This machine did a good job on the hardcore base for my shed, when it was running.
I put down about 100mm of MOT1, in two approx equal layers, vibrating in between. then topped with about 20mm of sharp sand. Final surface was good enough to play snooker on, so no problems about the suitability. The plate is chamfered at the front to ride over bumps but when pulling the squared off plate back into sharper corners it gathers material making the corners higher. Same was obvious for the sides when turning corners sharply.
Now the real problem... pull cord snapped on the second pull. Because it was knackered, not because i'm built like Popeye. Dismantled it and found both the recoil spring had jumped off or snapped and the cord pulley had part broken off and a previous repair. Rethreading it was tricky, and i had to remove the cover, manually rewind the cord and replace it each time i wanted to start the machine. Just very grateful that it started on the first pull each time.
Not a bad machine, not poor quality, just badly maintained. Hence the middle rating
