Very disappointed partner brought a ring after being measured at Chelmsford branch , advised wrong size and ordered advised can resize took back advised ring can not be resized more that two sizes and can not do anything even though brand new as length of time purchased! Spoken to customer service and they checked the ring and advised this type of ring can not be resized and that Chelmsford on two occasions have advised incorrectly! Don’t bother going to this branch as they clearly do not know what they are doing!! Wasted £1500

It was fairly easy to choose what you want although there was quite a few sub menus to navigate. Other than that it was good.
I had purchased a gentleman’s watch from John Lewis however on returning home I discovered that the watch wasn’t working. So return the watch to John Lewis however they could only off me a refund as they said to send the watch away to the manufacturer would take 6/8 weeks? The manager of the department suggested it could possibly be that the battery wasn’t working? And for me to go and get a replacement battery? Unfortunately reading the guarantee from the manufacturer it reads if the watch is tampered with in any way the guarantee would be void? So because we couldn’t be sure if it was the battery or a mechanical fault or just a replacement battery was needed I said to the manager said if I were to take the watch to get a new battery and this not be the case what would she do? She said she would reimburse the cost of the battery and if the watch was faulty she would refund my money. Because my husband loved the watch we decided we would go and see if we could get a replacement battery. Just a few steps away I noticed H Samuel jewellers in Chelmsford shopping centre so decided to go in . I explained the situation to the assistant who was happy to see if a battery replacement was needed. After a short time the assistant came back and explained that trying to remove the back of the watch the back got badly scratched? This was done in a very apologetic manner the assistant couldn’t have been more sorry for for what had happened! However the assistant took full responsibility and said that H Samuel would have a new back put onto the watch and a new battery and if there was a mechanical problem that would also be resolved at the cost of H Samuel ? Lastly because I live quite a distance from Chelmsford the watch would be sent to me. I could not believe how H Samuel would do all this when I didn’t even purchase the watch from them ? Knowing that John Lewis really didnt the want the bother of helping me resolve the issue with them mearly just offering to refund my money? When I expressed that all I wanted was the watch I had purchased in working order? I decided to leave the watch with H Samuel so they could deal with the issue. I was told it could take up to 28 days before I would receive it back. Lastly I had a phone call well before the 28 days that the watch was repaired the back had been replaced also a new battery installed and the watch was now in working order and H Samuel would send it to me . I received the watch a day later and my husband was delighted. Just want to thank Chelmsford H Samuel for. 1St class service and how the staff in the branch are very knowledgeable and helpful. So well done H Samuel.

I must say I had the most wonderful experience with Louise who works there. She was very attentive and has given me some wonderful ideas. Great rapport, a beautiful smile and very kind. She is an asset to your Chelmsford branch. I did not make a purchase today as I have some options to think about but 100% I will be returning there.
Explaining our current situation that I was diagnosed with cancer last year and that treatment had caused me to lose weight, which meant my current wedding band had became too loose to wear. We were sold a silver wedding band, which we were promised the ring would be ready for collection on or before Monday 24th April 2023 and that my wife would receive a text message to state we could collect.
Monday came and went without any message. So we called on Tuesday asking if we could collect, only to be informed that the ring wasn’t ready for collection and that no date could be provided when the ring would be ready. We were also informed that if we wanted a refund we had to contact head office, or go to their store to receive the refund.
The only reason we purchased the ring was because time is critical and we were promised the ring would be ready for collection on 24th April 2023.
We were basically told a pack of lies and given broken promises so a sale could be made. Awful and disgusting behaviour.
We have since placed an order with Ernest Jones who took payment and will be delivering the ring one day later.
H Samuels really should be ashamed of themselves for the way they conducted themselves. Taking advantage of our situation to make a sale. Dishonesty will only get you so far and I would advise people to shop at other jewellers. Especially if you’re visiting the Chelmsford area.
Disgusting customer service from the store. Lacking of empathy on the phone and clearly chasing the sale than being honest and communicating politely.

Clearly from your reply you do not read reviews, nor do you actually admit to any fault. You pass the buck and makes excuses. Don’t allow store staff to make promises that can’t be kept. Don’t make out it’s the customers fault or that they’ve failed to understand something. You as a company failed to deliver. You as a company lied. You as a company took advantage of our situation. You as a company failed to take responsibility.
I sincerely hope people read this review and shop elsewhere. Disgusting customer service from a dishonest company.

I’m yet to pick up my order and reluctant to due to the absolutely shocking service. Everyone seemed to unbothered to serve you and so unenthusiastic. A a fellow signet employee I enquired about using my staff voucher which was then taken off me and applied before the ring even came in, by a manager/supervisor that didn’t even great us when she came over to assist the sales assistant. Would never choose to shop here besides the fact Ernest Jones didn’t have a ring that matched mine. Such a shame. We all have off days so went in again to check the ring once it came in to receive another blunt and unenthusiastic service. Will be picking my ring up at the end of the month and hopefully won’t have to come back to the store again after that !

Saw a pair of earrings on the HSamuel website but click and collect would have been too late for the recipient so I thought I’d pop into town to the store.
A lady called Sarah helped me. There were none on display so she searched until she found them! Thankyou Sarah!

I was ignored by 3 members of staff who thought it was more interesting to watch a video of someone's grandchild playing in a paddling pool.
Had to exchange my rings they handled this with no problem and I chose two new rings and i was very happy with my replacements this was done under guarantee . I received a very good service from both members of staff .
Beautifully displayed products in a bright and airy showroom. Assistant quickly approached and dealt with my query. On my return to collect the watch which I had opted not to have repaired, the assistant then showed me a selection of watches in my price range that I had seen online. A very satisfactory experience.
The sales assistant was very welcoming, listened to my request and showed me everything that was available. She also took great trouble to search through stock which had been boxed up ready for sending out of the store and found me two items, one of which was exactly what I wanted. My granddaughter was very pleased with her gifts and your sales person is a credit to the store. This is the second time I have shopped in your Chelmsford store (I previously bought a watch for my daughters birthday) and I would have no hesitation in recommending H.Samuel in Chelmsford.
Chose myself girls were chatting between them selfs made my own decisions was taken to till not much conversation or interaction was asked insurance but not the greatest service
Normally a girl called Louise works there and she’s chatty smiley and helpful but she wasn’t there great shame

We weren’t sure what to get for a 21st present but on looking at the lockets decided that was a good idea and the young lady pointed out the ‘family’ engraving on the back which suited perfectly
This time I was only person in the shop , one more lady came in and left after few minutes. It was around 10 am . There were 3 lady's in the shop working but I did have to wait a while to be served. Finally a young lady served me but I did feel like I'm taking her time , no smile, no communication. I was buying a present and didn't know there was something like present receipt as she didn't tell me. This lady really looked like she can't be bothered selling. I'm not sure if I want to go back there.

Looking for a present for someone’s 50th. Decided to go to H.Samuel as I have bought from them before. Decided to go to the shop and not online to actually see the products. Found the staff very friendly, patient as I couldn’t decide. Helped me narrow my choice down as they had a large range. In the end settled for some lovely earrings
