside entertainment, then please look to use a different provider.
On a positive note, thank you to all of the NHS staff for everything you do, not just now in this time of crisis but all the time and for me especially the fantastic crew on Page ward in St Thomas’s.

Profiteering Scumbags

This company is nothing short of a scam run by profiteering scumbags.

13p a minute to talk to relatives in hospital when all the main mobile networks have scrapped their (hideous) charges during the pandemic. I could understand them reducing the charges rather than scrapping them, but the equipment looks as though it hasn't been repaired or replaced for at least 20 years.

As for the outrageous charges for watching TV - my response to that is simply not printable. It wouldn't be quite so bad if the equipment worked properly.

Sadly, there are few alternatives especially where the patient has no access or is unable to use a mobile phone or tablet.

Shame I have to give this company even a 1-star rating.

Terrible Company

Dreadfull greedy useless Company. paid over £165 over two months in entertainment for my farther who has had a stroke in hospital only to find out he had been unable to watch it due to a confirmation message on the screen he was unable accept.
Very unhelpful staff! Paid for a service he has not received. May as well just have posted the cash down a grate!!
The government and the NHS need to get rid of this dreadfull company immediately!!

The most useless company ever to deal…

The most useless company ever to deal with and believe me, I've had to deal with a few.
Take hundreds of pounds so my dad who is paralysed, had a stroke and cannot speak can watch free view TV.
Then after taking our money, decide to disconnect his TV. We cannot visit to see if the TV is working and only found out he had been without tv when we called hospedia a week later to add BT Sports for him!!
Disgusting and disgraceful company. My advice is, get a tablet and add Sky go. Useless!!

Telephone service??>

My Wife is in Worcester Royal Hospital. We've been trying to contact each other using this service?. The line just goes dead when you pick up the phone, we can't hear each other as the line is too crackly ,the line cuts off mid conversation, The third world countries I've worked in aren't this bad. It must be owned by a Tory donor to get away with this. No proper business would put up with this.

The fact that I have to give 1 star to…

The fact that I have to give 1 star to write a review makes my blood boil!!!

In a time where covid 19 has understandably stopped visiting to vulnerable people, you would think a free access 2 way phone would be welcomed.. HOSPEDIA have a different view.

The fact I was told my nurses that it's a free phone call gave me a little bit of comfort.....at the time....

My 89 year old Nan fell over and broke her hip. we're not allowed to visit and she dont know how to ring using the bed side phone. So the cost falls onto the person ringing her.

The cost is supposed to be 13p an min but I'm already in the £100's and shes only been in 4 days. So its cleary not.

If someone finds a loop hole to get refunds from this scummy company please let me know.

100% bad reviews says it all really.

I live outside the UK & cannot call…

I live outside the UK & cannot call 0800 numbers from here. My mother has been in RHCH Winchester for a couple of weeks now & I cannot talk to her! This is a disgraceful situation. I wouldn't even mind paying the 13p/minute additional cost because I can afford it but what about a pensioner in the UK calling a sick relative or friend in hospital - beggars belief. It's also a form of age dicrimination - my mother's 92 & doesn't have a smart phone with Skype/WhatsApp.

Customer Service is also crap - got Hospedia's no. from my sister but either I get an engaged tone or put in a queue for an operator but gave up waiting.
I have a friend here who's in hospital following a car accident - I rang the local hospitals's main no., got a friendly operator who put me through in 5 seconds flat - call cost me practically nothing! that's how it should be. Rip off UK!

Ripping off patients at a time of crisis

Dad is in hospital, having recovered from sepsis but now dying of terminal cancer, and we can't visit due to the coronavirus. He is very confused and phone calls from his family are helping him cope but it's costing us a small fortune to speak to him. Even access to the normal TV channels cost after 12 noon. It's immoral and should be illegal.

Complete rip off especially when visiting is suspended because of covid. Who in government is doing something about this? It can't be allowed to continue. Charging premium rates to patients and relatives in hospital is a complete disgrace. I'd be ashamed to work for Hospedia.
