This course has envigored my career in photography, the instruction was clear with concise comments on how to improve the images sent. The tuition was clear and easy to understand with the backup of the staff on a very quick turnround. The returning comments were very easy to follow and gave more ideas to improvement.
All the lessons are configured in a way to lead all aspects to the final exam, and critical report to guide you to your goal. I would recommend that the downloadable lessons are configured to aid the student to read the download book. At the precent there is a problem and there is a over excess of pages needed for each booklet.

An excellent course, it really helped me with the technical side of photography. With friendly tutors and supportive feedback, I would recommend it to anyone. I felt my skills and confidence improved a great deal as the course went on, and can't speak highly enough of it.

Top course, and you can do it at your own pace

Excellent course where you can learn at your own pace. Constructive criticism is put across so as not to dishearten students and encourage development throughout the course. Has certainly helped me achieve my goal of knowing how to use my camera to its full and it will not be the end of my learning I'm sure.

I highly recommend this course. After years on auto and not being able to get to grips with manual settings, the course took me through in manageable chunks, and revisited areas so I really got to grips with them. The style of course suited me with a range of small chunks to read, small clips and trying things out. Feedback from tutors were really helpful, personalised and were always on the end of email to talk through ideas.

I started out just wanting to understand my Camera a bit better, so I started the Diploma in Photography. I enjoyed it so much that I then Upgraded to the Professional Diploma in photography and Now I have started the Photography Business Diploma. The Information and guidance is fantastic and the amazing feedback is done in a way that develops your skills making you look at the good points and help you work on the areas you could improve. Completing the Professional Diploma in Photography course has helped me gain the essential skills and techniques required to take high quality photographs. The course modules are clearly set out and engaging, using video, text and images. I enjoyed the wide variety of assignments that sometimes took me out of my comfort zone. The tutor feedback was comprehensive, particularly from Tim McCann who gave very constructive, helpful and positive advice on what had gone right with the photograph and clear guidance on making improvements, including useful editing tips. The fact that the course can be taken at your own pace, and is accessible after you have completed it, is a real bonus.
The final assignment feedback was very useful in pointing me in the right direction regarding how the three images could have been improved. In one of the cases, I was offered Lightroom editing tips which I found useful and which I did try out afterwards.

Thank you for such an interesting and comprehensive online course. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is serious about improving their photography, either as a hobby or for business. Many thanks to the tutors and administrators at the IOP team for an excellent course.

So I started this course in 2018, it was a gift from my daughter and wife. For that period I dipped in and out of the course doing a little here and a little there.
Then at the end of 2019 I started a new job, I was no longer travelling the length and breadth of the UK and the EU. This allowed me to return to the IOP and my diploma. This course gives you the tools and knowledge to go out and confidently practice.The online teaching method continually helps to raise your personal standard. Their is also an active Facebook group, all happy to help on your personal journey. I highly recommend the IOP to teach you so much more about photography. You can do it as quickly or as slowly as you want. This has been a massive help in improving not only my photography but my knowledge of photography.

This is an excellent course. There is a really good balance between the online instruction and practical assignments, which enable you to put into practice what you have learnt. The assignments have made me think about what makes a good photograph in a way that I never have before. The feedback on the assignments is particularly helpful. It is always thoughtful and detailed and unfailingly comes back within a short space of time. I can’t speak highly enough of the professionalism of the tutors, who are always helpful and ready to answer any queries you may have. The online teaching platform is very user-friendly and works perfectly – over the three and half years I took to complete the course, I never experienced any problems with it. Being able to take this amount of time over the course is another benefit, particularly for those who have many other commitments. I highly recommend the course for anyone who is serious about photography. It has certainly made me a better photographer – and it’s great to be able to have a continuing connection with the Institute after finishing the course.

I chose the advanced diploma course, which was later re-launched as the Professional Diploma in Photography. The course takes you back to the beginning with the basics re exposure, aperture, shutter speed, etc. Each module is clearly written and precise. Video tutorials are very helpful. Each assignment receives a very comprehensive feedback. All the Tutors are technically knowledgeable and are also experienced photographers in their own right. It is through this course that I have become a better photographer than when I’d started.

Completing the Diploma in Photography course has given me so much knowledge of all aspects of making photographs. The tutor feedback was comprehensive, constructive and very useful for continued improvement. The course has made me think about why I take photographs and to care about my composition and end product. A great course. Thank you.

My passion for photography while doing the Diploma course has soared through the roof, everytime I take a photo I see a huge improvement and that's because of my tutor's advice and help when I was confused about a unit.

So I recommend everyone to do a course, it's well worth the money.

I have always been a keen amature photographer and wanted to develop my skills.
I undertook the Diploma in Photography course with the Institute of Photography.
I have learnt things I never knew about a camera and how you can get a better picture by changing some settings on a camera.
I enjoyed that it was all online and a really simple layout. Communication was great when I needed it and they were quick to answer any queastions I had.
I would definately recommend the Institute of Photography if you want to develop your skills in photography, whatever level you may be!

This is the best possible Photography course that you can get on line. Forget all those pop up ads for cheap courses, you get what you pay for! Extremely helpful feedback from tutors. My photography has improved so much thanks to this course and the friendly community spirit with the other Students is brilliant. Be part of this Family, you will not regret it.

I completed the Professional Diploma in Photography last year , and I loved every minute of the course. The units make you think, question and self appraise the photo's you submit. The feedback from the tutors is amazing, they talk you through all the aspects of each photo that you submit.

If you need any advice along the way, an email to your tutor will be answered quickly, and in great depth.

Its not just an online course, it's a fantastic approach to learning everything about photography. I started this course because I wanted to learn how to use my camera in manual mode (which now comes second nature) but I also gained so much more knowledge, lighting, aperture, shutter speed, composition, the list is endless.

Would I recommend this course? Absolutely!

Very good overall course, covering essentials like cameras, lenses, technique, exposure, Lightroom, composition, aperture priority, etc, etc. 20 or so modules, and with each one you can submit images for tutor feedback, which is always thoughtful and respectful. Towards the end of your course there are three or four compulsory image submissions - portrait, landscape, etc. And for the Final Submission you are required to supply three images, Portrait, Landscape, and Free Choice.
So, a good balance between taught modules and tutor feedback. Recommended.

Incredible journey from basic camera settings to time lapse, hdr and full on landscape.
I loved every minute of it even the full on tutor reviews when i may not have do e as much as i needed. I completed every assignment in about a year and have improved my photography by leaps and bounds. Will continue now in my chosen field of lanscape but thank you so much for the experience. I would recommend this course to anyone. Put the effort in and dont skimp the assugnments. Thanks again.
