Political left activists angry about loosing relevance

There was a time when IGN felt like it was written by gamers, for gamers. That time has passed.

Over recent years, IGN’s reviews have increasingly reflected cultural and political priorities that have nothing to do with whether a game is fun. Whether a game aligns with the right messaging has started to matter more than whether it respects the player’s time or simply works.
And when audiences push back, IGN’s response is dismissal at best and contempt at worst. Legitimate criticism gets recast as toxicity. The implicit message is clear: your opinion, as a player, does not matter here.
That is a catastrophic position for a games media outlet to hold. When you start treating your audience as an obstacle to manage rather than people to inform, you haven’t just lost your integrity. You’ve lost the plot entirely.

IGN lost the plot years ago and always gets it wrong. They are an arrogant group of writers who no longer have a semblance of professionalism or legitimate criticisms. They are condescending and more pay for grade. How does Crimson Desert get a 6 and Veilguard gets a 9? The developers fix the issues, IGN calls them naive. The players say the game is not a 6 and IGN got it wrong, IGN condescends and says that the players are a "certain time player." Proof that it is time IGN leaves the game review world as they alienating their audience. They have no value and need to go away.

Schills for sure. Little to no actual knowledge of what gamers want. Absolute paid for review points.

I’m writing this as a long-time reader who used to trust IGN as a go-to source for gaming news and reviews—but lately, that trust has been slipping.

Over time, the quality and consistency of IGN’s content feel like they’ve declined. Reviews often come across as rushed or lacking depth, especially for major releases that deserve more thoughtful analysis. There’s a growing sense that scores don’t always align with the actual critiques in the review, which makes it harder to understand the real value of a game.

Another issue is the increasing amount of click-driven content. Headlines can feel misleading or exaggerated, prioritizing traffic over clarity. Instead of insightful journalism, a lot of articles seem designed just to generate engagement.

It’s also frustrating to see how frequently updates, corrections, or follow-ups are needed—sometimes suggesting that content is being published before it’s fully ready. For a platform as established as IGN, that’s disappointing.

IGN still has talented writers and the potential to produce excellent content, but right now it feels like quantity is being prioritized over quality. I hope the editorial team takes steps to refocus on thorough, honest, and well-researched coverage, because many readers would like to trust the platform again.

Biased Fake Reviews. They serve the purpose of bad Western games. Please, don't trust their review on deciding to throw or buy any game. Do thorough research.

Ordered a vinyl record, payed well over $100 in total with shipping and customs fees, they shipped it in a simple cardboard sleeve and it arrived damaged. The vinyl sleeve/cover is completely damaged and they refuse to replace it/send an undamaged item. They also will not allow me to leave a review; the option disappeared since I've been vocal about wanting a replacment! Don't order from these guys, they simply do not care and will scam you

IGN is a huge steaming pile of garbage. The nerds who work there are a bunch of SJW toy-collecting millennials who believe that the only great games in modern gaming are arty farty movie games, fantasy RPGs, shooters with toylike guns, Nintendo and indie games. And anything outside of that is either trash or "mid" to them, so basically they just love nerd garbage. These weirdos unironically believe that their taste in video games somehow makes them more intelligent than others. They see their reviews as facts rather than opinions. Just a bunch of weirdo SJW nerds.

But enough about IGN and their awful reviews. I want to specifically talk about their website HowLongToBeat. So I visited HowLongToBeat to post a review but their website was down, or so I thought. I used another Wi-Fi and the website worked. So I had the suspicion that they blocked me from their website. This happened before Thanksgiving, so it was on November 26 of this year. And I definitely checked the day before I was about to post the review, because I had a sinking feeling that they were going to mess with my reviews the day before Thanksgiving, because they know people are busy that day. And sure enough I was right, because Nov 26th was the day they blocked me (and I can confirm that my account was untouched on Nov 25th). I didn't even bother to login immediately to my account, because I knew the mods did something to my account. So I decided to look at my profile first before logging in and that's when I found out that the moderators messed with my account. They deleted all of my reviews, set my account to private and wrote on my bio "I'm an actual piece of sh**" and that caught me by surprise. I knew they were going to mess with my account, but I didn't think they were going to insult me on my bio.

I wasn't going to let the moderator get away with making me look like a fool on my bio, so I tried logging in and apparently the password was wrong. So I changed my password through my email and deleted the bio the same day they posted it. And I still had access to my account because the idiot who messed with my account changed my email to the same thing that was on my bio, so obviously it was an invalid email address. And when I used my OnlyOneHere account on HLTB on Nov 26th, I was blocked from posting reviews and other features. And some time after Black Friday, I tried to login so I can check if I still had access to my account, and I no longer do, because they likely changed my email address to a valid one. So rather than banning me, they chose to block me and insult me on my bio for everyone else to see.

And I know for a fact that I wasn't hacked. I had accounts on the internet since the AOL days, and not once have I ever gotten hacked (website accounts only). And I've been on Metacritic for 7 years under the same username, and I've never been hacked there, and in just 4 months I was "hacked" on HLTB, despite the site being even less popular for reviews. Metacritic mods deleted my reviews and edited stuff out, but they never added stuff to my account, nor did they ever insulted me by calling me a piece of crap. Speaking of which, that's another reason why it was a moderator and not a hacker. Because they called me a "piece of sh**" I mean, really? Is that the best you got? If it was truly a hacker, they would've called me something that gets under people's skin, something so politically incorrect. Obviously, the woke dirtbags at IGN will never dare post "offensive" insults. And while most hackers lean to the left, they have no problem using highly "offensive" stuff that go against their "beliefs", I mean they're hackers for a freaking reason. I've seen profiles get hacked before, and hackers always post politically incorrect stuff on the bio if they want to insult their victim. And moderators are moderators for a reason, because they are a bunch of bootlickers that abide by the woke agenda at all times. Hackers don't care about ethics at all, moderators definitely do when it comes to wokeness at least, so it's obvious who called me a piece of crap.

"We didn't do it" well someone at IGN certainly did, so you better find out who that soy boy was. If it was a hacker, okay I would love to see that guy prove it. You already know what my email address is, go ahead and hack this right now. And I know what you're thinking "pretty funny email address" of course it is, moron. Because I knew you mods were going to mess with my account, no way would've I gave you my main, main email. You toy-collecting millennials are so predictable. So go on hacker, prove me wrong. Oh wait, the IGN moderator isn't a mod for Google, so of course he can't hack this. Not to mention I got blocked from HLTB's website. No hacker is stupid enough to block me from HLTB because they know how easy it is for anyone to bypass that. I rest my case.

Be careful when ordering to EU. The IGN Store will charge you taxes, but it will not inform the shipping company about this. As a result, you will most likely end up paying taxes twice, once during the order, and once together with the import fee after the item is delivered.
