I went to the Monaghan town Shop in the shopping centre with my newborn and my 2 other boys. While I was breastfeeding my newborn baby my 2 year old dropped some water from the bubble maker. I didn’t notice the situation as I was busy feeding the baby and one of the employees came over and told us to move to another place as she had to close that area as the floor was too slippery. She didn’t treat us in a nice or calm manner. She was out of control, like something really bad happened. It was a bit of water that she could’ve dried with a bit of paper, instead she started putting paper all over and close the area. I had to get up really quickly as she insisted I had to go. I was with 3 kids and my mom who is 72 and doesn’t speak English and she wasn’t nice as she claimed she was being. We left altogether as I didn’t feel welcomed. We left the coffee and some of the muffin. The coffee wasn’t nicely prepared anyways. That was 15 euro really bad spent. I’m not going to come back to this store and I’m not going to recommend it. Such a pity as I always have a good experience in other stores.

Small things matter.

I called today, and selected a cappuccino and pastry.
A very pleasant lady took my order, and brought it down to me.
Very nice touch. Staff are always pleasant.

Beware of the tipping scam at their outlets. I bought a coffee and left a tip at their "justtip" terminal. The sign says 50c, but the machine says €1 and takes €3! I complained to the staff but they said the terminal was not controlled by them.

Howth Branch

Howth branch, bought 4 coffees, charged for 5, paid with Google pay, returned to counter and assured there was a credit on my wallet when I tapped again. There's not. Coffee, which was decent, is overpriced enough without having to pay an extra 25%. Update - 2 days later the refund appeared in my card account (not Google wallet, which I'd used).

Cakes are so processed

Cakes are so processed, probably last a very long time in the presentation counter. Overpriced. Coffee is ok and drinkable, so 2 stars.

Customers not welcome

My daughter attended the cafe in Sutton with her school friends. They purchased food and took their seats After a while the manager came out and started shouting them. He went off and returned later telling them to leave in aggressive manner. When I rang to complain the manager maintained that she was treated because other school children were taking space and not buying food. I offered to provide receipt but he declined. I complained to the head office who apologized and then referenced school children taking up space in the canteen. The cafe don't accept that when you buy food in the cafe you ate entitled to be treated as a customer. To be treated in such a manner is not acceptable and they would not be allowed to treat adults in that manner.

Why do we settle for such mediocre things in Ireland. Bland, average, not special. Today, had a chocolate muffin, looking for a treat in the cold winter days. It felt bargain basement, overly sweet, cheap! Lidl is better!! €3 for something I could not eat.

Outrageously priced

Outrageously priced
For the same price you can get your coffee and scone served in a fine restaurant.
The staff are unwelcoming.
The scone which tastes disgusting tastes like a process product and it probably has a lifespan for about 1000 years
