Extremely bad, dishonest and unprofessional customer treatment

I have been a happy owner of a Breitling watch in my collection for several years and I have always been very satisfied with its flawless performance. It has been purchased at Hvelplund and consequently always without exception been serviced by Hvelplund in Copenhagen. I only wear it occasionally as I have other favourite watches in my collection. In fact I have not worn it for the last three years at all due to living and working abroad. Nevertheless, when changing the battery today, I was informed that something inside of the watch had broken….. allegedly by itself. 3 years ago when changing the battery last time, a mayor repair was also needed. At that time I believed Hvelplund and agreed to a “repair” but now I have lost all confidence in that company. Confronted with that, It was suggested by Hvelplund that the defect was due to me having visited an unauthorised dealer and had him tamper with the watch. I assured the clerk that this was not the case. I was then asked dismissively to present my old receipts from my visits to Hvelplund. I responded ; “what will that prove”?

I am not use to having my honesty questioned - certainly not by a much younger and fairly ignorant female clerk so, highly irritated, I did actually manage to find my receipts from Hvelplund for the last 10 years, as I have an appartement in Copenhagen near by, including the latest receipt showing the repair. The receipts being presented to the staff including the silly young clerk, no one really seemed to know what to do besides patronising me.
No senior member of the staff nor any responsible manager were available. I decided, that I was wasting both my time, energy and my money so I decided to leave this sub standard interprise.
It naturally goes without saying that I can hardly recommend anyone the “services” of Hvelplund. My experience is nothing short of a farce. Someone pretending to be something, they are not.

I truly believe, that they make up false findings in a dishonest attempt to boost their earnings.
I am certain, that a new examination by the certified dealer in London, that I use for my other watches, will reveal, that nothing is wrong with my Breitling watch at all.
Alternatively the present defect must originate from an inadequate previous repair or failure.
Should I by any chance be mistaken, I will of course without any hesitation change this review and apologise to Hvelplund for this accusation.
However, I think that bad business ethics is the real problem.
Dubious and highly unprofessional people trying in any way to boost their earnings - unfortunately.

Twice in a row - fantastic experience

I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with Andreas Rosenberg now twice, both in relation to buying a Rolex. From beginning to the end it has been a smooth process, transparent communication, good pricing and most of all, everything has been in perfect order, just as ordered - I will definatly keep taking my business there in the future

As usual Hvelplund is very helpful.
I have been buying watches here for the last 5 years and it’s always a pleasure to enter their store.
The service level of this shop is brilliant!
5/5 is the only review I can give as it’s so pleasant to shop in here!

Pleasant experience

I had a great experience the other day whilst buying my first luxury wristwatch at Hvelplund. Despite being young, I was given all the attention one could wish for - great conversation about the watch (note: in English), the history, how to operate it - treated with absolute respect. My sincere recommendation goes out to the salesman named Tobias - very knowledgeable and friendly, and just encouraging enough to seal the deal. Thank you for this special day!

I always enjoy visiting Hvelplund

I always enjoy visiting Hvelplund. The staff is very Polite and competent. I am happy with all the watches I bought over time.
I urge anyone interested in watches to visit Hvelplund.

Incompetent and rude

The people in this shop can be described in two words: incompetent and rude. I have had my RADO watch for 11 years and it has been perfect, spotless and reliable, a with service done in Munich last. As soon as it was serviced by Hvelplund, it stopped being water proof and it even got dust inside. When confronted with both these facts they become very rude and dismissive: “I cannot help you”. I realise they can’t because they do not know how and offer a service that damages the watch and makes you then spend even more money repairing the damage they made: a sleezy business model but cannot be one with a future? I cannot understand why Rado uses them as the only service shop in DK, but they will never ruin my Rado or any other watch that I own. And for those of you out there looking for service for your watch, try fine watchmakers in Cph or just send it to the company directly. On their website, Rado offers a free insured freight service and you will at least get it handled by proper watchmakers, not shoemakers.

Hvelplund just lost another customer!

Hvelplund just lost another customer!
I went by their store during the weekend to make a purchase - and as they did not have what I wanted she told me that they could order it Monday and have it 3 days later. As a needed it on that day where they said they could deliver it I agreed on calling them Monday and put in the order over phone. The lady told me to call at 10.00 to make sure to have it in time.

When I called Monday the guy I talked to said that he would call the retailer and confirm that they had it in stock (I was first told 3 days, now it was 4 weeks). He did not call me back - so when I called him he said he could not make it a priority as he had other customers. When I told him that I was a customer as well he started to say that it was me that did not make the order in time and he also ended up hanging up on me... will never support them again!
