How is this even possible to be called a bank if we can’t even call you on the phone and that everything has to be done by email! And when you send an email there are no replies given…
Worst banque in the world !! You are luck that we have to put a minimum of one star but rest assured that if we could put minus stars you would deserve minus 10/10!
This relates to accounts in France but reflects the policy of this bank at its headquarters. The bank has decided to stop operations in France, in itself an action that is difficult for its customers, but they have done so in the most incompetent and least caring way. Incompetent subcontracted people, working from home with children crying and no files available, putting customers on file at Banque de France by mistake, etc.
To release a bank rental guarantee it is over one month and I am still waiting for my money. All documentation has been sent weeks ago. Their process is ridiculous. Can't call anyone directly to see what the problem is. Different people working on the file and they don't share info. A total mess. Awful customer service.
It has been over a month since I applied to open a current account. I have received the ATM card and the PIN, but my account is still not active. The customer service representatives I call twice daily are unable to tell me what is taking so long.
Their service has seriously declined over the years, and their decision to close most of their agencies has really made things worse. I've had enough of ING, really - who do they think they are? After 33 years as a client, I'm really in a hurry to move elsewhere and my only remaining question is whether I should bother to choose another Belgian bank.
Very pool customer service, late actions on important matter to clients.. it took them more than one month to reopen my account though i provided ING with their requested documents. Agents who respond via the ING app are doing nothing! For contact via phone must wait long time in Q to talk to someone. In general, if you plan to live outside Belgium for a while, you might want to change your bank before departure.
If someone is looking for a worst bank in the World then this is the one. If you don’t believe go and try out yourself. Service is super super slow that I have never ever seen in my life in any other countries I have been . To open a business account they literally took more then a month . I have summited all the documents they need on the first day. Whenever I visited branch of ING Belgium the only thing they say is wait decision made to done from headquarter such a bureaucracy . Seriously!!! just to open a small business bank account took that long? Avoid this bank and go to others instead. ING bank living in 17th century trust me.
ING is the worse and unprofessional bank. We tried to take a loan for our new car from them and the representative deliberately delayed the process, because she knew the interest rate will go up in few days (she did not inform us about that). She lied that there was a technical issue ( which was supposedly unresolved for two week). This is called “working against your customer” . We wrote a complaint to the bank with no response over two months now and the customer service phones provided are non reachable after being on hold for above 40 min in working time (we tried several days).
Thankfully we took all our money away to another more professional bank and we will not have to deal with problem not respecting their customer nor our personal time!
This bank has the most useless customer service ever. I am constantly on hold, for hours at a time, they say they will do things - yet they do not. I can't believe how much hassle it is to get somebody to help me. The only thing left is to make an appointment in one of the ING branches... yet to actually make an appointment it so confusing. Their website just sends me from one webpage to the next.. urgh!
They were happy to accept my money and then blocked my account until I could prove that I had paid tax on it. After 4 months I finally can spend using my debit card but I am still not allowed to make transfers.
I can not leave this bank fast enough.
Very bad. I’ve been on hold for about 15 minutes and am writing this review with the call in the background. For context, I called at 09:01 during opening hours …
The online ING.be app is very useless, I need a document in PDF form, something very simple. Yet, I am told to email in the FAQ and their email seems to be as fast as their call center.
Can’t wait to leave this bank!!!
It took over a month to transfer an small amount (less than 100 euros). Money left the sender's account and took a month to reach mine, when I asked the bank they said transactions take time no other explanation... Unbelievable. They also blocked a transaction and didn't even inform me because in the description was the word 'Persian' and thought I was funding terrorist activities... The whole description was 'Persian Dinner' for an amount of 65 euro... And they failed to notify me. The other bank, of which I am not a client!! Had to contact me. The level of incompetence of Belgian ING is ridiculous. I am leaving the bank and never recommending it to anyone.
ING is highly unprofessional and unethical bank. I wanted to open an account in their bank and made an appointment on certain date and time. When I was there, they simply ignored me for 15 min, then I had to find someone in their office to help me myself. When all the formalities were done and two weeks passed I still have heard nothing from them. I start calling and the only two things I get is promises to come back to me tomorrow (which NEVER happens) and information that the account is open and awaits activation. Another 2 weeks passed and I learnt that I am under "security check" from the bank. No time frame and no scope is declared. I bet it is connected to my non-Belgian origin, as in case of many other commenters here. Racist and xenophobic bank!
The worse bank ever!!
I moved recently to Belgium and I needed to open a bank acount. Since I was a happy customer at ING Netherlands for years, I thought I would get the same service in Belgium but it wasn't the case! As I don't have yet a Belgian ID card, I needed an appoitment to open the bank account. I sent an email and got the appoitment but then my surprise was that when I got there, the person was not working that day and didn't bother to inform me. The other colleague present that day didn't want to make the effort to receive me to open the account. I had to take hours of work to be there on time and then instead of solving the solution since I was there, they just didn't care! They told me to give my number and they would call me for another appointment when they would have the time! Like what?? You think people are always available for you? The incompetence was from your side, not mine! They even questioned that I went the wrong day, I had to show several times the confirmation email of my appointment! Not only you lost a customer but don't worry, I'll inform the world as well that the customer service is the worse! You're not better than us because you work in a bank, remember thanks to who you all have a job!
Very bad customer service . I called the bank and waited 45 min but no answer then again called and after 10 min some one answerd and she said she will forward my call to an other person and again I waited 35 min and call disconnected . I called again and some one answerd after 5 min and same answer that I would transfer you call to some one . I waited over 1h 10 min and no answer . I am sure they close the office and left call on hold . Very sham full service . Soon go to transfer to an other bank
surely the worst bank in Europe, I haven't used the account for 2 years and this year I received from the central bank that I'm being paid to them as a bad payer for 50 euros from the ing reason that they didn't let me know that they are in minus!
I have had the same address for 5 years! The bank is bad and the bad workers
The bank that treats you with absolute hostility and contempt. I understand that they are liquidating in masse all accounts of persons not resident in Belgium. Not sure if they extend they xenophobia to non-Belgians resident in Belgium. Does not matter if you are for instance working for a European institution but abroad.
In any case, the manner of doing is the worst imaginable - they just block your account, and then to get your money back make you jump trough all kinds of administrative loops set up by themselves. I was lucky that I have another account in Belgian bank, otherwise I would still be in their clutches. Also of course you have no right to know the state of your bank account or anything else since they blocked it. Total abuse of power.
In other words, if you are not some sort of purebred Belgian living in Belgium, leave before they will get to you.
And if you are - don't be so sure you will be OK either.
Thanks goodness I'm free of them, with my money recovered. Good riddance of bad s...
The worst bank ever. They closed my account however i’m client since i was 17 (in that time it was BBL) Today i’m 59, a Belgian resident living in a foreign country and they are just threatening me with an abusive arrogance. Is there no quality and humanity anymore ? Finally I don’t care but i warn all potential clients, stay away from ING. Im not surprised people are switching to Crypto …..
Impossible to close account I’ve had with them since 1984. Customer service is diabolical. Very unhelpful. I have spent money on phone calls from UK but despite assuring me my account is closed and a ‘colleague’ will confirm this in 24 hours this never happens. I continue to receive statements for an account I cleared in December but it shows 2€ (Which I cleared).
