Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people expressed dissatisfaction with the product quality, citing issues like dull colors and blurry details on items. Customers also found the website poorly designed, with inconsistent layouts and interactive maps that didn't always load correctly. They frequently reported a negative user experience, including being blocked from the website and experiencing issues with their accounts. Reviewers also felt that the social media content and game reviews were biased, often promoting certain games while unfairly criticizing others, leading to a perception of being out of touch with what gamers truly want.

Does everything that I ask

Does everything that I ask, I usually just use this site for reviews and honestly most of the reviews are honest and ones that are helpful, however, it gets annoying when you realize that it seems a lot of the people that review games seem to be paid. Some games just have an oddly high number for it's rating. Especially shooter series, they are getting way too much praise while platformers are stuck at the bottom simply because a lot of people don't prefer them.

Meh, getting worse

Quite late in placing things out there, reviews often rather biased to certain types of games, art styles and consoles. Videos are often good, but not the best layout

Too Biased

Reviews on the site these days are way too biased. Seem to always refer back to why x console/game is superior to y, even when x is a fps and y is a sports game.

Still number one

Have tried loads of different review sites over the years and always come back to IGN. It has everything you need to help make an informed purchasing decision and the reviews are both helpful and informative. I love it

Incapacitating Advertising

I've been using IGN for a while and whilst some reviewers are better than others it has often be the case that their reviews can be trusted.

What I haven't been fond of in recent times is the amount of obtuse advertising, banners and pop-ups that have actually made it impossible to use the site. A recent example included Alien Isolation (a game they waxed lyrical about until everyone's pre-orders had been delivered... In fact games developers can almost solely blame IGN for the death of pre-ordering games) where the banner blocked 3/4 of the page making the site virtually useless. My current issue is the Borderlands Collection advert on IGN's mobile site which blocks the page entirely when opening the homepage rendering the site completely unusable - there isn't even a way to exit the advert or stop it from appearing, it disables the site completely.

So, at least a few weeks away from IGN for me, such a shame as despite the occasional questionable hype or review I've stuck with it for many years.

1 of 2 websites I trust for reviews.

I really like the way they put lots of efforts and time into explaining and breaking down the important points of a game or TV Show. I thank you guys for your great job and keep up the hard work, I'm sure there are thousands like me that are very happy.

Great Gaming News Site

IGN.com is great gaming news site. I have been reading the site for years, and I learn about everything gaming. It's not as "inside" as it's name suggests; however, it does it's job very well. If you want to keep up with what's happening in the gaming world, then look no further. IGN.com is one of the best.

The best game review site

My favorite site not just for video game news and reviews, but also for anything entertainment related. Great interface and easy to read. My only complaint is the amount of ads that pop up right over the article you are reading.

Biased gaming coverage

Rarely you'll find an original and interesting article on IGN. However, their videos can be decent, ranging from informative to humourous, and is the strong point of the site.

Unfortunately, they are given an incentive to review certain games favourably, which really tarnishes IGN's reputation amongst gamers. For some reviews this is really obvious and distracting, especially compared to other gaming review sites (but this practice of companies pushing for good reviews doesn't just fall onto IGN, don't get me wrong). You might as well be reading a piece written by the lead developer of a game in some cases.

They do have some good writers, but they're just not given enough free will.

An overhaul is needed of their commenting system, which is poorly implemented and usually just serves the purpose of breeding criticism and arguments between users.

Honest, Detailed Reviews - Unbiased

I cannot recommend IGN enough compared to the competition. It is my opinion that they're honest, unbiased and certainly appear to enjoy games unlike some other sites!
All of their new reviews have videos which is great to watch on my iPhone and these are kept to a sensible length.
The news section is worth checking on a daily basis as is kept up-to-date.
The only area of improvement which i'm sure they'll get to is more coverage of iPhone games..

Good quantity and quality of reviews

Like video games? I sure do! But I do love to see what reviews a game got before I buy it. When I want to see a review I usually head over to ign.com to see what they are saying about it. The reviews have great length and detail allowing you to know how well the game performs in several different areas such as graphics, sound, gameplay, and replayability. Besides game reviews they have cheat codes, movie reviews, music reviews, car reviews, and general entertainment info.

I love the diversity of reviews of this site and it is professionally put together but I do think some of the reviews can be off with some very apparent genre bias present. For this reason I had to dock off a star.

Top 5 websites!

This is in one of my top 5 websites and I always use it for the latest news and reviews on games. Plus I've got to get my "daily fix". My only minor gripe is its american and all release dates, prices etc are american. Thats the only thing that stops this site having 5 stars.
