The customer service is horrible and verbally abusive

The customer service is horrible. I have on several occasions asked for supervisors and had them to file a complaint because of rude disrespectful and abusive customer service. Humana sends me a generic letter of apology. Today a customer service rep in Enrollment for VCC told me to be quiet and listen. Humana says they listen to the calls. Each time before they just apologize. It seems that this is a Humana culture to verbally abuse the elderly or older people. It is my intent to report this to the State and the Aging Commission. This culture Humana has fostered is inhumane and needs to stop
I realize we live in a world now where people have no character or care for the dignity of life. It is sad that Humana seems to take that treatment throughout their culture of business.

CONSTANT HARRASING PHONE CALLS

I've had this plan for three months now. So far, so good. My MAJOR complaint is that they call me EVERY DAY, sometimes TWO or THREE times a day. What nitwit(s) at the corporate level think this is acceptable? They've already been sued in a class action suit for this harassment.

Don't do it

Don't do it! Look around! They will say what ever you want to hear and lie about your actual benefits! They are notorious for denying medication.

DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR LIES.

DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR LIES.
I signed up for Humana’s “Medicare Advantage” believe me, their is NO ADVANTAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boy they really talk it up when they’re trying to sell you.
The reality is:
The co-pays eat you alive.
Their “network” is so narrow I’ve had to drive 20 miles “FARTHER” just because the provider (2 miles away)I usually go to is out of network.
PORKED ONCE AGAIN BY HEALTH INSURANCE
Trying to call customer service is a complete joke! Usually it’s someone who doesn’t know what they are doing. Most of them have screaming children and barking dogs in the background.
Very unprofessional.
Is this what we are supposed to put up with??

New to Humana 2026

New to Humana 2026; put me in the wrong plan; DIDN'T SEND MY SPENDING ACCT CARD b/c they use a sorry 3rd party vendor... then doesn't disclose AT ALL in writing or anywhere that to USE SPENDING ACCT CARD YOU MUST ANSWER A HEALTH ASSESSMENT TEST!! How dare they hijack ones ability to use it towards groceries.. despicable. I'll probably be switching back to my old ins provider! And even after you do the test you have to wait almost a week to use card. no food in my fridge due to these disgusting companies. i can only imagine how they'll be w/ my claims! BEWARE!

Beware of signing with Humana MA for 2026

After 2 phone calls and over one hour of being put on hold, I got answers to 2 questions and 1 incorrect answer. The other 2 may be correct but only time will tell. Member services is from a foreign country using badly trained operators. I just signed up with Humana and will be, in 2 weeks, begging my former insurance company to take me back. Big mistake!

Josh Amsden/Humana Rep.

Josh Amsden was so helpful, patient and kind to me and my wife Jennifer. He took the time to explain everything to us of all the great benefits that Humana has to offer. We were so pleased with his professionalism that we couldn't ask for a better agent than Josh. Highly highly recommend!

Humana Needs Human Touch

When I sign with an insurance company it with the knowledge of certain doctors that I need. When I signed with them, I was assured that all my doctors were covered until I tried to go to my Cancer Doctor. They said it was out of network and only paid a percentage, they did pay the lab as it was in network. My doctor left the practice and moved away, I was not notified by the office. I went in to do lab work and still was not told until after the fact. Then I received a bill in the mail for over $500 for the blood draw and a bill of $103 for the office visit. I have been on Medicare since 2011 and never once in that time have I been treated in such a manner.

Don't get this Plan!

I was diagnosed with NAFLD (Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease). This disease can cause cirrhosis, as well as the possibility of having to get a Liver Transplant. The way to cure this disease is weight loss. My Doctor prescribed Wegovy. The Prior Authorization, as well as the appeal was denied by Humana. Apparently the only way to get this medicine thru Humana is to have had a heart attack or a stroke. I have to diet and contacted a dietician to help me devise a diet plan. Although this company is In-Network, Humana's criteria for paying for the doctor visits is if you have Diabetes and once again a stroke or heart attack. Otherwise, you must pay out of pocket. And since I am disabled and on Social Security Disability, I am on a fixed income and cannot afford these visits, or the $1300.00/month for Wegovy. My income goes towards the cost of living. I cannot help but wonder if Humana plays the odds that you will not survive a heart attack or stroke, so they won't have to pay for weight loss. My BMI is 32 (Obesity level) and I'm also pre Diabetic. All legitimate reasons to prescribe Wegovy, but not at dangerous levels as far as Humana is concerned. Why else would they not help people before surviving a stroke or heart attack, which will wind up costing hundreds of thousands of in hospital stays, doctor costs, tests, possibly operation, medication, and rehabilitation therapy? Why not help people avoid this by approving Wegovy or even dietitian visits to help people lose weight to cure or reduce the chance of getting cirrhosis or a transplant. The reason is the almighty bottom line. Humana and other Medicare Insurers are just taking our payments and putting them in their Executives salaries. The only help I'm getting is research on the internet.
