Unfriendly & hostile when asked basic queries

In the course of my applying for a job through them, I requested from the rep I was dealing with their company's registered name, address, company number and VAT number:
they repeatedly ignored my requests for their company and VAT numbers;
she stated they were registered in Gloucester but the company name they gave (Hunt4enterprises) is registered in Cinderford.
Please also note: the company name they appear on Google as (Hunt4recruitment) is, according to Companies House, non-existent (which is what lead me to start asking questions).

When pressed on my queries, it got unpleasant. I got told that if I didn't come in to their office (and -paraphrasing- stop asking questions) they wouldn't help me find a job.

When I wrote a bad review, it got worse.
The company owner responded on Google reviews making up utter lies about me: that I had refused to come in to their office because I was an "anxious" and "fearful" person due to being "scammed in the past". I couldn't believe what I was reading - attempting to discredit me just for doing due diligence.

He said their company name was 'Hunt4employment' and that they were registered in Cinderford. I don't know why a company would be known by 3 different names, or why 2 of those names are registered to the same exact same industrial estate in Cinderford when they only operate in Gloucester...but it doesn't smell right to me.
All-in-all, a VERY unpleasant experience and I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.

Helpful experience at critical time!!

At a time when I was in need of work urgently - Hunt4Employment responded very rapidly in coming to my aid. One Monday morning, I simply wandered into their Gloucester Office, had a chat and got registered. Within a few days, to my utter surprise - I was in full-time employment with training on a skilled asignment. It was like simply ''walking into a job''! Now although after a month things didn't work out on that particular assignment (through no fault of Hunt), again, very quickly within days - I was re-employed elsewhere! Yes my experience so far in working with this agency has certainly been a positive one and I have found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. Jonathan

Less useful than a chocolate teapot

I was sent at short notice to have an interview. When I arrived for my interview, the person I was supposed to meet was not there and no one was expecting me. I was eventually interviewed by a member of staff and offered the job on the spot and it was arranged I would start the following Monday. I informed the agency and then days later I checked my email to find a message saying the assignment had been canceled. No explanation no phone call. I found the staff to be unprofessional and of less use than a chocolate teapot. They did not read my CV and this lead to them asking me stupid questions. When challenged on the fact they did not read my CV they lied unconvincingly saying the the job website I applied through prevented them from seeing my CV (complete male bovine excrement). I received text messages with emojis. Later I received text messages from them offering jobs unrelated to my skills. In short I found the experience an unprofessional waste of my time where I felt I was treated with no respect what so ever and it resulted in no work for myself.
