My site is blacklisted simply because I use Hostmonster

Usually, service has been fantastic. But a few months ago I discovered I my website is blocked from inside my office (large tech company). This is concerning since my layoff, and I'm applying for other gigs. I asked HM about this and what they were doing about it (no response.) Here a few months later, I discover that a LOT of companies have HM sites blacklisted. Apparently HM serves so many spam and malware sites that everyone gets blocked. And they simply don't care.

Disappointing Service after 12 years

I've been a 12 year plus customer of Hostmonster but when I really needed them, they have disappointed. I finally moved one of my two websites due to problems with loading and plugins working. As soon as I moved the one, all problems stopped. I've tried correcting things but their online chats are tedious and very slow. I don't hear well enough to do phone calls with them. I am likely taking my other website away soon because I am just tired of dealing with them.

RUN FAR AWAY, FAST

Hostmonster used to be pretty good. As of this past year. RUN FAR AWAY! Our websites that we spent money and time on creating are gone. 3 months of trying to retrieve them through Hostmonster. Horrible customer service. They are now outsourcing their support team. WHAT A JOKE!!!

Couldn't get my website to appear

I contacted live chat to find a solution to why my website wouldn't appear. The lady came on and deleted all the plugins which reset the website - I'm happy. She then showed me how to activate each plugin separately and see what happened. The website is still operating so I'm happy. Next time I'll be able to sort the plugins myself.

Terrible service.

Terrible customer service. They will put you on a slow server that never works and you will have to contact them every single week until you end up having to switch your hosting because they're trash. Never use this. Please.

Scam Company, Illegal charges

I never had a hostmonster account or signed up for one; somehow they had my card number and charged me over $130 over two days, even though I called them and told them on the first day it was fraudulent and I never signed up or authorized charges on my account.

The day after I spoke to their supposed "customer service" they then charged me A THIRD TIME.

Finally got fed up with tech support

When the phone support techs start ducking you or begging for good reviews, you know something is wrong. Was with them for 8+ years (fear of migration hassle!) I've had chronic email problems with them for years, with spam programs rejecting my emails because I share a server with their spammer customers. The final straw: to get you to pay for the SQL cert, the "free" one drops without warning twice a year and the phone reps are either dumb or play dumb, claiming they will fix it, but don't. You have to keep calling in (sometimes long queue) and restating the problem until finally one does it. Same pattern, twice, 6 months apart, 3+ calls per incident. Reps know that if they don't hang up before angry customer does, it aborts the rating/survey, so they play this game when they know they're shining you on, or beg for a good review after telling you the SQL will take time to propagate (but doesn't). This added to generally low competence level of the phone support techs to begin with. Best I can say is there hasn't been any downtime for years.

Bad customer care services

I have never had such a poor experience before; their agents are not professionals, especially agent Sumith; he is not listening, and they do not have SLAs or an escalation matrix.
My business is stuck with such a service
NOT RECOMMENDED for anyone looking for professional customer care services.

Critical Fix Provided

I have been with HostMonster more than 10 years. A recent PHP update left most of my Website dysfunctional. I was about to abandon my website but I reached the right technical support person. Vicki was able to change settings on the back end that I could not have done in the control panel that made everything work again. I had a good feeling she was the right person even before the fix was done. She was so personable.

Jay is a great Technical Resource

Jay is one of the best technical resources I had the opportunity to interact with... our ecommerce site was down and our clients could not get access to our products, Jay took the time to understand the problem, he consulted with his colleagues, tried different approaches and he solved all our problems under 25 mins... amazing.
