We had an incredible visit to Japan the tour covered all aspects of this amazing country from shrines and temples to the bullet train to street market food and most of all to the people of Japan. The trip was incredibly put together by very knowledgeable people.

Small group, lead by a knowledgable tour guide. Overall, our experience on the tour was fantastic, the food, the culture and the scenery in Japan was amazing. We had many memorable moments while on tour. We recommend Inside Japan Tours.

Wonderful experiences to choose from depending on your interests. Wonderful attention to detail in the trip planning. Wonderful guides. Trip ran like clockwork, just like the Japanese train system. I absolutely couldn't have planned a trip nearly this complete on my own. I've done 3 trips, total of 10 weeks, traveling using InsideJapan. All superb.

Inside Japan made my trip FLAWLESS! Everything was so easy and my 11 year old daughter and I had an amazing experience traveling for 2 weeks. Can’t thank you enough!

Our trip was very efficiently arranged at very short notice. I cannot fault either the arrangements that were made and the resulting ease of travelling.

I embarked on an almost 3 week self guided tour to Japan with Inside Japan Tours. I am an experienced traveler, but this was my first trip to Japan.
The whole trip went perfectly as planned and the self-guide instructions were easily followed and delivered on my expectations. The in-country assistance was reassuring, although not required due to the excellent planning and clear written guidance.
I can confidently recommend IJT to anyone wishing to visit Japan.

Inside Japan tour was excellent. We saw everything we wanted to see and it was actually better than advertised. From the uk staff we booked with to the in country staff everything was reassuring and professional. The thing that absolutely changed this from a good to an excellent tour was our guide. Fergal was perfect for our group and if we ever wanted to do another tour I think we would have to have him again. We added a trip into the end of our tour and again it was without incident and to be recommended

We have never been to Japan and didn't want a conventional experience on our first trip. After searching for various tours, Inside Japan's Hidden Japan itinerary was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to go to places we didn't know we wanted to go (i.e., Naoshima and Mt. Koya) and experience the history, culture, food and art. IJ was helpful with recommendations, answered our many questions and was accessible to us before and after our tour finished. The pace of the trip was perfect for us (we are 65+). The activities, experiences, description and style of accommodations are accurate. We loved our first trip to Japan and would use IJ again!

Inside Japan allowed my family to have an outstanding experience tailored to our interests. First, Joseph made booking the trip fun. Our accommodations and tour guides - Nick, Nana, Junko and Yann all exceeded expectations. We plan on another trip to Japan with Inside Japan soon.

I just finished a tour from Inside Japan “Hidden Japan” beginning early March 2026 and I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants high variety and an amazing cultural experience. This tour has been very thoughtfully planned out to pack as much as possible into less than two weeks. I was very impressed with the amount of exposure to Japan’s history, art, nature, food, and sociology. The tour guide made all the difference: Hanan was by far one of the best tour guides I have ever had. Knowledgeable in history, language and culture- Hanan made traveling through the bustling cities, rural villages, temples/shrines and trails of Japan seamless. Always there to educate and assist us with whatever we needed. She truly goes above and beyond and made the trip very special for all of us. I will be recommending “Inside Japan” - “Hidden Japan”- and Hanan to everyone! Thank you!

If I could give this company stars, it would be far more than five… we had the most incredible tour through Japan… Our tour Leader KINGA was more than incredible… indeed faultless…

We booked a two week holiday to Japan . On booking we requested a basic standard of 4 - 5 stars .
The tours on this holiday were very good , the travel arrangements within Japan were scheduled well and always on time .
The accommodation was excellent in the hotels , however we had a 5 day stay in a matchya house which was extremely disappointing the standard of accommodation was very basic , dark and not functional at all . We immediately voiced our concerns to inside Japan we offered us alternative accommodation at a cost of between 1-2 K on top of the price we had paid for an expensive holiday to stay in a 4 star hotel . They did offer some form
of compensation but this would not even cover the cost of a 4 star hotel which we had asked for initially .

Awesome service, great attention to detail, the guides, accommodation, itinerary were all excellent.

We'd never traveled with an operator before, so going with Inside Japan was a leap of faith. We were delighted with Kelly's responsiveness to our inquiry, careful consideration of our interests, the detail of her bid, and, ultimately, outstanding quality of our three week tour.

Our consultant Mark was so helpful and designed a tour that worked for our family. The attention to detail regarding the logistics (check in and out times, transport, options provided, guides etc) as well as the accomodation options chose were excellent. Mark took my random collection of ideas and with his knowledge of Japan created an intinerary that resulted in an amazing trip for our whole family. I have been recommending Inside Japan to everyone I know thinking about travelling to Japan!
