There was a company called HotelsPro that also went by Metglobal and otel.com. When Covid hit, these companies froze millions of cash deposits that belonged to their travel agency partners. They promised the agencies would be able to use them again. As months went by the company disconnected their phone numbers and ceased to reply to emails. They had employees tell the travel agency partners not to worry because great news was coming in June 2021. There of course was no great news, instead the company re-opened as HPro Travel with an almost identical website as Hotelspro and the same employees that lied to us about refunds. Luckily my company drained our Hotelspro deposit down prior to COVID because we saw the writing on the wall so we only suffered a very small loss.

I hope this post helps save time, money and aggravation of my hotel, supplier and travel agent contacts that are or may've worked with HPro Travel.

I worked with this company for many years as a travel agent. Due to the pandemic, no bookings were made in 2020. But in 2021, booked a hotel in Cancun and paid $ 2090 at Hotelspro. When the customer arrived at the hotel, their booking was not found. I urgently tried to call the emergency line - the line is out of service. I have tried to call any number found on the voucher, on the HOTELSPRO website and in our previous emails. ALL telephone lines are out of service. So I had to pay $ 3,500 for a new booking with another partner. Later I found a personal contact of a person who previously worked at HotelsPro, and he gave the contacts of another person who only replied by email. From this person I received information that the work of the whole company was stopped. There are no employees in the office. And, note, as an exception, my USD 2090 will be credited to me as a deposit at HotelsPro! As an exception??? What kind of deposit can we talk about in a company that is bankrupt ??? It looks like the company is currently scamming to raise as much money as possible for non-existent bookings.
