WARNING
WARNING! The worst removalist company I have ever dealt with. Avoid this business - they will rip you off. Unethical practices, stand over tactics and predatory behaviour. Full Inventory was provided prior to quote of $3900 being given and $500 deposit paid. Once you are committed they then send you the terms and conditions and a list of other possible charges (warning: extra costs are ridiculous and exorbitant).
They also demand full payment 48 hours prior to the arrival of the removalist.
I stupidly paid in full.
The removalists arrived late on Saturday afternoon and tell me “the office had got the price wrong” and there was no way the inventory I had provided would fit in the space they had quoted (25 cubic metres)
They said they would do the job anyway but couldn’t reach the office to check on the “new price” as they had arrived after 4pm the day of pickup instead of at 9am that morning. They then quoted $6500 after they had loaded most of my furniture on the truck as the job had now become a “premium job” (?) and was more like 40 cubic metres but they couldn’t be sure and I should just accept it as it was a good deal. Their office was now closed until Monday.
At this point I had no alternatives as it was 5:30pm on a Saturday evening, I had paid them $3900 upfront already, the truck was nearly fully loaded and I had to be back at work on Monday.
I reluctantly agreed to the $6500 to complete the job.
By the time they had finished loading the truck the price had gone up to $7000. And I was told that I would need to pay $500 cash to cover all the “extra
charges” I had incurred before they could leave. Again I had no choice - they had all of my furniture, I had already paid them $3900 and I needed the truck to be in QLD in a couple of days.
They left and I got a call later that night from the driver saying the boss had confirmed the price was now $7800 and I would need to pay this in cash on delivery before the truck would be unloaded.
Unbelievable. I was now genuinely worried I’d never see my possessions again and I’d fallen victim to a scam.
Two days of nervous waiting and the truck did actually arrive on time at my address in QLD but once again the office are on the phone to me demanding I pay the balance before the removalist unloads the truck. I tell them I will pay as soon as they unload the last item as I am concerned the price is going to go up again.
They called me again and again, text me several times and also call the removalist - I told them I’d pay the balance as soon as they were finished unloading. At one point they had the removalist call them back in front of me and he made me talk to them in front of him, I told them the same thing but now I was being stood over and told they would not finish unloading until I paid them more money.
We were at a stalemate, they had all of my possessions on their truck, and I was telling them to finish the job and I would then pay the balance.
They put their manager on the phone who demanded payment and I told her the whole story - she didn’t care - she just wanted payment and kept saying it was in their terms that all payment had to be made upfront and they wouldn’t unload the rest of the truck until I paid up.
The most unethical business practices I have ever seen. I truly feel sorry for the drivers and removalists that have to work under this company.
Will be making a complaint to NSW Office of Fair Trading regarding my experience with iMove Group and the exorbitant costs incurred and will also be reaching out to others who have shared similar grievances against the company - they need to be named and shamed so no one else goes through what we did over the last four days.
Never use this service
Where to begin..... the pick up was 6 hours late, the two men who arrived where horrible and complained with every box they had to move (sorry mate that's your job) they packed the van so badly that they could not fit the specified amounts in.
Arrived at drop off location and complained to me about every single thing possible.
I have never had a worse experience and I make sure to tell every person I know moving never to use them.
Great service
Great service used These guys to move from Sydney to Melb over night and they were great !
Very quick and efficient
Very quick and efficient. Would definitely recommend them.
The pick up was 6 hours late to collect…
The pick up was 6 hours late to collect my furniture and very sentimental items which resulted in me missing my flight home.
Due to me having to leave the premises so they would do the rest of the pick up i told them 5 times what doors to lock up and they did not follow my direction which someone then broke into my home (garage was wide open)
They then increased my price by $440 which was not agreed on pre-quote. I explained the them to get me a quote and they would only text me a BSB AND ACC number. They sat outside my new home screaming at me saying they won't leave until i pay even though it was much more than the quote as well as missing my flight and having to repair the damages for a break in.
My booking was on 1/4-2/4/23
not even a sorry for having to pay 250$ for flights x2 people for the latest and organising a key delivery to police to have my garage locked as they left it wide open as well as the front door? what is this! i told them this was a DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE ALL I GOT WAS HOME UNSECURED AND RUDNESS
Do not book
Arrived late. Very slow a projected 4 hour job turned into 8.5hours. Joked about how they were on an hourly rate. Complained about stairs they had been notified, the weight of the furniture of and the heat. Swearing constantly and left heavy items such as the washing machine still at property. I had to organise to move this myself. I have an expensive dining table that they wrapped in one blanket and rolled to the truck. It now has damage around the edge of the table.
DO NOT USE THESE THUGS THEY ROBBED US!!!
We booked a 3 bdr interstate move from Syd to Gold Coast and whilst shopping around a snr member of iMove Group badmouthed Monarch Removals and convinced us to book with them. We booked and paid for 20cubic meters in a shared van which would have allowed us plenty of room to fit our belongs.
Leading up to the move I sold ALL our furniture including, sofa, dinning, occasional chairs, ottomans, dryer, washing machine, filing cabinets, shoes, homewares you name it. The only large items that were left to move were Fridge, 2 beds and mattresses, coffee machine and microwave, 1 bay high chair which folds up and a baby cot that was dismantled. Out of these items the removalists from iMove ONLY took the shell of the Fridge NOT EVEN the doors nor trays! They were rude, abrupt and turned up to our place at 6:30 am like that. They demanded cash payment and drove off with only SOME of the boxes not even all, and the shell of our fridge whilst my husband tried to reason with them to allow him to at least attach the doors and trays for the fridge as it had my medication that needed to remain cool - this was also advised to the removalists as soon as they turned up.
The 2 men that turned up were aggressive and rude. When we contacted the office demanding our possessions to be returned and our contract to be cancelled with iMove they swore at the agent and told her to tell us to get F'd. So they not only took off with our possessions illegally against our will and authority but also left us with a 12month old toddler with NOTHING. Nothing to feed her, nowhere to let her sleep, left my medication in the heat to go off and refused to refund or assist with another truck to take our possessions as per their original booking.
INSURANCE - They sold us with the promise to have piece of mind that they are fully insured and so is our item....LIES! they do not insure goods, and keep emailing me advising i should have purchased additional insurance after they damaged 1 of 2 mattresses they took as well as a missing Galaxy tablet, broken Armani bag, Missing canvas painting, broken cabinet with legs snapped off and the list goes on. Still despite providing photo evidence they refuse to assist or refund! The are stuck on the fact that we should have known and purchased additional insurance despite never mentioning this and selling on the point that we are fully insured with our goods during transit.
CUBIC METERS PURCHASED - They did not stack all boxes to the top as we were told they would....again photo evidence provided by the witness who gave them access to our property upon delivery. We paid for the space.....they refused to stack it. They chose what they wanted to take with zero priority to how they took the boxes and refused to take anymore despite having plenty of space in the truck with what we booked. The removalists were aggressive, they remained non communicative, they both made an absolute mess of our place which had its end of lease cleaning done the day before to allow our tenants to move in day after we moved out. They ignored my pleas to ensure my medication remained in the fridge boxed up with ice packs, they refused to take my babies essential items such as her cot, high chair, her walker. They left ALL other essentials behind and refused to add anymore into the truck and yelled they are late for the next pick up demanding payment.
The owners were apparently notified of the issues immediately. I contacted iMove team at least 15 times that day alone and every day thereafter. I had not heard back from the owner who responded only with the exert regarding purchasing additional insurance. No acknowledgement of the disgusting service, no apologies for the pathetic process or for taking the shell of the fridge and nothing else, they took the couch but left the cushions, no word about my medication nor that we were left in Queenslands heatwave without food or water and had to make trips to the shops each meal time to feed the family as nothing could have been reheated without a microwave nor kept cool in the fridge out of the heat. The poor and disgusting service in this so called small family owned business stems from here......when the owners can't be bothered and show zero empathy how can we expect better from their staff? Go to Product Review for detailed account if how badly we were abd continue to be treated by these disgusting ppl who claim its a family business and I should back off. They removed our reviews from Google who had this company rated 2.6 stars. Please give yr money to charity not these thugs who will rob you in daylight. I've seen 6 reviews in 1 week where they did the same thing to others even treated and intimidated them and held their possessions on ransom. DO NOT DO NOT use these guys they need to be shut down.
DONT Book this people, UNPROFESSIONAL
Book this people, confirmed the day before the arrival time was 9am, was called at 6.23am on booked date to arrive at 7am instead of 9am, we they finally arrived the team leader decided to argue with me about the time and then told me it would take at least 3.5 has to move 10boxes, fridge, washing machine, lounge, 2 beds, and a few other pieces of furniture, he then complain about my internal stair which they had been told about, everything was boxed up and disassemble.Customer service disgusting l told them to leave after 15mins and lost my $200 deposit. Beware they think they are your boss and don't get it l was paying their wages. Good bye to disgusting service
Don’t use this company if you want the job done
Booked this company to move interstate, they turned up at 6pm at night. After walking down our driveway and inspecting the house contents the driver said he would have no issue coming down in the truck, he then drove down even though we said it was safest to reverse, he then said he wouldn’t get out if he was loaded so reversed back and got stuck, we asked him to wait and would would get him out, he ignored us and then destroyed our driveway and garden edging. Then said we needed to use our own vehicle to transport everything up the driveway and they would charge us more to do so. After telling them that wasn’t fair, they left and now refuse to refund our deposit. Staff on the phone are rude and will not return phone calls. We are now stuck two weeks before Christmas in a fully packed house with 2 children and trying yo organise someone else last minute. The extra costs are huge, including the repairs to the driveway and garden. Do not use this company if you want a stress free move!
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE and STAY AWAY From…
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE and STAY AWAY From this company.
I moved between houses only 1 km distance I end up paying $1,180 for 3 trips for 9 1/2 hours with a 4.5 tons truck instead of 12 tons truck as per contract. I asked verbally and followed with email for my receipt but they never send me one.
Don't trust with this company.
WORTS COMPANY IN AUSTRALIA!!
WORTS COMPANY IN AUSTRALIA!!
If I could give zero stars I would.
We unfortunately chose imove to move us from sydney to brisbane.
after about 8 phone calls prior to our move quering the size of the truck with Mary and Georgie multiple times as we had a massive laser booked in as well for which we paid extra and provided the dimensions to Mary over the phone they send a truck way too small and then lied and said that that is the biggest truck for removalist, which was proven a lie as they dropped of our laser in a truck double that size a week later. We ended up having to pay $3500 more on the day of the move just to get the rest of our belongings picked up and then they again estimated the size of the truck needed wrong and could not load all our belongings.
First truck was stopped for being overloaded and rhey dumped some of our belongings next to the road, and then lied about the fine recieved, we were told it was a $3000 fine but it was $800 and Taif made it out that it was our fault that his people overloaded the truck, from the get go they were abusive and argumentative.
Now they are refusing to lodge a claim for my missing and or stolen items, stating that that is not covered, even after I again confiremd that it was with Georgie and Mary.
And Taif then thought it was a good idea to try and extort more money from us if we complain or leave bad reviews on their service and even went so far as to send us an invoice for delivering our laser after we paid for moving it in the original quote. This was his lamed arsed attempt at bullying me to keep quite and not expose him and this company for the scamming fraudulent pieces of crap they are!
Total value of items lost due to Imove is $10 000 that includes, bedding, cricut and materials, clothes, about 20 pairs of shoes and some of my jewelry that was moved on the first truck.
Pleas be aware of these people, they intentionally underquote you and send a smaller truck to scam you out of more money!!
Horrible experience and horrible people to work with!!
The only plus this company has is Shannon and his team, just a pity they work for this company!!
iMove moved me recently
iMove moved me recently, they were great. Very friendly, helpful and took great care with my stuff. I was very happy with them.
Fantastic service
Nawras and Savio could not have been more helpful. They phoned me 1 hour before they arrived and when they did both of them greeted me with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. They wrapped couches, pictures etc and were extremely professional and courteous. They were in and out in just over 1 hour. I cannot recommend these 2 chalming young men more highly and have no hesitation in recommending this company. Thankyou boys. Much appreciated
Shocking do NOT use
Moved from ground floor to ground floor. Lady on the phones said approx 5-6 hours after i itemized each item but was then charged 12 hours. I noticed after being charged that they actually finished an hour earlier than they charged me for. Super slow guys, at one stage two of them were together carrying a pot plant 10 kgs that I carried solo when pregnant. Also damaged several pieces of furniture and left indoor furniture outdoors. When raised and disputed both length of time and the damaged furniture was told their guys don't take any breaks during a 12 hours session, were absolutely non-negotiable regarding the length of time it took and the speed they worked, and got sent a link to their insurance policy. Save yourself the headache and do NOT use.
Beware - untruthful & appalling customer service
Move booked in 4 days before move date - a residential apartment move, Sydney CBD to the new place 3km away. I had requested a 8am move as the new apartment had strict time constraints re moving. When booking the move, the iMove person sounded
charming and professional, slick website and telephone answering service so I thought all was good.
By 8.45am on the move day (6 January 2021) the removalists hadn't arrived. I call iMove only to be told the truck is on the way and they'll be about 30 - 45 minutes as they'd had mechanical problems with the vehicle. OK, things happen but I'm really unhappy because no one's called me to tell me there's a problem and that they're running late. 50 minutes later I call iMove again because the truck's still hasn't arrived (they said it would be 30 - 45 minutes). The iMove person says she's surprised they're still not there and that she'll call the truck again to find out what's happening. I wait for the call back. And I wait. And wait. After another 20 minutes I call iMove again. "Where IS this truck and when is it arriving?!?!?!?!" I am now pretty upset. I ask for the driver's mobile and name. The iMove person says she doesn't know, only her boss has this information. Really? That makes little sense to me. Why wouldn't iMove person know who's been sent out to my job or the driver's mobile number. I'm suspicious. Something's not right here.
The truck arrives at 11am, 3 hours late. No apologies for being late. None at all. I ask the driver what the mechanical problem was - he points to the front right hand side tyre and says it needed to be replaced. What nonsense. The tyre rim was dusty and there was zero indication that that any of the nuts had been removed. I'm becoming more suspicious.
But to the move... that went OK. They did the job but one of the guys didn't appear to know what he was doing. He tried to load a glass-fronted fridge onto the trolley FRONT first... Thankfully I stopped him doing this. The other 2 guys were fine. They moved quickly and I thought things were going fine. At 2.15pm the driver guy tells me to phone iMove to make payment for the balance owed as he and his guys are leaving at 2.30pm. WHAT???! The guy says his boss says he's got another move to go to. So, we finish up very abruptly... the iMove person then calls me and literally just asks me for my credit card info to process payment for the hours 4 hours (3.5 hours move and 0.5 hour travel time) ending at 2.30pm. No asking how the move's gone, no apology for the horrendous delay earlier, no offer of any gesture for the 3 hour delay. No sooner had the payment gone through she said thank you and goodbye and ended the call.
So here's what I think really happened re my move:
1) iMove had subcontracted out my job to a 3rd party removalist outfit. They did not appear to be iMove removalists - no iMove branding on the truck or on the removalist guys' shirts for example. The fact that the iMove person did not know who was doing my job and that her boss seemed to be talking to the driver's boss is further indication that they were a 3rd party.
2) iMove's assertion that the reason for the removalists being late was due to a mechanical problem with the truck is false. There was no new tyre on that truck that morning. What I am 99% sure happened is that they had another job to do before coming to me, even though I had booked the 8am slot.
3) Neither iMove nor the 3rd party removalists cared one bit that I had been massively inconvenienced. Any notion of customer care or customer service from either was non existent.
In summary, iMove is not the slick, professional removalist outfit it says it is. Far from it. I know some people on this thread appear to have had good experiences with iMove, but not me - and a few more recent customers I have noticed. Luck of the draw I guess.
So if you are thinking about using iMove, be very aware of how your move could turn out. I just wish I had read some of the more recent reviews before selecting iMove. I won't be using them again or recommending them to anyone.
Great Sydney Removalist
We had a great experience with imove group. The crew were very professional and polite. We highly recommend this Sydney removalist for all local and Interstate moves
