Waste of time and money

What a complete waste of time this website has become. I used to be able to rely on Indeed for basic requirements for Electricians, but now even those are impossible to get. I just get overseas applications only now and candidates with no working experience of the UK. Totally useless, If there was an option of no stars, that is what they would be getting, never using this site again.

Hi Grant, to explain, employers on Indeed are charged per click, not per candidate. Indeed isn’t involved in hiring decisions and can’t control candidate quality or volume. You have full control: set budgets, and pause or close jobs anytime. As a self-serve platform, please review active sponsored jobs regularly to keep listings up to date and avoid unwanted charges, ensuring a flexible and efficient hiring experience.

We'd recommend checking out our Help Center articles for employers, to assist you with all areas of posting a job and writing effective job descriptions to attract the right candidates. https://indeed.my.site.com/employerSupport1/s/?language=en_GB

Censorship run amok. Young techies that are scared of the truth

This is what absolutley drives me crazy about this job search board. They have people, that for whatever reason, can take an honest review and reject it! I have included a recent review, that I re-wrote 3 times in an attempt to have posted. Each time it gets rejected! Judge for yourselves and tell me they are not biased:

Great pay if you can get past constant belittling and profanity
Outside Sales Representative
Grand Prairie, TX
Typical work week was being required to run sales appointments as early as 9:00 in the morning and as late as 8:30 at night, 6 days a week. The job itself isn't so bad, but lots of driving wears you out. You are required to attend sales meetings on Monday and Wednesday. These meeting go on forever and are never positive. Constant personal attacks along with helping you to understand YOU are the problem. Everyone always left the meetings demoralized. I have never worked for a company where management believes yelling and excessive profanity is going to make things get better. Leads are from appointment setters working inside Home Depot. They, for the most part, are terrible. Most people have no idea why we are showing up to their house. Other leads are new homeowners that we won't stop calling. Best decision I have made in a long time by leaving.
Pros
great pay if you sell something. Quick installations, good warranty on products
Cons
Very harsh management, No real help with coaching. Yelling at people
NOTHING that mentions anyone by name, no profanity used, ONLY THE TRUTH ABOUT THE COMPANY!! You can't tell me that Indeed ins't a scam!

Hi Alex, all company page reviews on Indeed are subject to a moderation process. Our goal is to make sure we are posting reviews that are transparent and reflect the true working experience of the company. However, if any part of a review violates our guidelines, we will not post it. If you wrote a review for a company it may still be undergoing moderation as this process can take up to 48 business hours. If after 48 hours, you notice the review has not been posted or that the review was removed after being posted, it is likely that the review did not conform to our guidelines.

You can view the guidelines at: https://support.indeed.com/hc/en-us/articles/360046789111-Company-Review-Policies. We advise you to look at our guidelines and revise your review and repost it. Unfortunately, we are not able to discuss individual reviews that may not have been approved.

I’m a 64 year old Boilermaker/Welder

I’m a 64 year old Boilermaker/Welder. I can also drive HR trucks and cranes. I’m not good for any armed forces jobs not an electrician or any type of office manager. But every second job is army/navy/airforce. The others consist of jobs in another state than where I live. So out of 100 jobs I sometimes get 1 that might fit me. Although indeed says my profile says every job suits me.
Get off your ass’s boys and girls and stop with the useless AI rubbish and get real people to do the work. Maybe that way there would be less people looking for a job/

Hi Mark, to explain, Indeed’s search engine is built to surface the most relevant roles, but broad keyword matching or limited context can occasionally pull in unrelated results. We’re continually refining this so the right jobs show up first. To get the most relevant results, enter keywords between quotation marks related to the job you want (for example: "Welder").

We would advise checking out our Career Guide page: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice, there are some great resources here that will assist with all areas of your job search.

Old outdated postings and scams

Used to a good job site but now it's filled with scam and old job postings looking to steal your information. Employers accounts also get hacked frequently. Indeed is only looking to steal and sell your information, its not set up to actually have you find a job anymore. Trying to delete your account is also an extreme hassle as there is no option and you have to file a request with their help center now. The amount of time you'll waste on here applying to old or ghost postings is insane. They just want to pad the numbers and make it look like your getting somewhere

Don't trust their reviews

If I write any negative review on a particular company no matter how I word it it's gets rejected as it doesn't meet indeed guidelines and isn't a reflection of the working environent. Yet you see reviews of other companies like this "great place if you like getting mugged off for little money. tbh the people are great but the General manager is a little boy and the other managers dont know there ar se from there elbows" I saw that review today. Yet no matter how I word my bad experience at a job despite my review being a truthful experience of the environment and low staff moral and management style it's never allowed. You see so many reviews that should be rejected so much more yet no matter how you word yours it's rejected. It's like certain companies are paying Indeed. The joke is I've written a review had it rejected, then I've literally copied and pasted it on another company "just to see" and it's been allowed. I've even written a review that's been allowed, then my wife has written the same review a week later and it's been rejected for "not meeting guidelines" lol DONT TRUST INDEED REVIEWS what so ever

Not free, blatant false advertising

Before you invest time trying to claim a free advert ,dont bother. I listed one role 9 months ago , went unfilled. Now I ant list this role again with "sponsoring" the job . Its not free and their marketing claims are false.

Hi Kieran, employers can currently post up to 3 free hosted jobs per calendar month. Once you reach that limit, any additional jobs you create or reopen in the same month will need to be sponsored in order to appear in search results. Each free job can also receive up to 30 days of free visibility; after 30 days, it will pause and require sponsorship to go live again.

These limits help keep our marketplace fair and ensure good visibility for employers who invest in sponsorship, while still offering meaningful free access each month.

98% of the jobs are scammers

98% of the jobs are scammers. Do not put your phone number, address, or email on your public profile or resume. When filling out applications avoid filling out recruiters online forms. Most of these are information farms for scammers. Waste of time in my opinion, if you see a job you want call that said company directly.

Around 3/18/26 or so

Around 3/18/26 or so - if I want to delete my account, I should be able to click a "delete account" buttong. It should take me 2 seconds.

Instead, I am receiving absurd messages such as this one:

"Start of Your Request to Delete Your Personal Data
We have confirmed your request and will begin the exercise of deleting your personal data associated with this email address and/or phone number. You should receive confirmation from each Site once it has completed the exercise."

After I complained about the above message, the response I received was:

"Thank you for your message.

We are currently processing your request. You should receive another email when that is complete. The process can take up to a month, with most requests completed in a week or two."

I would file a complaint with a federal agency, such as the FTC, but they've all been gutted.

This is beyond absurd.

Update: I finally connected with Indeed and they finally closed my account, but it took way too much effort on my part. I should be able to delete my account with one quick click. It shouldn't take threats and entreaties on my part!

Unethical

Only 1-star because it’s the minimum. Should be zero!

Indeed all of a sudden is REQUIRING you give them your phone number AND accept call from them/whoever they sell/share your contact info with aka TAKE TELEMARKETING calls!

What part of ETICAL is this? They have no need to require/retain far less sell/share it & your PIA with ANYONE else!

Needless to say, I will refuse. Their jobs are normally all filled before they post anyway thus their site is pretty useless.

They should be sued for misrepresentation & unethical behavior! They’re no longer representing any ethical business nor ethically handling of their responsibilities of being a safe & harbor for employees to share their private PIA far less job history!

Best to delete any info of yours they have & avoid them like the plague!

4/4/2026 response to Indeed reply: How is forcing job seekers to provide their phone number & agree to accept telemarketing calls ethical - far less acceptable?

I understand multiple-factor authentication yet KNOW that using a phone is only ONE means of doing so. There are plenty of other alternatives! Additionally- what part of that scenario involves the third-party contacts you are required to accept call from? The correct answer is “None are acceptable”! Therefore your excuse/explanation/response is completely FALSE!

I hope others realize what rights they’ll lose & exposures they’ll have if they “sign off” on whatever the real reason for this deceptive practice is - BEFORE it’s too late! I DEFINITELY will NOT be party to this deception!

Hi Maureen! Thank you for sharing how you’re feeling about this. We understand that being asked for a phone number can feel intrusive, and we do apologize that this has caused so much frustration and concern. To help keep accounts secure, our system currently requires verification by sending a code to a mobile phone number or landline. This helps us confirm it’s really the job seeker accessing their account and protects against unauthorized access. We also understand your concerns about how your information is used. Indeed does not provide your phone number to third parties for their own telemarketing purposes, and we take your privacy seriously. You can read more about how we collect, use, and protect personal data in our Privacy FAQ here: https://www.indeed.com/legal/privacyfaq. We truly appreciate your feedback about this process, and we’ll be sure to pass it along!

Awful user experience

Awful user experience - I have 20+ years of experience and Indeed's AI help engine removes 90% of the jobs I want to review. Most days it shows me 10 jobs then I go to real search engine like Hiring cafe and apply to 40-50 jobs - even Linkedin is 10 times better than Indeed. Sometimes I want to search for a job for my daughter - there is no easy way to do it without messing up my future searches - Indeed sucks plain and simple

Bob,
Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed feedback. We genuinely hear the frustration you’ve experienced with Indeed’s AI job recommendations and search experience.

We also understand your concern about wanting to search on behalf of your daughter without impacting your own recommendations.

Our AI matching is designed to surface more relevant roles. If you are not getting the desired results, we’d like to look into this more closely. Please email us at trustpilot@indeed.com so we can review the following:

-Your profile preferences and the types of roles you’re trying to see but aren’t being shown.
-How you’re searching when looking for your daughter so we can suggest ways to separate or protect your own results.

Again, thank you for your candid feedback—it helps us improve both our recommendation systems and how we support job seekers like you and your family.

Support needs to comprehend English

Support people need to be able to do more than fog a mirror. When someone challenges a notice that their profile has been locked for possibly violating some rule, the support person needs to do more than tell one to file an appeal. What, from that notice, would tell one what they needed to fix, or appeal? Sorry folks but I've been a support person for mainframe products -- that is the worst response one can give -- Here go fill out this form.

The zendesk ID: Indeed support+id4946WR-DGM3N [Edited so that Trustpilot could handle it]

HTH: Steve Thompson
_______________________________________
First, when I attempted to fill out the appeal, I got an error out of your web server. I posted that in my complaint that is internal to you. NO one has replied to that as far as I can tell. So now you are requiring me to fill out your form. Ok, so help me out here, what am I appealing? How do I fill out that form, when I don't have any idea why you blocked my profile. Your support person couldn't answer that question, but had to issue the request. So what am I appealing, bad punctuation? And why did YOUR system want a copy of my Drivers license, or my passport? What legal right do you have to demand such? You are not my prospective employer. You have my emails. I think your goal now is to make me look like the problem and not accept that you already have the information you have to have to look into this "situation."

Once you do that, our Trust & Safety Team will follow up with you on the appeal and share the outcome. Thank you!
