LOVED this course, Tom was an incredible lecturer and really kept my attention with the way he teaches. He has the right mix of directness and wit. I left leaving confident to go back into clinic to put the skills we learned into practice. I will absolutely be doing more courses with these guys in future.

Well structured course with good levels of support, and very knowledgeable tutors.

I am currently undertaking a veterinary certificate in small animal surgery and have been thoroughly impressed. The course offers exceptional teaching, hands-on practical sessions, and outstanding facilities. The tutors are not only highly knowledgeable but also approachable and supportive, creating an inspiring learning environment. Highly recommended for anyone advancing in small animal surgery.

The online tuition was presented well and the visual aids were informative. Some tutors were better than others in response to questions but in particular the pathology/endocrinology lectuer was very helpful as was the respiratory medicine lecturer and dermatologist.
However, the approach to the exam was woeful with very little information where approx 2 weeks prior to the exam a new invigilation model was put in place. Although there was a practice log in session this was only to see if screen share was working and the internet speed was enough. Had it not been s,o then it would have been very stressful sorting that out in the short time available. This exam though was stressful enough without then trying to know why the computer would not let me start the exam only then realising that my phone camera was meant to explore the room rather than my internet camera. Some better information on this would have been appreciated. I also realised in my next section that I was about to be allowed to start my exam only then realising my invigilation was not recording possibly resulting in an automatic fail. My stress levels were then through the roof making it extremely difficult to focus on my exam. I will admit my view is coloured having failed one of the components of the exam which I believed to be excessively pedantic despite getting the diagnosis and treatment correct but admit I had not considered EVERY differential. I was previously happy with a prior certificate I had done with Improve and wanted to replicate the experience but I was disappointed. Even the reporting of the results was poorly delivered. I had expected the results within 6 to 8 weeks but it took 10 weeks. It would have been nice to get an update email now and then just to let us know when to expect the results. It was a much more unpleasant experience with this certificate but I hope to persevere and complete the certificate at a later date.

I previously studied for and gained a PgC in small animal medicine with Improve in 2014 and was very impressed with the venue, speakers and organisation. I have been working towards a PgC in ophthalmology over the last couple of years and although the course content and speakers were still very good the organisation by Improve was not. Both in my course and for colleagues doing certificates in many other areas there were mistakes made with dates of the attendance days, some deadlines were unrealistic, dates of exams and coursework deadlines would change and sometimes were elusive. Given almost all attendees are busy working practitioners we need to depend on solid organisation and did not consistently receive this which was both unnecessarily stressful and frustrating given the cost of the course.
If this review were just on the speakers and course content it would be 5*. If it were just for Improve’s management/organisation it would be 1*.

The quality of the course was good but I was very dissapointed with
- Advice given online, how accessible it was to find out what the next step was
- One time they summoned all the delegates on a certain date but the teacher wasn't told the right dates so we spent two days there in vain
- The exam in 2023 was a disaster, they uploaded the wrong CBS exam which delayed things and stressed us out, I failed (unsure if due to the stress or if I was meant to fail anyway) but that was very stressful

Online modules were good, comprehensive with knowledge checks to backup learning.
In person lectures there was just too much to take in.
The exams process was handled terribly. Not to know the time of the exam with less than two weeks to go is appalling.

Previous experience with Improve International endoscopy certificate made me chose them again for my SAS Certificate.

Modules were excellent but the exam experience was unprofessional and disorganised.

Fantastic tutors with low tutor to student ratio. Amazing faculty for practical sessions and lectures .
